Horrible business model that preys on those who have had a poor financial history.
Bully tactics and horrible staff, no personality or patience.

AVOID AVOID AVOID this dreadful company. Do not be taken in by them whatsoever.

Disgusting company. Meant to help yet have now left me in more debt by charging £218. I have told them I don't have the money as my partner recently lost his job due to PTSD. They are harassing me non-stop.

One star is too much! Avoid at all costs. Apart from high fee rates(higher than other reclaim companies) they scammed me to pay fees that they weren't entitled to due to being restricted by the FSA. When I challenged them, they continued to lie and threatened me with incurred costs if I didn't pay. Needless to say I paid then made a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service (long process) they agreed that they weren't entitled to the fee and ordered to repay it. Charterhouse ignored the ruling and chase ups ftom the FOS, so my last resort was to take them to a small claims court. I finally got my money back, but they dragged that out too! To this day I'm still receiving emails from them to instruct them to recover unfair costs/tax costs. There are better companies out there so avoid these at all costs!! This was 2020 and can see from online reviews they've clearly not changed ..how they are not restricted by the FSA now or shut down is beyond me

DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS to deal with your claims as they lie to their customers…so I had a offer letter sent from h and t pawnbrokers telling me they will be refunding me as compensation for a unaffordable loan they had provided in past without relevant checks..filled out nominated form with bank details and this email was sent by Charlie Dwyer-Seddon who also confirmed my details had been sent to h and t pawnbrokers and payment will be within two weeks..

The next day I get an email back from Charlie Dwyer-Seddon that they have been told that h and t have readdressed the refund to lower my loan balance! Telling me that it was all a confusion and error..Are you having a laugh? The email previously he sent showed the offer letter from h and t and how do you suddenly make up a lie to withhold a persons refund?

I had all in intention that once I was refunded and finically stable I would pay charter claims for my claim success but when I am struggling financially having a three year old child and family to provide for as well as suffering from mental health having to also deal with the cost of living crisis then doing this has shown lack of empathy, duty of care to their customer and unprofessional, irresponsible and dishonesty in work ethic and morals…now they want me to wait 56 days for my complaint to be filled..reporting to the financial ombudsman and citizens advice as I had already read the reviews of this company for their scamming lying unprofessionalism but I still went ahead and put my faith in them! Stay well away from these guys they will lie and not care if their customer is suffering financially or from mental health!

The only reason I feel like they are being awkward is because I called to find out how much they would take for fees so by lying to me doesn’t resolve things or upholding my payment and making me wait when you have promised something is absolutely appalling customer service!

this is a company that are only in it for the fees, the service is appalling and they don't give a monkey about you and the customer service is non-existent!
it took a court case to get satisfaction!!
