Scammers!
Igor Gomelyuk (going by Mike for some reason) offered me a price for a scrap car. His employee named Adam showed and started inspecting the car for some reason, checking km’s etc (it’s scrap, remember). He then looked under the car and said it had no catalytic converter, and reduced the price. I told him he obviously doesn’t know what he’s talking about as I pointed to the catalytic converter, in the exact place it should be. He then said because it was a six cylinder car, it should have two, in-line, which isn’t a thing. I tried to explain that only dual exhaust vehicles would have two in that configuration, and I even pulled up the exhaust diagram to prove it. He then raised the price, but was still short of the promised amount. I told him to leave, after which he begged me to sell him the car as he wouldn’t get paid otherwise, which I said is not my problem as they are trying to scam me. He then showed me hundreds of pictures on his phone of catalytic converters, and explained that every one was “aftermarket” and he had to reduce the price on all of them. I asked him how he knew they were aftermarket, he said because they are “shinier” than the rest of the exhaust system, meaning they “must” have been replaced at some point. I asked how he could tell aftermarket from OEM by just looking at it, he said “from experience”. I had enough and told him to leave, and then he said his “boss” approved $50 less than the original quote. I took the amount to be done with the situation, otherwise I would have said no based on principle. They are scamming thousands of dollars from unsuspecting people
