Most used car checks in Ireland tell you about the car’s history: previous owners, write-offs, finance. We go further. We analyse the actual listing: the engine, the mileage, the timing belt status, the known fault patterns for that exact make and model, the motor tax, and the NCT risk. You get a full risk report in under a minute, straight from the listing URL. Currently supporting DoneDeal listings, with Cars.ie, AutoTrader Ireland, and DoneDeal dealer pages coming soon. Our goal is simple: wherever you’re shopping for a used car in Ireland, CheckMyCar will work there too. Our engine database covers over 160 Irish and UK car models, with real-world information on timing belt intervals, known failure patterns, and what to watch for at a test drive. We cross-reference our own database against live external sources including vehicle history databases and official DVSA records to give you the most complete picture possible. We flag the things sellers don’t mention: the timing chain that rattles on cold starts, the wet belt that needs replacing, the gearbox that’s notorious for juddering. Was about to buy a car on DoneDeal and said I will do a quick car check and saw from the car had previously been in a crash. There was no report about this from the seller so so happy I did the check as this has saved me thousands in the long run.

I bought a volvo c30 last year without checking checkmycar (its now broken down and needs a new clutch) i put the same reg and details in to checkmycar to see if it would have caught it and it came out saying that since the car is 15 years old the important things to get checked would be the exhaust and clutch. Both dust now…..

I honestly don’t know where this has been all my life, as someone who has bought multiple cars throughout the last number of years and got stung in some terrible deals where everything appeared perfect but it really wasn’t, steered me away from buying 2 cars that I was going to buy without question and landed me with the much smarter choice, happier all around

I used this buying my 4 series out of a garage in Dublin and it turned out it had be a write off in the U.K. checked before I payed a deposit so it saved me a lot of heartache.. would recommend to anyone buying a car

Incredible service
Incredible service! I used this app before buying my Mercedes and it gave me real peace of mind by checking the car’s health properly before I made the purchase.
It let me know the right questions to ask the owner and gave me a price range.
