This is such a great concept! But the costs per transaction are quite high for the service provided by Catinaflat itself. If it was still just the 2 creators it would make sense, but seems it... See more

How this company uses Trustpilot
See how their reviews and ratings are sourced, scored, and moderated.
The reviews on Trust Pilot need to be split into those from cat sitters on the CatInAFlat (CIAF) platform and cat owners. Cat owners get access to great cat sitters who for the most part provide high quality care for cats in the cat's usual home. I have completed 15 jobs on CIAF so far. Firstly, they charge the cat owner £1.50 per booking and then charge the cat sitter 19% (even on repeat bookings). CIAF don't disclose this so many cat owners think the cat sitters with higher prices are expensive but you don't even get minimum wage for an hour after they take their fees. At first the payments were calculated correctly according to CIAF terms & conditions. However the website & app has lots of errors & bad functionality. My first email was sent 6 months ago. They never responded to the feedback. Then I had a client that needed to amend their dates so needed a partial refund which was finally sorted when the client emailed several times. Since then I haven't been to reconcile the payments I've received correctly at all (and I means by tens of pounds not just a couple of pence). Several emails have been sent now and I just get AI automated responses back that don't answer the question and just assumes it is me that is not patient enough to wait for payments. They advise you to reply to the emails for further queries and then again you get no response. They are treating the cat sitters that give them the success like they don't matter. CIAF do no marketing outside of London that I have ever seen so I'm having to do all of that. I'm considering dealing with clients directly as I'm worried CIAF are submitting incorrect figures to the HMRC for my earnings if they are not paying me the right amounts. Having looked into the company a little more to try to find out the owners. I realised the original founders (mentioned in the About Us section) have resigned from the organisation after an acquisition in October 2024. It is now owned by people in the USA and they haven't even been bothered to update their text based About Us Section in nearly 1 year so I doubt they are too fussed about correct UK tax reporting.
EDIT *Since their response below I can add further experience that it took 11 days for CIAF to reply to my latest email request (which was on behalf of a client who needed to cancel and I waived my fee) CIAF still took their fees though (as per their terms and conditions). Taking that long to respond makes me look bad to the client. I would accept their response about the fee going towards customer service if I'd seen any evidence of good customer service and if the platform maintenance was happening. There is much to still to do to improve.

I booked overnight for my cats which according to their website is 12 hours, the cat sitter came twice a day, for 15 minutes each time, the times he arrived were completely dictated by him, not my requested times, which were 4 times a day.
When I spoke to the company they said I should have been clearer with the cat sitter, and it was my fault. I request a 50% refund, as that would have been the price I should have paid for 2 visits a day. The company said no as again me telling the cat sitter 3 times that I wanted 4 visits a day and specifying times was not clear enough. They said he did not leave my cats at risk, despite leaving wet food put for over 15 hours and said that was suitable for my pets.
It is a shame they do not take feedback on board as there are some fantastic cat sitters, but I would recommend setting up a camera before you use the company so you know what is actually happening with your pets.

Tried requesting a sitter for this weekend.
Someone did promise but then would not respond until the very last minute about the visit and refused to answer my question about meet and greet the day before.
In the end as I was running out of time I had to cancel and found someone for around the same price on rover

I booked a sitter via Cat in a Flat for 2 weeks (Aug 2025) and came home to a disaster:
- Fridge switched off, all food rotting, house reeking of decomposing meat.
- Kitchen infested with flies, mosquitoes, fruit flies, and maggots.
- Kitchen sink blocked and unusable.
- The sitter entered the kitchen daily yet failed to notice or report ANY of this for 2 weeks.
This is negligence. My cats were left in an unhygienic, unsafe environment - with health risks from insects, maggots, and the overwhelming stench of rotten meat.
The financial cost has already been severe:
- £160 to re-purchase food (a fraction of what was lost in the freezer)
- £380 for a replacement fridge
I raised a formal complaint on 17th August, chased it multiple times, and submitted via their Help Centre. As of 22nd August, Cat in a Flat has ignored me completely. Not even an acknowledgment.
At the very least I expect a refund, but I also expect accountability for the damage, expense, and risk to my pets’ health. Instead: silence.
Other pet owners deserve to know Cat in a Flat failed to safeguard my pets’ welfare, and their customer service has been non-existent in the face of a serious complaint.

