The only cat cafe in Glasgow where the cats are respected

The only cat cafe in Glasgow, where the cats are respected by the owners, the staff and then the customers/visitors.
It's nice and calm, always makes me happy and the cats seem well looked after, healthy and content, as they can be, given that there's still strangers coming in and that it's a cafe.
I like the way it's all focused on cats, instead of being a form of a cat circus or another kind of exploitation.
Always looking forward to the next visit.

Miaow Cat Café - Catastrophe

Meow Cat Café, West End, Glasgow

Paid an expensive entrance fee for nothing. Two friends had shown me videos of visits to other cat cafés with cats milling around everywhere. As a cat lover I was very excited. For nothing. Poorly designed layout. Food station with tables either side, then a third area at the back. Whole area much too large for cats to cover to please all customers, so lacking atmosphere. Didn’t expect masses of contact but I did expect to be surrounded by enough moving cats to tell me I was in an actual cat café. Not so. 1-3 cats on floor at the most. Most of them asleep high up. Others on ledges out of human reach. Miaow provides cat toys on a string (which kept the cats with one customer only) and remote controlled rats (which made the cats flee). I stroked one cat twice on its way up to the high refuge ledges. House rules stated to let the cats come to you. On complaining of my catless experience the owner said the cats don’t come to you, you have to go to them. Contradictory information. I never felt for a moment that I was in a cat café. Some noisy invasive visitors upset the cats too. Some cats fled through a little back cat door to get away from bothersome customers. None of the cats seemed happy and nor was I. This business did not deliver a cat experience. Website describes it as ‘a haven for all.’ Really?
