This company was recommended to me and I didn't read any reviews prior to accepting their quotation. Following my experience with them I am surprised to see the negative reviews.
My experience was positive from the quotation stage to them carrying out the work.
The team reduced my very large eucalyptus tree and left the site in a very tidy state.
They were polite, punctual and efficient and I would not hesitate to use them again.

They came to cut down an Ash Tree in the back yard of a Terraced House which was confined and taller than the actual house. There were two of them and arrived on time. They took just over an hour to take it down, leaving me plenty of firewood. They were real professionals and tidied up afterwards and not expensive in my opinion. I can't fault these guys at all.

If I could award zero stars I would.
I have had the unfortunate experience of speaking with (the owner) whilst enquiring about cutting back my trees and trimming a hedge . I thought that the poor attitude and rudeness was perhaps a one off and tried again as I needed the work doing. However, on both occasions his attitude has been dreadful and I am surprised that this company is still in business with the way he speaks to potential customers.

I have since mentioned this to the company that I am now using to carry out the work and have been told that they have heard this from other customers.

Avoid would be my suggestion

Since my first review about Charnwood trees, I have since had to get another tree company in to sort out my silver birch in the front garden, which Charnwood trees cut so badly and left a lot of branches in the tree which had died.. The new firm, who did an excellent job, said it was a really awful job that Charnwood trees had previously done. I do not recommend Charnwood trees.

Charnwood trees were given the job of trimming my hedge and reducing three trees plus a shrub. I had to call them back to redo the hedge which wasn’t cut properly, plus one tree which was hardly reduced at all.
They came back and re-trimmed the hedge and cut the tree back as requested. Fair enough! A week or so later I noticed all dead leaves/branches at the top of the second tree, which is my front garden, I telephoned and also emailed Charnwood about this but they were most unhelpful! I since discovered the branches had been cut off but left within the tree to die. The tree is too high for me to get the branches down, although I managed to get a few off with the help of a sweeping brush and standing on a step ladder, not easy!
The third tree was well trimmed but most of the cuttings were left amongst my roses below.

The team doing the job, who were pleasant enough but they seemed inexperienced. They were also very expensive. I wouldn’t recommend them and won’t be using them again.
