Attempted to charge vehicle yesterday and today but vehicle failed to charge. Both times the app indicated the vehicle hsd started to chsrge but a few minures later the session stopped.
This company's equipment at one time, in the now distant past, used to be reliable, but now it is a toss up whether the vehicle will get charged. I have reported a faulty charger and nothing has been done. I reported an issue in the past with initiating a charge and a rep promised that somebody would get back to me. Nobody ever got back to me. Apart from the above issues, even finding a spot to charge the vehicle is a problem as the chargers are situated within CPZs, and the company's network is sparse.
Later this morning I have to pick up the car, which is not exactly close by, and hopefully charge it at a Zest charger (22kwh @ 56p per kw). Noteworthy is that the price for using the Zest charger is less than the daytime rate for the Chargy 5kwh charger.
Fortunately the vehicle is due for replacement this year and I can put this nightmare of an EV experiment behind me.
Zest
What a different experience. No driving around to find a free bay for charging as the company has dedicated charging bays within CPZs. Literally seconds to initiate charge and seconds to stop the charging session. The chargy app takes forever to stop the session.

Wish I could put less than 1 star but here we are.
They’ve taken over the charging point on our road in Richmond and since then it hasn’t worked once.
I don’t even get to experience the substantial increase in prices because it doesn’t even work.
Useless

Dreadful company ! Liar and incompetent! As every lamp post charging point they have the pre payment charge which is £25 . However they always take £50 instead and last time my bank had to decline the payment otherwise it would be £75 as they kept requesting payments for the pre charge. My bank advise me to use a different supplier as it happens constantly and when you contact them they won’t do nothing to release your money and blame it on your Bank
It is cheaper but not worse the trouble
I have read your reply but that is not true because you have taken of me £ 50 as the pre authorised payment NOT £25 as you should. But then you tried to get another £25 BUT my Bank declined the payment as a fraudulent transaction.
Please stop lying here.

Charging point recently taken over by Chargy. Never had a problem before but now Chargy has taken over it is not working. Called helpline who said the point has lost its signal. Asked when it would be working and was told they didn’t know “it might be at any time”. Really poor.
I wonder if the person responsible for giving Chargy the contract realised it only scores 3 Stars on Trustpilot.

Awful!
The way they charge you is completely ridiculous! They could simply charge you £50 while they should’ve take £27 , or you see other unknown charges !
Thais happened to on the 3rd and 5th of this January!
I have no trust with them!

Char.gy recently took over most of the Shell/Ubitricity chargers in Teddington and, within just a couple of months, raised prices from 39p/kWh to 59p/kWh — a 50% increase. This comes at a time when wholesale oil and gas prices are falling and forecasts point toward a global recession, so there’s little justification for such a sharp rise.
It’s also unlikely that Char.gy is paying the same electricity rates as a small corner shop (22–26p/kWh). And we’re talking here about 5kW lamp post chargers, which are relatively inexpensive to buy and install. For comparison, Tesla’s 250kW superchargers cost only 37p/kWh during peak times. Go figure.
As for the 20% VAT argument (in reply below) — that’s not a valid explanation. Every business charges VAT.
I used the service regularly before the price hike and was fine with it, even though the summary emails only showed the total cost in GBP rather than the actual kWh charged. But after this increase? No thank you. It feels like a shameful move that undermines customer trust.

After securing a monopoly contract with several local councils, this company started out with their “introductory rate” to make it seem like they were not here to rip you off and now has taken full advantage and has effectively price gouged all the local charge points on lamp posts. The rate has gone up to 60p per kWh and there is nothing you can do about it. Disgraceful business practice and the regulator needs to step in and do something about it

Easy to use and really clever technology being able to connect into existing services. Thumbs up from me. Love innovations like this.
Went to visit a friend and they had one outside their house. So easy to connect and via the app was a couple of clicks and it was charging. Billed at the end and all was very affordable. Keep it up guys.
I previously said that I was happy with char.gy however I am now very disappointed with them. I have a company vehicle and my employer kindly provided me with an Electroverse energy card to enable me to pay for charging the vehicle. Previously, Char.gy had partnered with Electroverse and it was possible to use Char.gy charging points with an Electroverse card. I've just found out that this is no longer possible though because Char.gy no longer offer this provision. This means that I now will have to use an inconvenient charging point that's not that close to my house as the Chat.gy points can no longer be used with an Electroverse card. Char.gy are the same as all other companies. They do what suits them and the convenience of their customers are a low priority for them.

Engineer (Osman) came out and repaired the issue, fast and efficient, well mannered too!
These guys have alot of charge points around south london, however alot need updating (as advised by Osman).
Please guys repair them asap as us EV owners need to keep going and most of us rely on your charge points.
Applied for a suitable position at Char.gy, had high hopes of working here as the role seemed very exciting! Great interviews through all stages, then NOTHING! Not a single email or call with a yes or no! days and several weeks later, still NOTHING. Personally, I think I dodged to bullet on this one.
Thank you for wasting our time, better to know now than after joining!
