I have a ChargePoint card through my company and live in Bordeaux. I discovered this week that the partnership with Freshsmile is no longer available. This now considerably limits my charging options nearby. I am left with the choice of terminals several kilometers from my home (so I have to wait several hours on site) or in private parking lots (I have to stay several hours on site and pay for parking). I even noticed that in a big city like Paris, entire districts are without charging stations. Can you tell me what the situation is and if there are plans to renew the partnership in France or if the problem comes from elsewhere? Thank you.

Had 2 wonderful years with Chargepoint using my works chargers as my sole charging points, however, after my account was hacked last week ( case number 14699709 ) I am financially at a loss and devastated at the abandonment of a loyal customer.

Hacked account. Noticed 10 pre-authorisation transactions coming through one after the other on my bank account. I raised this with the helpdesk to identify the one session that was correct. The person couldn't help with the debit on my account but raised a query with the Finance Department as Critical. 1 week and 5 phone calls later no-one has contacted me to reassure me that this is going to be dealt with. I'm £420 down and feel like I'm hitting my head against a brick wall. The poor person on the helpdesk is not allowed to give out numbers or transfer to someone who can resolve. Very very poor customer service. All I can say is someone has been having a blast round London at our expense!! What a shambles and what a poor poor service for what I thought was a reputable company

My account has been hacked, complaint raised two weeks ago and I’m still waiting for someone to contact me. Despite numerous calls and trying to email them (with countless bounce backs) my account is still not sorted and facing a credit card bill on transactions that aren’t mine. Do not trust this company and do not have your bank account details linked to the app

Cool and slick at first. Terrible customer service. Terrible product. Two months after installation the charger malfunctioned and I still wasn't able to get in touch with anyone from their company. We switched to a smaller company and we're so happy. I would recommend KWEV over chargepoint.

The APP AUTOMATICALLY LOAD $10 WITHOUT MY CONSENT! The app was set as PAY AS YOU GO FOR YEARS!! like my Tesla app!!
The station in question display show first 4 hours FREE station then it charge $.10/kwh after 4 hours. But now I see it a charge a $.25/kwh for ENERGY RATE??? After couple phone call with really broken English which sometime is hard to understand and email. They refund the $9 in payment but would not refund the $.25/kwh charge without a picture of the station display. The station is near a hiking trail an hour away from my home!!!
SO BEWARE HOW THIS APP AUTOMATICALLY BILL YOU FOR $10 AND SET IT ON AUTO RELOAD WITH OUT YOUR PERMISSION!!!

The physical charging experience was fine. However, I activated the session by setting up an account in the app with a credit card. Instead of simply charging me for the charging session, they charged $10, from which they deducted the charge for the actual session. They further declared that they will automatically add $10 to my account when the balance falls below $5. None of this was mentioned in advance, unless it was buried in pages and pages of illegible T&Cs. And the charger itself could accept direct credit card payment. They are scamming customers to hold funds unnecessarily.
Despite the ChargePoint reply, nothing is changed here. You have a valid credit card on file. If desired, you could put a hold on that card for a certain amount before authorizing charging. Instead, you've chosen to hold customer funds hostage, and without making this transparent or offering reasonable alternatives. This means that you are actually charging more for your service than the advertised rate due to the overcharge and holding of funds. This is scamming your customers.

We ordered the wrong part. They would n't take it back. After a long conversation, they issued a return order. We FedExed it and no refund of $212 approx.
Called back, wrote email; they said they could not process it without the tracking number. Got the tracking number from FedEx and emailed it. Noreply. Theyclosed the case.

This is my worst experience with charging. They deducted £50 from my account when I was registering on their application and then deducted a further £10 when I started a session. I want my money back if you aint a scam
I got my money back and customer care was reassuring. The first experience was a bit traumatic but they hve a good service

Absolutely terrible. One of the most expensive home chargers on the market with non-existent customer support. Will work for half-a-year then it's garbage. Get any other brand's charger, stay away from this as far as you can get.

