Poor Execution and Committment to Customers

I have received 2 boxes, Summer 2019 and Winter (which should have been 2019). I have also ordered from their online market. It took nearly 6 weeks for the marker order to arrive. I was particularly disappointed when Causebox promised that the WInter box would arrive in time for Christmas to give a presents. Christmas came and went and finally a bit of communication from Causebox that they couldn't achieve their commitment. The concept is great- the execution leaves much to be desired and I've cancelled my subscription.

Extremely Poor Customer Service

When I purchased the box, i was planning to give the box as a Christmas gift, given that the online information indicated that boxes were typically shipped by mid month. I expected that I would receive it and be able to wrap it up and give it as a gift to my family member for Christmas as the family was gathering for the holidays. I kept checking the website to see when the box would ship and was disappointed when I saw the delay in shipment due to a problem with a supplier. At this point I updated the shipping address so that it would go directly to the family member. Three weeks later, when the box finally shipped it was sent to me at the billing address. I contacted customer service and was told that because I originally ordered the box to my address, that it was immediately put into "fulfillment" and thus was too late to change the shipping address despite the fact that the address was changed three weeks prior to shipping. They basically were saying it was my fault, despite their delay, and up to me to figure out how to get it to the recipient. I responded that there was no information to indicate that a delivery address could not be changed weeks prior to sending on their website and that I did not consider this to be an acceptable response, especially given that the change in address was necessary given their delay. I did not receive a response from Causebox about this. It was highly disappointing that a company with a good mission has such poor customer service and is not taking responsibility for their own mistakes.

I have never been so upset about a subscription box. If I could give 1/4 start rating I would. I paid over 30 days ago and nothing. I didn't pay for a full year so they are in violation of FTC statutes regarding online billing. The quality of what is being sent is all over the place from all social media sites I follow. Customer service will not give a straight answer. Cause box seems to be using our dollars for micro loans and not sending product. Stop drumming up new customers and take care of the orders you owe customers.

I was sent an offer for Cause Box through someone who was promoting fab fit fun.

I was sent an offer through someone who was promoting Fab Fit Fun.
It was a special to get a cause Box for I think $29.99.
The first Box was Ok. I did not realize they automatically subscribe you. The Cause Box does not reflect my style. I reached out to them and they insisted you can't send back a box and get a refund.
The items in the box I just received are not something I would use.
They send pierced earrings. I don't wear pierced earrings. They sent a wooden block letter thing I would never use. A really flimsy little blanket, again I would never use even at the beach. There were gold plated serving spoons and there was a sharp knick on one. The only item I would use would be the cream.
For me this a complete waste of my money. They insist they do not refund. I have offered to ship back the box. The box came about a week ago. I could not even re-gift these items because it is after Christmas! They obviously ran late with items arriving from other countries.
I think they need to restructure the company to be more efficient.
They insist they don't refund, so basically I am out $200 and stuck with items I would never use. Really, really not OK. Honestly I don't know who would actually use them! The blanket was flimsy, one of the gold plated spoons had a knick on the spoon area. The only item in the box I would use would be a face cream and honestly I have plenty of those. The first box they sent was the best, since then not great.I would like to return the most recent box that was sent and cancel my surprise subscription. I felt they were not forthcoming about the subscription.
I don't want to receive anymore boxes.

I received the box dented and was very disappointed as thought would be in larger box to protect theses boxes people love and keep especially since shipped from California to New Jersey.

Also, I did not get the items I wanted. The blanket was thin and had a pull. I don’t need spoons as a senior and already have or not interested. I got barrettes and have short pixie, I have cancelled as not pleased to spend Social Security monies on. Meant for 20-40 years young.

Ordered box for a Christmas present. Didn’t receive box until January 15th. Box came looking damaged. When emailing them to ask why hadn’t it shipped yet received no reply. Have now cancelled my subscription due to super late box, bad customer service and horribly damaged looking box (a nice gift to give someone right?)
Very disappointed.

Good company, good products, worth the cost.

Honestly really good. If you read the reviews and go by all of the very recent, shipping-related bad reviews, sure it's not super reliable regarding timeline. But good lord, they operate on a quarterly subscription, not monthly, and you'd think these people have never ordered anything online before. Every other box besides the winter 2019 has been pretty much spot on time; the products are fantastic; the customer service has been prompt; the boxes have been cleanly and well-packed - not even a rip in the tissue paper. I'm not exactly a big spender AND I'm Canadian so the currency exchange + shipping cost stings but I STILL find it worth the cash.

Nice mission... completely unreliable

Causebox- a company that supports small businesses with various causes. They give a curated box to you at a great price. The items are nice and well made. Here’s what they don’t tell you: their shipping is unreliable, their website is awful to maneuver, and their order processing system screws up orders more than it gets them right. I am a subscriber, but that will end when my subscription is over. I purchased winter boxes as Christmas gifts and it is mid-January and the boxes have yet to arrive. Communication of issues is awful as well. Subscribers were not notified until near or after Christmas that their boxes would not arrive. They have a good thought behind their mission but they need to stop the marketing and get their poop in a group before they try and expand. For Pete’s sake hire someone to expedite your boxes. DONT SELL THEM UNTIL YOU CAN FULLFILL THE ORDER. AND DONT SELL WINTER BOXES ONLY TO BE DELIVERED AFTER CHRISTMAS!!!!! As a company you have to know people want to give these as gifts. Get it together!

