I was very disappointed by Celtic Timber when I tried to order some timber sections in 2020. When I placed the order at the end of June. I was expecting to receive the sections from your own stock or from timber you would cut yourselves.

You wrote to me on 29th June to say the order was being processed. On the 30th June you said you had finished processing the order. In July you wrote to me asking for me to review your company and comment on the order which I could not do as I had not received the order.

I then heard nothing until I contacted you later on 20th July asking for a delivery date. You replied on 21st saying the order would be delivered on Friday, which I took to be 24th July.

Nothing arrived. When we next communicated on 24th August, William said you we're returning my money but would be ensuring the order would be fulfilled. I replied saying that to simplify shipping I would accept 1.5m length rather than the 3m length ordered. You wrote on 26th August to say the order won't be fulfilled as the profilers are not responding. .

It just seems to have been a series of falsehoods. I had believed that you are a company with facilities to cut your own profiles. I believed you wanted a review because the order had been despatched. I believed you when you said the goods would be delivered on Friday. I am such a mug .....

We're all having a tough time at the moment but no need to lie it's bad enough when those in power do it. Let's not do it to each other.

I purchased a lightly worked oak beam, with the pure protective oil. The beam is very good quality and looks amazing with the oil. The customer service was excellent and delivery was very quick. I would definitely use this company again.

Excellent grade A Hogshead barrel. Great communication throughout the transaction.

The wood quality was decent and the instructions were clear however the fixings were poor, the first turned in the wall as I was screwing it in and the second came out after without any fuss.

After this I emailed them and they refused to supply new ones with a better design - this meant I had to go and buy 50 fixings from Screwfix so I could attach it to the wall adding an unexpected 45% to the total cost. Disappointing really.

Ordered a wine barrel water but a couple of months ago and have to say I am absolutely thrilled with my order. Delivery was much quicker than I anticipated. When we phoned to enquire about the missing tap, as we hadn’t realised it was coming in a separate delivery, we were given lots of hints and tips on how to care for the barrel. I have to say, so pleased with both the order and customer service we are considering another one for our new shed.

Over the moon with our new mantle - we ordered a 3ft beam with pure oil. It was delivered quickly and we love the quality of the oak. Will definitely be looking at the oak shelves next!

Good product and easy to install. I’ve gone in the middle because the wrong fixings were sent with the mantel (122mm fixings for a 122.5mm mantel) Called the office first thing Monday am to ask for new fixings- told ‘hopefully’ we’d get the correct ones by the weekend. Had to wait a full working week to get the new fixings because to save a quid they sent it second class rather than first so we had to wait even longer. Dunno would have thought considering it was 1) their error and 2) in a small envelope that first class wouldn’t have been much more. Would I use again...50/50

Beautiful fireplace mantel which adds an authentic look to our older property and was fairly easy to.install with the structures provided.

We’ve been buying logs from Celtic Timber for the last few years and they have always been top quality. We have used, the hard and soft wood logs, the oak beam cut offs and we we also very impressed with the wood chip for the garden too!

We recently bought a huge oak mantle from Celtic Timber. The quality is fantastic and the wood has great character and really came to life when we oiled it. I was impressed with how well it was packaged and shipped too for such a big heavy piece of oak. It looks fantastic above our fireplace!

We bought some railway sleepers to edge some garden steps. We were shown all the different options and advised on the best option for our project as we didn't need the top grade sleepers. Happy with our choice.

Bought a oak fireplace beam. Came very quickly and was excellent quality. Fixing kit was easy to install and with a coat of oil supplied it looks fantastic. Highly recommended
