Earlier today I purchased a gift card, but I never received the gift card code. I also have not received any refund. I checked my email (including spam) and my account, and there is nothing there.
What makes this more frustrating is that I contacted customer support and have not received any response at all. The payment went through successfully, but there has been no follow-up or resolution.
I would appreciate CashStar reviewing this transaction and either sending the gift card code or issuing a full refund as soon as possible.

I bought a 100 gbp gift card for PlayStation. It worked all well at the end and the credit was added properly, but I found it weird that I was not asked for my email - I've just received a link to the gift card (if I closed or refreshed my browser it would just disapear).

EDIT (1/18/25): I have raised my rating to 3 stars from 1 after a full refund by CashStar of the original purchase price. Unfortunately I cannot give a more positive rating at this time for a couple reasons. It took more effort to rectify this than a simple initial request. Secondly the offering of the bonus value in the form of a half dozen "bonus cards" explicitly labeled as "Not Gift Certificates" so that their use could be severely restricted to a tiny subsection of theater concessions and not general use with Cinemark as was expected. I will in future ensure the missing terms of purchase and use are present (they weren't) first in general with gift cards and hope to find use for CashStar's services which in past have been good. This was a satisfactory solution on CashStar's part and I thank them for it.

My "bonus cards" electronically sent along with my purchased Cinemark gift cards turned out to not only have a 2 month expiry period, but could ONLY BE USED FOR CONCESSIONS. Those were the only reasons I bought gift cards. I have purchased these in the past since I use them for movie tickets, and no such restrictions existed. No mention was made at point of sale. These also cannot be used for merchandise or alcohol.
Their "customer service line" never picks up, even after hours on hold, and I learned why. They did send back a prompt email via their online form request. A cheery note with tons of bizarre, irrelevant emoticons explained "Gift card sales are considered final because once they’re issued, there’s no way to confirm if they’ve been used." This is clearly untrue since both the user and the theater can check the balance at any time.

I have a giftcard from Boots.com sold by this company. I have had approximately 15 contacts with Boots via email, telephone and social media. They have refused outright to provide any assitance with serval members of staff admitting that BOOTS HAVE PROVIDED THEM WITH NO TRAINING TO ADDRESS SUCH ISSUES. they have been completely clueless, passing me from one agent to another, none with an answer or solution. they have directed me to contact CASHSTAR directly, which i have attempted to do via their website. I have clearly outlined the problem, and indicated that i just want to use the giftcard that I am legally entitled to. they have flatly ignored my correspondence. I am left out of pocket WITH NO ACCESS TO ANY SUPPORT OR ACCOUNTABILITY FROM EITHER BOOTS.COM OR CASHSTAR. AVOID BOTH.

Friend got me a 50 dollar e-gift through the official roblox site. Guess what? It never came. Checked with support and they said they declined it. Funny cause the bank didnt. 50 bucks approved and no card hours later. They promised that they would escalate it. I know they will probs respond to this saying "Oh were sorry and well email you" I promise you if they do I will delete the review and leave a 5 star one. They probably Will never. Its beyond me how they have any sort of partnerships. I will pursue this until its resolved. Beware though that they charge you but claim they did not AND THEN... Nothing will happen. They count on little kids buying it with there allowance. It speaks volumes that they have over 1000+ 1 star negative reviews across 3 reviewing platforms. Thieves and Scammers that have no shame in lying. Oh and support was useless.

Had the most appalling experience with this company. I bought 2 gift cards from them as Christmas presents for my grandson and actually thought I was dealing with PlayStation from the representation in the advertising. The order said I could get a refund up to 14 days after purchase if I hadn’t redeemed the codes.
I subsequently decided to ask for a refund as my grandson’s preferred the cash and emailed to request this. I was shocked when Cashstar responded saying they didn’t give refunds. I contacted PlayStation on their suggestion and they said they couldn’t help but gave me a reference for Cashstar confirming I had not used the codes.
Cashstar still refused to give me a refund and told me to go to my bank.
I feel this company has totally misrepresented the guarantee on their paperwork about my right to a refund and PlayStation are benefiting from this disreputable company.
You use them at your peril and if anything goes wrong they will never give you your money back.