I can't find a way to respond to my prior review, so I am going to write another one. I finally received an answer and they say they will resend my box. They also blamed FedEx and claimed it did not leave them in the state, I received it. They claim that FedEx repackaged it because the box was damaged. I am a bit suspect of this, as I have received other packages that were repackaged by FedEX, both contained a label stating they were repacked and also telling me to carefully check the contents and notify them if something was amiss. So while, I believe this explanation could explain the damaged products, even the full missing products, how can it explain the SEALED item, that was missing an item?

WARNING

WARNING: they will not refund your money. If you pay $199 for a year and find they have a lousy product (spoiler: they do), you can't cancel the other shipments and get a refund. They also have no idea how to run a professional business. Apparently they use a Just in Time inventory system and guess what? The inventory didn't arrive in time in Dec. Did they email their customers to let them know items would not arrive in time for the holidays? Oh no, around 12/15 (already after the time boxes should have shipped), they posted a message on their webpage that boxes would ship out in the next couple of weeks. On 12/28 (essentially 2 weeks later) they reposted the message that boxes would ship out in the next couple of weeks; still no direct contact with customers. I contacted them on Jan 9 threatening them with the California AG's office; before replying to my email, they shipped my box. Hmm, I guess only threats work.

By the way, I did make a complaint with the AG: causebox refunded my subscription! Make more official complaints - maybe these people can be stopped.

Too Bad!

So... I really like the principal of causebox but am very disappointed in their execution. I believe they grew too fast and actually use our subscription money to pay bills they can’t and have fallen behind and are suffering for it. I was also charged 12/1 and as of 1/11 it still hasn’t shipped to me. I will be cancelling my subscription and don’t advise joining until they get their act together. Terribly disappointed I’ve HAD to come to that decision but if I want to donate my $250 a year somewhere else I won’t feel bad about my money usage.

Great in theory- terrible customer service

This company is great in theory, but their customer service SUCKS so as long as you don’t need anything and don’t really matter where your money goes, it’s a great fit! :( The winter box was over a month late which was inconvenient. I moved out of state in January and still hadn’t received my box so I changed my address in my account to make sure whenever it did finally send, I’d get it at the new address. A week later I FINALLY got the “your box has shipped!” Email but I noticed it was on its way to my OLD ADDRESS. So I reached out to customer service and they said they ask that customers change their address prior to the renewal date (December 1st)... where is THAT INFORMATION? Plus you didn’t even send it on time! I canceled my subscription- who knows how long it’ll be now that it was sent to Illinois and I am in KY...

Great follow up on email!

After reading most of the reviews on this site, I panicked and sent an email to #Causebox.

I wrote: I just got on the website to see where my box was and when it might be shipping out. I am now horrified at reading customer reviews that are very new from Nov., Dec. 2019, Jan. 2020. I am hoping that you respond, because based on these reviews these people have not been able to get a response.

If you are unable to deliver my box before the end of January, then I need you to do the right thing and return my money. I am moving at the beginning of February out of state and do not have a forwarding address.

If I do not get a response from you by the end of next week I will be calling the credit card company and the BBB.

You should have sent out an email to the people who are waiting for their boxes instead of having us search your website to find out what is going on.

Hopefully this will be resolved quickly.

UPDATE: They did not respond to my email, HOWEVER, within 4 hours of my email, they sent a link to track my package through FedEx and will arrive 1/21/2020.I will keep you posted if something changes, but I was impressed with the turnaround time even though I should have already received this. I should not have had to hunt them down :(

ADDITIONAL UPDATE: 1/22/20
I received my CAUSEBOX and I am very happy with the contents. I am not sure that I would become a regular member due to the fact that I had to follow up on the money trail, but the company seems legit and probaby had some internal issues to work out during the holidays. The brochure that came along with the contents describing each of the items in the box and also about the company was very informative. If nothing else maybe try them once and just give them a chance. Just do not lose the information on how to get in touch with them in case of a potential issue.

Still awaiting shipment after weeks

Still awaiting shipment after weeks. Was charged December 1st it's now jan. 5th. Only received a reply to my emails after I opened a PayPal dispute. I will not close dispute until items are here or money is refunded but at this point I don't really want items from this company anymore that's how bad the customer service is. Was actually looking forward to them.

I am at a loss with the customer service practices. Loved the two boxes I received (summer/fall) but am STILL waiting for the WINTER box which charged my credit card December 1st. Today is January 2nd and still no box has been shipped. I can’t locate an actual phone number and the emails are a joke. I sent an email informing and inquiring, after about 3 emails back and forth I was told to send an email to customer service (which is exactly what I did intially!). I recommend steering clear of this company. Guess I will contact my credit card company to dispute the charges.

CuaseBox excitement year 2

I have enjoyed receiving Causebox. I am going on year 2 and still get excited when I see it in the mailbox. The items in the box are quality and usable. I enjoy the different products and use many of them as gifts.
