For €230 i got back £125 which is ridiculous, without staff letting you know the rate, the other staff memeber was hiding behind the doors and looking at us like we were crazy for changing money. Once she started counting pounds, when I’ve realized I didn’t want to take it, but it was to late for her😂
this is a total rip off AVOID

We were tied and didn't check properly at Stansted Airport and got thoroughly ripped off
Terrible company and incompetent staff…
Terrible company and incompetent staff with no knowledge!
Didn’t explain the exchange rates when ask g for £200 worth of euros to then be given 175 euros. I challenged them on the 25% difference to be told ‘oh our service charge is £4.99’!
Still doesn’t add up to the 59 euros difference in today’s exchange rates! Absolute rob dogs! No wonder nobody was queuing for them at East Midlands Airport
No zero stars available - they are thieves
No zero stars available - as with others I got charged £248 for €200 - THEFT!!

They charge you more 56 pounds when you buy 300 pound, i found out too late. Dont go there!
Avoid this company
Avoid this company - they hide behind their 0% commission offer and do not mention or offer the buy back rate guarantee which I believe costs around £6. As a result I thought I’d be getting the same rate but I lost over £100 when changing $USD back to £GBP.
Do not use these people or their ATMs
Do not use these people or their ATMs. What an awful exchange rate!!! £250 for 200 euros. The other way round might have been reasonable.
Greedy business
Greedy business. Do not use them at any airport.
Gave 405 British Pounds after fees for $1000.00 Canadian for another family member.
Terrible
Terrible. I paid the fee for buy-back and it was only on collecting the currency that they told me I had limited days to use the service - I wasn’t even going holiday (to use the currency) until after that limited period so it was useless. I’ve asked for a refund mutilple times and had no response.
An unfortunate scam, but karma wins.
Please save yourself the hassle and just go direct to a cash machine abroad. Even if it has a fee it is better than the rate these companies give you. Definitely taking advantage of tourists who are in a rush through the airport and just want some cash before their flight. Customer service is also useless. These bad reviews won’t make a difference because they know that a lot of people are rushing in these situations. Anyway, I hope anyone that is involved in this also suffers the same way they make others. Good day :)
FRAUD/THEFT/INCOMOPETENCE at ChangeGroup Stansted Airport
At Stansted airport I asked for GBP200 worth of Euros and was given 164 euros instead of 230 which would have been correct. When I realized that the value of the euro seemed to have been swapped with the value of the pound, I tried emailing seveal times, I completed the online form and I tried to use the telephone number. I could not reach them or even get an automated email reply, other than from the telephone number that said 'you have reached a number that is not yet in service"! I thought that a simple mistake had been made until I began to search wider for a different way to contact them, and now I see that this is a much bigger and more common problem that I had thought. At the landside desk in Stansted, they also advertize that they do not charge a fee, yet I can see from my receipt that they do indeed charge, but because I was in a hurry to get through customs, I did not realize in time and it was to late to go back and question it. I now think that's what they rely on and that this is not a simple 'mistake' but either opportunistic fraud, corporate theft or sheer incompetence that the desk clerk cannot do the one job she was charged with. The fact that they have no customer service at all where one can complain, makes me suspect it was not the latter.
ChangeGroup ATM at Stansted airport…
ChangeGroup ATM at Stansted airport displayed a completely false exchange rate. I paid £245 for 200 Euros instead of £180, which is what is suggested it would cost.
This must be fraud at the most public level. The government absolutely need to do something about this. And I can see Stansted Airport are already getting hammered for being complicit in such activities.
I'd love to hear how ChangeGroup are justifying their position.
daylight robbery
daylight robbery, charged me £123.36 to withdraw 100Euros as a cashpoint, with little explanation, it displayed a rate which I thought was a good euro to GBP rate, it was actually a really bad GBP to Euro rate.
avoid these people
Be careful
Be careful, avoid this company! In Luton I got 63 pounds for 100 Eur, instead of 86 pounds: service fee- 14,96 %, handling fee - 3 Eur, rate 1,28, instead of 1,15 oficially. The only thing you will hear - "sorry, no refund!". There are allot possitive reviews written by themselves!
Please, avoid them!
Money corp rip off
Money corp Stansted airport tried to rinse me during my time in the departure lounge, I needed 50 euros, I approached the desk and enquired, he quoted me £59 to buy 50 euros! I almost fell over, I questioned if he had that right, I said I’m not selling them back to you, but no, that was their rate, to buy 50 euros I was getting an exchange rate of about 0.85 euros to the pound, the rate anywhere you look is about 1.13 - 1.17 euros to the £, absolute rip off, disgusting profiteering!
Shocking exchange of euros to gbp

Scammed and Robbed Inside the Store
Scammed and Robbed Inside the Store – I Want Justice
I was the victim of fraud and theft at this location – unethical and unsafe.
On June 6th, 2025, I went to ChangeGroup – Currency Exchange (Store 12, Oxford Street) with €250 in cash, at around 1:25 PM.
I handed the money to the clerk and immediately asked how much I would receive in pounds.
She ignored me completely.
She started checking the notes and mentioned vague “rules”, but never informed me of the exchange rate, even though I asked three or four times.
Then, at around 1:27 PM, she abruptly placed £139 on the counter, without any explanation, without asking for my consent, and without showing me the rate.
I said clearly that I did not want to proceed and asked for my euros back.
She responded with coldness:
“There’s nothing that can be done now.”
This was fraudulent behavior. The clerk acted in bad faith, ignored my questions, and treated me with disrespect, arrogance and total lack of transparency.
There were no signs explaining fees or conversion rates, no receipt, no proper service. The atmosphere was hostile, cold, and confusing. I was pressured and misled.
Then, while I was on the phone with the police (call registered at 1:36 PM), a woman who had been in the store for over 5 minutes talking with the staff suddenly grabbed the money from the counter and ran out toward Tottenham Court Road station at around 1:40 PM.
No employee reacted. No one stopped her. No one helped.
I chased her and ended up falling and getting hurt. I have a serious medical condition and this made everything worse.
The police came, registered the case as emergency priority (CAD 3897/05Jun25), and I went to the Charing Cross station to give my statement.
This store is completely unethical and unsafe.
I feel defrauded, humiliated, and physically and emotionally harmed.
I was treated with bad faith, neglect, and zero professionalism.
I strongly believe the clerk’s behavior was intentional and should be investigated.
She acted as if she was trying to hit a target or push the transaction no matter what.
Her attitude was suspicious from the beginning – cold, rushed, and dishonest.
The company must take responsibility for allowing this to happen.
Avoid this business. Do not trust them.
This was a traumatic and unacceptable experience.
My uncle
My uncle, who does not speak English, exchanged $225 and was only given £125. I visited the same branch later the same day and was quoted £170. When I contacted ChangeGroup, they refused to take responsibility or investigate the teller. Very disappointed.
