Absolutely outstanding customer service from Pauline who measured my feet and fit me with the most comfortable walking boots I’ve ever purchased! I can’t believe I’ve suffered all these years with ill fitting boots despite paying for their best quality boots, Get measured folks! Their knowledge is second to none!

Thoroughly brilliant shop, well stocked and with amazing staff. Especially Pauline whose enthusiasm and expertise was top notch. Look no further should you need absolutely anything in regards to hiking in that part of the Lake District.

My husband and I bought several items, from the Catstycam Glenridding shop, in July 2026, in preparation for walking the West HighlandWay in September. We were served by Georgia and she was fantastic. Her customer service was excellent and we felt really looked after. She’s a credit to your team (and your sales as we only went in for a couple of tops and came away with fleeces, walking poles, bum bags and a mountain rescue calendar 🤣). She suggested I tried the next size up in a top, as the brand ran small, and also advised my husband about walking poles. We’ll definitely use the shop again.

With the sole having come apart on my walking boots yesterday, there was only one place to head for to get a new pair and that was Catstycam. Pauline was extremely helpful and recommended a different make for me to try which fitted really well. Over the years my wife and I have bought boots, clothing and equipment for Catstycam and we have not been disappointed. Helpful, friendly and knowledgeable service from local people. Thank you very much.

Excellent customer service from Georgia Roper. As a mature lady with tiny size 2 feet iv struggled to find really good quality walking boot. Georgia was so helpful and understanding and helped me find the perfect pair of boots which has enabled me to get back to my much loved walking. Thank you so much

While visiting Glenridding last month with my daughter, had to use this outlet as I forgot my coat and it was raining. So as I’m a bit disabled with stairs I struggled to get up the stairs to view the jackets. The assistant who served me Andrew was not helpful at all in fact was very hard to get him to have a conversation. Not the customer relations you’d find in a shop like this. I can’t understand that there are a lot of people with disabilities in the world and would suggest this company should invest in some sort of help for people having to climb all these stairs when they can’t do it. I did buy a jacket which was fine and being my first visit to the Lake District I wouldn’t be using this shop in the future.

Spoke to the shop before receiving my item ordered online and the gentleman was so helpful on the phone.
The item was received in very good time and the shop had also included some free tech wash to ensure that my item remains in tip top condition for as long as possible. Really impressed with fabulous customer service with that added touch. Wish more shops were like this.

After having walking boots for 26 years, I needed to do the difficult task of replacing them. Gorgia was wonderful and identified that I had high foot arches and could quickly recommend the most appropriate boots. The service was thorough and made me try them on an incline and decline. Very happy with purchase and could not recommend the service given enough. Many thanks - see you in 25 years.

This is one of my favourite shops in the country. I love the layout, the interesting things to buy and the overwhelming love of the outdoors that permeates the place. It’s beautifully stocked with carefully chosen product lines that you know you can trust. We’ve been coming to Glenridding for years and I save up all my outdoor kit needs to get great products chosen for their tried and tested attributes, always at excellent value (much cheaper and higher quality than the big chains). The service is always second to none - just recently a manufacturing fault with a walking boot meant that Andrew and Georgia upgraded the boots with no quibbles, posted the new pair to us in London with a handwritten lovely note and a complimentary bottle of Nikwax. There is never any pressure to buy and the staff are always happy to give detailed advice on ascending Helvelyn and the neighbouring fells.

I bought a pair of boots in Catstycam Outdoor Shop about 10 years ago and I have had excellent wear out of them. The time had come to replace the boots so I headed off to Catstycam, once again, during my holiday in the Lake District. The staff are welcoming, professional and approachable. Georgia assessed my walking needs and measured my feet. She suggested a pair of boots, which happened to be the same make as my old boots, and they seemed to be a perfect fit. Georgia was helpful, attentative, and informative but there was never a hard sell which can be so off putting. They genuinely want the best for their customers. That’s what brings me back time and again! Whilst we were there my husband wanted to update his walking jacket and found the assistant helpful and knowledgeable. The jacket was just what he wanted!

I am a total novice at walking and only second time to Lake District. I didn’t even own a waterproof coat, so when I went into the shop I didn’t have a clue! The lady there, Georgia and her assistant were really helpful and explained what everything on the label meant and then was very honest about which jacket looked best on me. When I got the jacket home my fella thought I could do with next size up, and Georgia was very kind and helpful in swapping it over.
The shop has a fab range of walking and hiking clothing and accessories, and I will definitely be going back next time I’m there. Lots of discounted top brands too!

Georgia fitted me for a pair of Walking Boots and waterproof Jacket and Trousers just before I did Wainwright‘s Coast to Coast Walk. The Boots were great and I have done many (comfy) miles since. The waterproofs proved essential for a couple of days of the Walk, and did the job excellently.

Called in to buy some walking poles after descending from the hills with difficulty. Great range and competitive prices. Georgia helped us purchase the right ones and we are very happy. Highly recommend a visit.

When I called Catstycam with a query before ordering I was met with a very helpful member of staff (Andrew, I believe) who was very friendly and quick to answer my question. I was pleasantly surprised that my order arrived only 2 days afterwards - would order from them again.

Bought several items over recent years from Catsycam, always good service and sound advice. Just finished a walk in torrential rain in latest items, w'proof gloves, trousers and 4 yr old boots all from Catsycam, I'm as dry as bone! Thanks.

Different staff but still a positive experience.
Happy with my Sprayway jacket!
Will be visiting again during my holiday next year I'm sure.
