Hands down, nothing but con artists. Purchase any cryptocurrency on their app and you will never see it again. They have this elaborate scheme whereby you sign up, go through a verification process, provide proof of residency, get the two factor authentifcation in place and then once you have purchased any crypto ( in my case it was BTC) they freeze it up and make it impossible for you to transfer it to another wallet, send it to anyone, or cash it out and transfer the currency to your financial institution. As for customer service, there literally is none whatsoever in place. I've sent 20 plus emails + never got a single reply over the course of the last two weeks. The only replying they do is through trust pilot when they read your review so as to try to protect their image. They even tell you right on their app to expect to wait up to 5 days to hear from customer service or get any response. And even that is a lie. Have you ever heard of a company that you may have to wait up to 5 days to hear from anybody from customer service. They are a complete fraud, merely stealing people's money. The best advice that I can give anyone is to stay as far away from these thieves as possible.
I have been trying to send my crypto to ledger wallet since 1/18/2025 off of CEX.IO and they refuse to let me. This appears to be a scam site.

This company is a complete fraud. My husband and I signed up on the site, downloaded their App, and upon going through the verification process invested in nearly twenty thousand dollars worth of cryptocurrency. Since doing so we have had our investment somehow frozen up whereby we are unable to do anything with it. We were misled into believing that once the verification process had been completed along with the authentication process that we would have full access to our cryptocurrency. Such has not been the case. We have sent at least a dozen emails, none of which have received a response. At this point we are inclined to believe that this company has stolen our money with no intentions of giving us what we paid for. We are being forced to take legal action. I would strongly suggest that you avoid doing any type of business with these people for fear that the same thing that has happened to us happens to you.

I deposited funds over 4 years ago to this scam platform. I am almost 80 years old and have exactly 465xrp and 91 Ada on the platform when I had access to my account, I have the screenshots to prove it. This money means a lot to me. Now when I try to log on they are asking for all my personal information again as if I am a new user. So I go through the process but I can't complete it as the process always comes up with an error at some stage as if on purpose. So even though they already have my identity which was necesarry to make a deposit, they use this as a scam barrier to not let you access your account. No other crypto exchange does this, to hide behind false KYC policies and steal your money.
*WOW* after a slight missunderstanding, the powerful customer service solved my problem AT ONCE and I am happy to be on board !
Here my overview : Easy to handle menu, very high amount of different token for the wallet. Quick transfers, good savings and very fast staking and unstaking.
One thing there that may tame the joy of being a CEX.IO customer : I transferred about 200 USD in BTC. Other token transfers were always absolutely in range referring to the fees, but this turned out to be ... say different. They charged me over 40 USD fees for the 220 USD in BTC. This is the only reason why I give only 4 stars.

Vey fast withdrawals to bank account ,but terrible with swap commissions. Lost almost 70 used swiping on an account they had 160 used. This is not normal.

UPDATE ON 25 AUGUST 2025. I was struggling to withdraw money from my accounts online and on my mobile app. I needed to get money out as the wallet value had gone up and I wanted a holiday with my daughters. I emailed for help and had to wait 5 days for a response my Taylor, who basically didnt help at all. I got a one sentence answer which didnt address my concerns and didnt resolve the issue.
I emailed twice to try to get another response but I have been ignored. The wallet value has dropped and I have lost £2000 at least and I am still unable to withdraw my money.
This company is a sham and a joke in an age when man can go to the moon, you can get a driverless car and there are robots answering phones. But CEXio are incapable of answering an email within 5 days or even, having a phone help line so that we can chat with someone.
Disgraceful company and I would urge you all to find another wallet for your crypto.
Unsafe and possibly dishonest company. I had an account, made trades and had the app on my phone. I used to log on most days to check what the state of play was and make a few trades. I literally looked at my wallet one day and the following day the app did not recognise my log in and password details and tried to make me register again to get validation.
I contacted them via their remote and useless complaints email where I didnt get a satisfactory response and was told I had cancelled my account.
I had not cancelled my account and my money has disappeared. Funny that!
They seem totally useless and seem to not have a paper trail to tell me where my money went, when my account was allegedly closed and by whom.
I want my money back or my account reopened so that I can see what is in the wallet. If they cannot do this then they need to find my last account balance which I know was around 2023 and basically refund me.
Not a great company. Avoid.
UPDATE - They sent me a reply asking for information that they already have, and no contact email or phone number. Avoid.

