I was travelling from USA on vacay and needed an Rx. I visited the Hobart City Centre location. The chemist empathized (I was in a lot of pain and discomfort) and despite being busy he provided a consult. I was relieved because I was not sure what my other options were. ER didn't make sense. And no clue where the GP practices are. I was grateful I secured my consult with a prescription and was on my way to recovery. Thank you!

Warning about buying online thru CWH

A big warning about buying anything with a CWH online order: I was told by Carnegie store "we don't keep it (blood pressure monitor) in-store - you need to do an on-line order". So went ahead accordingly. Product arrived from USA -totally unusable from onset - just flashes odd numbers. CWH/IWorld just farmed my complaint off to some electrical place who appear to specialize in repairing record players - they charge big money for delivery to/from. What lower level of service can CWH reach?

Racist and Elitist Behavior

I’ve been stopped at Chemist Warehouse multiple times to have my bag checked — always when I’m wearing casual clothes like a puffer jacket or gym wear. Meanwhile, other customers walk out freely without being questioned.

This is not about security. It’s about prejudice.

It’s happened enough times for me to say: there’s a clear pattern of discriminatory treatment based on appearance.

No customer should be made to feel like a suspect just for looking a certain way. I hope others speak up too.

Poor Service and No Accountability at Chemist Warehouse

I recently went to Chemist Warehouse ( at Turnstall Square Donvale, Melbourne) to get **two prescriptions** filled. Instead, I was given **three medications**, including one I never requested. When I asked about it, the pharmacist, William, said their records showed I was running low. I couldn’t recall exactly how much I had left at home, but I’m normally very on top of my medications and only request a refill when needed. He assured me I could return it if I found I didn’t need it.

Two days later, I went back after confirming I didn’t need the extra medication & brought the 5 months balance I had left as evidence. That’s when I was told the person who served me was a **student**, and that I couldn’t return the UNOPENED, SEALED BOX ( 1.5 days old) because they couldn’t verify how it had been stored even though the box instructions said to store at room temperature. They also informed me the medication would have to be destroyed — meaning a complete waste, through **no fault of my own**.

As a regular customer, I found this incredibly disappointing. I was out of pocket, wasted time , fuel cost traveling back, and received a “ standard apology blah blah “ , no compensation for a mistake made by their staff. The lack of accountability and customer service was clear.

After this experience, I have advised all my patients, friends, family, clients not to use their services, & I will definitely not be returning to Chemist Warehouse after 15 years as a customer.

Dissappointing

It's a grand place but the ageism in there is crazy. As soon as i walk in as a teenager, i am IMMEDIATELY followed around the whole shop by the sercurity guard. I understand that people my age steal but oh my god its so annoying and it's so rude and I never buy anything there because of it

Online order

Online order, took my money and postage cost. Then said only 1/4 was available and if i cancel id still have to pay postage. So took the 1/4.

Then order click and collect from local store. Again, said available and took my money. 2 weeks later said not available and I could cancel or wait. I waited... as I purchased when on sale. 3 weeks later said I could take 1/4 again and the rest were not available. Went to pick up and the other 3/4 were on the shelf. I had to buy then at full price and collect my other pre purchased.

Horrific service

I’ve had an extremely disappointing experience at Chemist warehouse Shirley. The staff appear to be quite young and, unfortunately, lack basic social skills and professional manners. There seems to be a culture of unhelpfulness, with staff prioritizing personal conversations over assisting customers — even during operating hours.

On this particular occasion, I arrived to collect a prepaid order that I had a text to say was ready for collection, only to be told I couldn't receive it with no explanation other then "Because I said so". When I questioned this, a very young staff member with glasses and a pony tail argued with me instead of offering a solution- I had clearly interrupted a personal convo. Her attitude was immature and, frankly, snarky — not what you’d expect from a business meant to serve the community- I left without my order and was bluntly told to come back tomorrow- my son made the order for me online for me too pick up and used my Cellphone number to receive the confirmation, he said this was not standard practice with online orders?

I’ve been a loyal customer of Chemist Warehouse since it first opened in New Zealand — probably when this staff member was still in primary school — and after this experience, I won’t be returning to Chemist warehouse Shirley.