**WARNING DO NOT USE CHARGEPOINT**
I went to open an account yesterday at my local chargepoint. It wanted £50 preauthorisation charge...estimating £45 for 15 minutes charge. No chance.
Decided to charge elsewhere on my journey.
Unfortunately I ended up at a different chargepoint on the a42. I tried 9 times to charge my car... and was charged 9 times.. but my car Didn't charge. Called the helpline to be met by an utterly useless woman who Didn't apologise for rinsing my bank account. I was in tears at this point. Another driver explained that you have to firmly hold in the charger as it authenticates. What?????
The lovely man paid for my charge as I had no money left. Without him I'd have been stranded.
24 hours later they still have my money. Luckily I drove to a gridserve one after and had no issues.
My advice... steer clear.
I thought it was illegal to make profit from reselling energy. How do these guys get away with it?

**WARNING DON'T USE CHARGEPOINT**
While travelling back from our holiday we used the chargepoint EV charger at York Designer outlet today. I wish I had read these reviews first. Initially I tried to use my bank card twice and it didn't work, just stating "declined". With no warning I have since found this took a pre authorisation of £15 each time. I didn't realise this at the time so I unknowingly went on to download the app. Again, with no warning I have since learnt this took a further £50 pre authorisation, just for using the app. I then charged my car, which cost a total of £5.98 for 1 hour 30 minutes and when I arrived home I received an email saying don't worry, we'll keep topping your account up when it falls under £10!! This led to me checking my bank and finding for a £5.98 charge a total of £90 had been taken/held from my account. I tried to contact customer service and couldn't and tried to remove my card details and couldn't. It won't let you take your deal off their app. It's absolutely shocking as it seems I've now been signed up to a subscription without me realising and with it not being clear. I'm hoping eventually the pre authorisations will drop off but like others they have charged me £10 for a £5.98 charge with no way of getting a refund for the rest. I've had to freeze them taking anything more given my "chargepoint account" is below their £10 credit rule, despite me not living close to a chargepoint. Awful. Take my advice and keep away from this company. It's not worth the stress or expense. I have let the designer outlet know but I anticipate there is nothing they can do in this situation.
HOME FLEX worked great in the first month, but now it loses the wi-fi connection and fails every charging session. I have to go to the breaker (I am crippled and breaker box in basement, so I drag my butt down a stair at a time), turn off, turn back on, reset the WIFI (access point is 9 inches away in same wall). Half the time, won't connect to the network. When it does connect, the charging session will last anywhere from 2 to 30 minutes. Support is terrible, I entered multiple tickets with no response. can't make a warranty claim because the app won't let you enter the station's MAC address as it does not accept the ":". Wish I had spent the extra $200 and bought the Ford hard-wire charger. I am now stuck with slow charge for the Mustang Mach 3 or paying out the nose for FAST CHARGE. $1800 for the installation of a unit that does not work. Suggest looking past this one.

This is possibly the worst app and the worst service overall. The app is designed to waste your time. Besides, they don't put any effort in maintaining the stations.

I used this charger as it was the only available in the area, and after spending about £5 on charge, the company later informed me my balance had gone below £10 so they had' topped up' my account. This is outrageous, storing customers; money without warning and without reason. Even if it is mentioned in the small print somewhere, it stinks! Very dishonest and unnecessary. And the worst thing is its almost impossible to get it back, or even complain about it because their online form asks for a MAC address/code which I cannot find. I'm fuming! AVOID!!!!

Just cant stop charging my car. Try to contact the client service. What a disaster !!! Try to explain more than 10 Times the problem but the guy always ask me stupids questions instead of stopping the charge. I will do a few kilometers more to use another company charging point.
I used a ChargePoint public charger at a hotel recently. It worked well, first time, but was very expensive. It was made even more expensive by the fact that every time your balance goes below £5, £10 is automatically taken from your bank account to top it up!
I left the hotel with over £8 credit on my account - credit that I am not likely to get back ever as there are no ChargePoint chargers near me! Basically, they have stolen money from me. I should’ve just used one of the other mini chargers nearby!
In response to the reply below, I’m not sure how I can reply with my email address without adding it to this review (which I don’t want to - I get enough SPAM as it is!). Please provide me with your contact details, and I will send it.

8 chargers at my local supermarket and non work. Been installed for over a year and never worked.

I have chargers at work. These chargers are not reliable in their operation. This company is the reason potential ev customers won't choose a non-Tesla. If they could improve their infrastructure and reliability, then it would give people more confidence that if they select a non-Tesla, we won't be stranded due to the low quality machines. Chargepoint get your act together. I want to use your product but you are making me regret my decision to purchase another manufacturer outside of Tesla.