Account restricted without notice! I have been using CEX to buy, send and receive crypto. They have been fine. HOWEVER, they scammed me out of almost $400. I deposited funds from my bank by ACH, no problem. I purchased USDT, no problem. Then I went to send it to a wallet, but found no option to do so. When I inquired, they said I could not longer send crypto per their "compliance" dept, but could trade, hold, or withdraw to fiat. All at a fee of course. So I had to withdraw it, and a fee. I then asked they reimburse me the fees because they did not notify me of my "restrictions". Several emails and NO response.

As someone with 11 years of trading experience, I’ve come to expect a basic standard of reliability and professionalism from any exchange, particularly one licensed in the EU. Unfortunately, my recent experience with CEX.IO has fallen short of these expectations.
On February 2nd (Sunday in my local time), I placed a limit buy order for LTC/USD at $83. Despite the price dropping well below this level, even reaching as low as $81 according to CEX.IO's own charts (79 on many others), my order was inexplicably left unfilled. This should not be possible on any functioning exchange with an order book. If there was liquidity available at $81, why was the higher $83 bid not filled first? This defies logic and raises serious questions.
After contacting support for clarification, I received a disappointing response attributing the issue to “low liquidity” and market gaps. Let me be clear: in a proper exchange environment, price cannot simply "skip" higher bids to fill lower ones unless there is no liquidity at the higher price—something that clearly wasn’t the case here (unless I am missing something). This is the kind of response one might expect from an unregulated CFD broker operating out of an unknown jurisdiction—not a reputable exchange.
In addition to this issue, I’ve experienced frequent app freezing and lagging, particularly during fast-moving markets. This is not only frustrating but also detrimental. I experienced this several times while trying to input the order in question, in fact. This was not at a time the market was moving fast.
Screenshots and further evidence are available upon request. And have in fact been already shared by email with CEX.IO.
As of writing this, I’ve yet to receive a satisfactory explanation or an indication that CEX.IO is taking these concerns seriously. If it is that their price chart data comes from somewhere other than their own exchange that is fine too and I am willing to accept it. If it is some fault on my end, I am willing to accept that too. I am unsure about using this service now, however, having used it on and off for years, possibly since 2018.
What’s more is how disappointing their customer service has become. In the early days, if you opened a ticket, someone would even telephone you and solve your issues. Even an assurance that an investigation would be conducted and reported on would have been totally acceptable.
If CEX.IO can provide a reasonable explanation with proof, of what happened, or why I am wrong, I’m fully willing to revise this review, or accept the fault if it is actually mine in some way, and take it down (if that is possible). Because perhaps there is something I am missing here.
However, until then, I cannot in good conscience recommend this platform.

Very high fee for withdraw. As soon as you put your money to their system, you must agree with -50 USD on bitcoin. It is not fair. I suggest using other services like gate.io, they have 5 times lower withdraw fees.

well, 4-5 years ago they seemed to work, now some funds I left there cannot be withdrawn, and I know I can forget about them.
google cex.io, multiple scam alerts and posts, look for them in reddit posts, cex.io created many fake reddit accounts to protect their name. ("qazimrama" user name on reddit, all his comments protecting cex.io), also look at the comments they have on YouTube - low effort comments that are not genuine.
dont put your money in this company, SCAM!!!

Worst Support Eevr. My payment is stuck and i'm asking for help from past few days but they are not replying. Lost my funds. There website is glitchy. Support app is not working on website, i was logged in and messeged them but they saying i'm not logged in.

This company is a scam. I have been trying to withdraw funds from my account for 5 months. There is a simple thing that needs to be resolved, which would have been resolved a long time ago with a legitimate company.
But, here, customer service will start a thread as if they are going to help you, and then disappear from the thread! It has happened to me at least 7 times already.
Please stay away from this "company". It is a scam!

You can deposit money into it, but they will not let you withdraw. They make you contact customer service, but there's no customer service. All my transferred money were lost. Do NOT put money into this site.