Bought online an Oste vit Vit D for 90…

Bought online an Oste vit Vit D for 90 tabs in April 2025. The staff in Liverpool gave a medicine that will expire in 3 months being July from the date of purchase. When I bought this item, I still have at least 50 more tabs and generally, they should give at least minimum 1 year shelf life. I raised this irresponsible and impetuous action to the attention of customer support and received an email advice that someone will contact me. At this stage, I never heard any reply via email or phone to organise replacement. No quality control so BE CAREFUL and ALWAYS watch out for the expiry dates, the staff who organised this just wants to get rid of the product at the expense of customers' well-being. VERY POOR-quality control and customer service, deserved one star rating.

Ignorant management

Store in Long Gully, Bendigo. Waited over 40min to get a prescription filled. Had to complain to find out that they never put the script into the system. they also did this to others as well. when people are getting their scripts when placing them after mine, questions should be asked. I took my script from them and went to go elsewhere. On my way out I tried to make a complaint and the manager refused to take the complaint and had me kicked out of the store. I WILL NEVER GO TO ANY CHEMIST WHAREHOUSE FROM NOW ON. They have a procedure to follow and failed to follow this. As a franchise, the management of this store need to be re-trained and the staff also. WORST CHEMIST IN AUSTRALIA.

FAKE AND EXPIRED PRODUCTS

Not even one star. ZERO stars. Beside the fact that you’re treated as a thief from the the very first moment you access the shop, their products are either expired either fake products. I have bought a Chanel hair fragrance and has nothing in common with the real product. I know Chanel very well, I use this product from a very long time and I can’t be fooled.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP !

HAS ZERO RESPECT FOR THE COSTUMERS.

A few weeks ago

A few weeks ago, a perfume was advertised on the website for $49 Roberto Cavalli Uomo 100ml for man, I bought it immediately, after 3 days I received an email saying that they had refunded my money with the excuse that the perfume was out of stock, after a few minutes when I read the email, I went to the website and checked, the perfume was not out of stock but they just increased the price to $89 which means that they do not stick to what they advertise.

After that I went to test the perfumes and came to the conclusion that the perfumes are not original, I do not know where they get them from but based on the quality and durability I think they come from Singapore or India, because they do not last longer than 5 minutes. Besides, they look at you like a criminal when you enter. DO NOT ENTER THAT STORE instead you have BARGAIN CHEMIST, the staff works much better and they are more friendly...

RUDE CASHIER

Casula Cross Road (NSW) branch cashier name Sabrina did not want to sell 2 items due to Pharmacy medicine. After an argument, she RUDELY refuse to sell me that medicine even 1 item. The store management should encourage all staffs to have POLITE conversation with customers.
Avoid this store at all cost.

Pathetic Service

Would not purchase from again. Usless customer service. They take your money and then you receive not one product not even a follow up email. Products were held via Australia Post because of damage. And then sent back to store not one email from Australia Post or Chemist Wharehouse still awaiting refund. Do not trust!

Product not fit for purpose

I purchased eye drops yesterday from Chemist Warehouse, but upon using one ampoule, I experienced severe irritation—my right eye became very red and stung intensely. The product had an unusual, thick consistency, which seemed abnormal. Concerned, I returned to the store immediately to report the issue.

I was referred to the store manager, who introduced herself as Tina. However, at no point did anyone ask if I was okay or express any concern for my well-being. Instead, I was informed that a refund could not be issued because I had opened the box. I explained that there was potentially something wrong with the product, but my concerns were completely disregarded. Despite the fact that the eye drops were not fit for purpose and caused me substantial irritation, they refused to offer a refund or even an exchange for another product.

I was appalled by the way I was treated. As a loyal customer who has spent a significant amount of money at the store over the years for both myself and my family, this experience has left me extremely disappointed. Given the circumstances, I expected at least some level of concern and a reasonable resolution, neither of which were provided.

The Competition and Consumer Act 2010 clearly states a product has to be fit for purpose, this one was not.

I will never shop at Chemist Warehouse again as they have no regard for their customers but also I will convey my experience with regards to the eye drops that were possibly defective to all that I know and will file a complaint with consumer affairs
