Absolute deceptions, please refrain from purchasing anything from these websites. I remitted £5.95 in March 2025, and they subsequently withdrew £39.90 in April 2026, with an attempt to debit more in... See more

I wish there was an option to leave a review without any stars. This website is a scam. Never use this. I downloaded just one-off car history check report and they attempted to take £39.90 by making a false subscription. Just hungup the phone talking to Frauds Team of my bank. Never ever use this website.

Fell into same trap as everyone else on these reviews, site is very misleading, I thought I was paying for a one time check at 5.95 then 2 days later 39.90 taken from my account, apparently you have a 48 hour cooling period but again this is not clear, managed to speak to the call centre and speak to a very rude woman who may awell said oh well that's tough you can now join the other mugs 🤣, she did cancel my subscription or so she said so will have to speak to bank. Should of checked this site first same as my now colleagues, anyway now 40 quid poorer please beware total scamming website

I only paid for a £5.99 check then within 48h they took £39.99, I logged in to the website which it lets me do, then tried to cancel and it tells me that the email address is wrong so will not let me cancel, I only have 2 email addresses and neither would allow me to cancel but would let me log in. I tried calling the customer service number which advertises is open until 8 pm at 6.50pm only to be told to call back during office hours! Also click the email address on the contact us page and it will take you to page not found. An Absolute scam, I have had to report this as a scam to my bank to attempt to recoup my money and prevent further payments. All reviews, over 2000 are 1 star, that many people cannot be wrong!

Scam will save your card details and take money from your account monthly this way you are not able to cancel the subscription as it does not show up as one with your bank.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS!
Ive only paid for a one time car check with them, then they collected £39.90 from my account without my authorisation.

Reply from Checkmycar
I have fallen into the same trap as others and found I have been charged the £39.90 monthly for the past 16 months and not noticed. I have requested a full refund and contacted the bank to block this company and they have re-credited my account and will wait for a response from these thieves because that is what they are. They need to be arrested and charged.

Believe the reviews! This company does not communicate with you, gives no notification regarding subscription, no receipt of payment, no account details, no history of searches and just believes it can take money based on the ‘full report’ reference immediately after the check. Do not use this site. If you want to check a vehicle use any other site, like CarVertical. This is a scam front.

If i could give this company "0" stars I would! Fraudulant company,AVOID at all costs.
As others have said, you pay what you think is £5 fee to check on car you may be buying and then they take £39 a month out of your bank! This company has been taking money from my account since July 24! My bank alerted me today! I am waiting for a call back from check my car. They owe payments back from July 24! Will update you all on here of the outcome.I will be taking this further. Sneaky, scam company!

This company fraudulently took £39.90 from my credit card for a subscription I did not want or authorise. When I contacted them, they denied taking any payment, even after I sent clear proof from my credit card statement. Their dishonesty is shocking.
I’ve now reported the issue to Mastercard for investigation. My advice: stay well clear of this company, they blatantly lie and cannot be trusted.
**UPDATE**
Your subscription details and cancellation terms are not clearly displayed prior to payment confirmation — if they were, there wouldn’t be so many negative reviews from customers with the same issue.
You initially claimed to have no record of taking a £39.90 payment from my credit card for a subscription. However, after I raised the matter with Mastercard, you have now asked for the claim to be stopped and confirmed that a refund will be issued within 20 days.
This entire experience has shown nothing but incompetence and a lack of honesty throughout the process.

Just another victim to warn everyone not to use this service. This is a complete scam. I've lost £199.50 for 5 recurring payments of £39.50. They automatically put you on a recurring subscription and try their best to hide it, like leeches. These charges are not clear and you won't get any invoices even if they have your email. I've been told that I won't be refunded as I "subscribed" to the offer. Check your bank entries NOW for "checkmycar" and stop funding these scammers!!

This company is a SCAM. Like to many others, I was charged £40 as a direct debit I never accepted or applied for

Paid for a one off car check and was unknowingly signed up a subscription. Only realised the next day when the payment went out my bank. Tried to email but the email they provide to these reviews does not exist. Managed to get through to customer service and they cancelled the subscription but refused to refund the money they took. Have reported to my bank and will also be contacting trading standards.
The person on the phone was also rude.

Absolutely disgrace! Trick u into a subscription! Dont use this to check ur car, they will set up a subscription u cant cancel!! Paid like 5£ for a check and since they taking 29.90£ a month, cant cancel!! Reported as fraud and blocked them!

Another unhappy customer. The subscription info is totally hidden when you are requesting an only one time service. So i am finding out a debit for 39.90 from my bank account, even worse, i did the process through zilch, that has a terrible service regarding scams, fraud and disputes.
About the response from this "company". You have nothing like transaparency. The subscription is totally hidden. During the process the option is one or more than one car to check. That's it. And Im not the only person with this experience. You have no other review than people having the same situation than me.
I already sent the email to your "team". They promptly didnt reply...obviously.
It is really disgusting and frustrating. Is almost unpossible to search info or one time service online without the risk to be trapped and scamned for this kind of "companies"

This should be 0! Paid, website locked up and I couldn’t do anything. Now notice they’ve taken the money!
Update November 2025. So I rang. Got the rude woman who told me I was inept and I should have cancelled my free trial. I’ve NEVER been sent any login details and in the mobile site, there’s no login area. Hmmmmmmm….. Trading Standards anyone?!

Reply from Checkmycar
They instantly sign you up for their subscription and charge you £39.99 2 days after paying for a report. Their terms state that they only sign you up to the subscription when you ask....complete rubbish. Avoid this company.

Reply from Checkmycar
Be careful i paid £5.99 for a check on 1 car if you don't let them know that you don't want to have the subscription they automatically charge you £39.90 a month.
Absolute scam!!!!