I have finished my pet sitting job 9 days ago and still waiting on my payment. I never got reply to my email. This is 2nd time that it takes that long before getting payed. Seriously considering to quit sitting through this app.

I have been let down 2 weeks before my holiday by Evie the cat sitter , with no explanation on why she had cancelled, I am now having to find people to come to my house to look after my cat, Tilly
I had to give 1 star to write the review or I would of given NONE, Helen G

I've been doing cat sitting via this website for 6-7 years and absolutely love it! I've met some amazing cat parents and spent loads of time with their lovely cats. The website is straight forward and easy to use. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the website fees can be a bit high. Charging 19% means catsitters have to charge more per visit / overnight. I try to keep my prices low but the fees make that very hard.
I came across this app when I was looking for a cat sitter to loom after my kitty for a week. It was straightforward and easy to use. I’m very happy with the cat sitter I managed to find from this app.
It was great until I got home - i booked my cat sitter through the app but I had to unexpectedly extend my booking. The day before I returned home the sitter claimed some flies had appeared in the house, showing me 4 or 5 flies on the window. Little did I realise the horror that was waiting for me when I got inside my flat. My wood flooring has gaps and I killed at least 100 flies in one day. They were in all the gaps of the flooring and everywhere.
In one month she hadn't cleaned the water filter water and there were maggots inside the filter and my poor cat refuses to drink from the fountain anymore because when I cleaned the fountain the water stank and was full of maggots. I found a mop head behind the door covered in live a and dead maggots. My cat had also had diarrhea all over two beds leading to me having to throw one single mattress.
The problem was she didn't follow any basic hygiene, she should have removed the soiled bedding but I had to tell her to do it. The food was clearly being left out too long and the fly infestation started. She didn't change his water in the whole month either just kept topping up without cleaning the inside.
Cat in a flat should vet the sitters properly, it was my fault choosing a young inexperienced girl who thought her job only involved playing with my cat and then leaving him. My neighbours are all angry with the fly infestation which has now spread to the communal areas.
When I confronted her about it her sweet demeanour quickly changed and she said my flat was dirty to begin with, which it wasn't and that she bought hand-wash and didn't charge me for some sessions. I booked some sessions off the app which was doing her a favour but she turned this back onto me and started crying over the phone. Was this cat in a flats fault not entirely but there was no way for me to know she was like this. The app needs to have a basic agreement about hygiene and cleanliness so sitters dont end up destroying your home due to u hygienic practices. I will never use this app again.

Our experience with the sitter was excellent less so trying to communicate with the company. We had a question regarding an extra charge for a Scottish bank holidays when we live in England and being charged the same for 1 visit as we had for 2. All these questions could have been answered if they were transparent with the pricing and actually responded to their email.

Cat in a Flat is great, every time we have used it we have had an excellent experience. All the sitters have been wonderful to our cats and we are never worried about them when we are on holiday.
Brilliant service from start to finish. Our cat sitter Christine was fab. Loads of pics and videos that took away the worry of us going on our holiday. Would of given a five star review but i sometimes struggled to navigate the app.
I am happy that I found this site and now I can go to my trip and know that my cats are totally alright!
This is a fantastic way to find great, reliable cat sitters.
Our cat is really timid, so a cattery is not an upton for us. We contacted a few cat-sitters on the site and use the two our cat was happiest round.
We now have a main cat-sitter plus back-up cat-sitter on the site and are very happy with both. We have WhatsApp chats at up with both and get daily updates/photos on how our fur baby is going.
I've given both of them individual 5-star reviews on the website, and have now come here to extend that 5-star review to the website where we found them.
I have used the app and the services many times to look after my cats when away. It’s working brilliantly. The sitter are very nice and interested in the cats wellbeing.
Once again we asked Grace to look after Lola and Milo. She popped in before we left to reacquaint with our two and we had no concerns leaving her in charge. It’s such a good service and when you get someone like Grace who has great empathy with them, you know you can go away and enjoy the break.
I have used Cat in a Flat 3 times and each time have had a lovely person move in and look after my elderly cat. I think the app is great although everyone needs to meet the individual personally first and do their own due diligence as I don't think they are vetted by the app. That said I have been very happy with the people I have met and one is returning again soon. I will definitely use the site in the future.
