Door dash uses this background check but I don't even remember giving DD permission. Regardless, my background check came through and it showed inaccurate information. I'm currently disputing it. It's funny to me because I was simultaneously getting a background check from another job which is directly through the state I'm in and connected to the national database. This very detailed report didn't show the information from checkr. It claimed I had a misdemeanor in a state I didn't even live in and if the background actually looked, it would easily see this couldn't even be possible. The misdemeanor was for expired plates. So how do I have expired plates in a state I didn't even live in. Doesn't make any sense. I don't trust this background check

This is the third time that I completed…
This is the third time that I completed a background check administered by Checkr over the past few years, as a part of a background check to begin working as an independent contractor.
The previous two jobs that also required the completion of a background check by Checkr were rather "odd jobs" (Lyft, DoorDash) from my perspective, considering that I hold a M.A. in Education. This time, the recruiter hiring independent language interpreters for federal agencies initiated part of the background check with Checkr.
I am noticing that all of such background check processes likely involve human judgment... and a common denominator that establishes and enforces a basic but a fundamental level of trust, for safety & civic life in the U.S..
Well, I appreciate how efficient Checkr is in completing the background checks of individuals to contribute to such-- including me. I find the categories of the background checks that it completes to be quite informative & useful.
