Speedo on Maverick failed within 2000…

Speedo on Maverick failed within 2000 miles. Asked CCM for a gesture of goodwill because it was out of warranty . Received a standard “we will be in touch email” nothing since despite chasing it up.
Lovely looking motorcycle but I can understand why customers go to the big recognised brands for after service and reliability.

Ordered a new Maverick

Ordered a new Maverick!

Unfortunately (in hindsight) paid £500 deposit for a Maverick in November 21 at the NEC Bike Show.

Build time quoted as March 22/early Spring. After a few emails back and forth, the lead time moved to March/April, April/May, then May/June and Summer 22 - "but don't hold me to that!".

So I lost faith! I cancelled my order as I no longer had confidence in what they said and if that revised lead-time would actually be adhered too. The very "loose" delivery attitude, also led me to doubt the company itself and support I might receive in future (should I need it).

CCM decided that as "I am out of the 14 day cooling off period", that it is my problem and they will keep my £500 deposit on account, and, that is where it really went wrong and all faith and interest in CCM went out the window!

I'm very much of the view that if you can't stick to what you say, then either don't say it or if it goes wrong sort it out.

But no, CCM seem to want to think that I should have cancelled within 14 days for a bike that had a 3-4 month lead time (or closer to 6-7!)

So with regret I have completed the small claims court forms and ready to press send!

Do yourselves a favour; order and ONLY part with your hard earned cash with extreme care!! Expect to be taken for a ride (pardon the pun!) on how long your pride and joy might take to build.

It's a real shame, as I was so exited about getting the bike as they are stunning and have great reviews.

Unfortunately now, never to experience one, as my fingers have been burnt.

If the deposit is returned in good faith, I will update this review accordingly.