I have now had a response from this terrible company. This is what it said on my order about refunds:
Cancellation: You can cancel your purchase within 14 days from the date of purchase and receive a refund, provided that you have not redeemed the code. To request a refund contact us. Nothing in this email affects any rights you may have under local applicable law in respect of refunds for faulty products.
I therefore asked for a refund and DID NOT redeem the codes. This is what this company emailed me today:
Hi X
We are following up regarding your previous refund request for order XX. Please note that this case was previously escalated and reviewed. The resolution determined that a refund cannot be honored because the balance is not reflected in the order.
As outlined in our policy, there is a strict no-refund policy once eCards have been viewed. Due to this situation, we are unable to issue a refund.
We truly understand how frustrating this may be, and we appreciate your patience throughout this process. You are welcome to dispute the charges directly with your bank if you wish to pursue this further.
If you have any questions or need additional clarification, please reply to this email and we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you again for your understanding.

I wish there were an option to give zero stars. I ordered a gift card on December 12th, and it stated that it would be sent via next-day delivery with USPS. Christmas came and went, and I never received the card.
I contacted them at the end of December to follow up, and they told me to wait 15 business days due to Christmas traffic. It is now January 9th, and after contacting them again, I was told it can take up to 20 business days and that I should continue waiting!
I asked them to cancel the physical card and send a digital gift card instead, but they completely ignored that request. They have happily taken my money and delivered nothing. $250 gone!
I am furious at this appalling customer service!
UPDATE:
As you can see they offered to send an email to resolve this issue. However, not only did I never receive that email, they are claiming they cant help me because I didn’t reply. Just avoid them!

Originally on the 24th of December I had ordered a gift card, around £100, and didn't receive it. The transaction is still pending for it to this day, I have tried many ways of contacting their customer support but it takes more than a week supposedly. On top of that, I chose to give it the benefit of the doubt and try again, this time with a lower amount (£50). Both transactions failed and stuck in pending, no gift card received, and am now having to wait for their support to help me out.

Customer support is non-existent. I'm having trouble with a gift card link for Sony PlayStation that I bought to surprise someone, so I did not opt for the email version. Neither I nor the recipient can see any gift card code. We are being prompted for an email address, but I opted to send this via link rather than email, so that information was never provided. Tried to register a support ticket but I never get any email confirmation (like a ticket ID for reference). Live chat does not work at all.
Update 15 JANUARY 2026: I have confirmation from both CashStar Support (US) and Sony PlayStation Support (Romania) that, despite the PlayStation website directing me to make the purchase, they will not provide the product or a refund because I am outside the US.
Crucially, I was charged but never even received the 12-digit code. Their stance implies it is acceptable to bill international customers, deliver nothing, and refuse refunds based on location. There is no geo-lock for customers to stop them from being able to buy things they can't even use or get refunds for in other geographies.

I purchased a gift card through CashStar, completed the payment, and provided all required personal details. Despite this, the gift card was never sent. There was no clear explanation, no timely update, and no resolution.
From a customer’s perspective, paying for a product and not receiving it—especially after submitting personal information—is extremely concerning. The lack of transparency and delivery makes this experience feel unreliable and potentially scam-like.
I would not recommend using this service unless CashStar significantly improves communication and fulfillment.

Ordered an e card for a chrstmas present for my niece and much to my embarrassment it was never sent out. The money was taken from my account though! Really disappointed.
Update: after raising this directly with Boots the voucher was finally sent out on 31.12.25 - 7 days later than I ordered it for.

Similar to other experiences here - I purchased gift cards from Royal Caribbean that uses CashStar and the money was immediately taken from my account but I did not receive any email confirmation and thee gift cards were never received. I called and company claimed to have no record of the purchase but it is clearly shown on my bank statement as a debit. Something fraudulent happening here. Stay away and stay aware!
