Absolutely awful removal company

Absolutely awful removal company. Delivered a shipment knowing items were missing. No communication to the fact?
Weeks later eventually found missing items, no sense of urgency to have our items delivered. Absolute joke.

$12500 worth of items STOLEN

$12500 worth of items STOLEN
Dodgy and dishonest. Chess Moving Brisbane relocated my belongings from Brisbane to Perth in May and the first sign of all things not being equal is when the inventory was very incomplete, I had items arrive that wasn't listed on the inventory, a recipe for things to go missing. I also had about $12500 worth of items stolen, my boxes were opened, items removed, and filled up with other items and resealed. I also had guitars, a lawnmower, whipper snippers, suitcase, tools, care and bike care products, a golf set worth over $4000 and more stolen. Chess moving Brisbane refused to accept responsibility for this, of course. Very disappointing, I'd DEFINITELY not recommend Chess Moving Brisbane. If you want a professional company who will take absolute care of your belongings then please find someone else.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I first engaged Chess moving for a small amount of basic house hold items to be moved from Perth to Brisbane. I had my items temporarily held at their storage facility in Archerfied until I added more items from a storage container I had in Brisbane. Once all items were together, it was then sent on a truck to Cairns (final destination) with Faulkner removals (a subsidiary company of Chess Removals.)

The issues that I then endured over the next few months were as follows. Delivery Dates that were promised were blown out by weeks. Items were delivered to random addresses mixed in with other people's belongings, Multiple items went missing and have never been recovered. Many emails and phone calls that were promised and never returned. Mishandled inventory resulting in unrecoverable loss of items, Misinformation of delivery details, damage to multiple items. The amount of incompetence I endured from this organisation was out of this world. Do yourself a massive favour and go elsewhere, even if it costs a few more dollars. Please note I do not know if the items that vanished into thin air happened between Perth and Brisbane or Brisbane to Cairns.

Will not remove packing material

They were very good and bringing boxes into the house and unpacking. But it has been weeks of asking them over and over again to come and remove the packing material but no joy. Don't let them leave your property with the promise that they will return to collect the packaging.

Absolutely Appalling Experience using Faulkner Removalist and Chess Moving

We hired Faulkner removals assisted by Chess Removals to move our belongings from Victoria to Queensland.
Our experience has been far from satisfactory and in-fact traumatic from start to finish.

After some mis understanding with our quote, acceptance, query and payment, and threats of removing our load from your delivery schedule several times, we were finally greeted from a member of your team and a truck a day late and on the 23rd December.

Upon arrival of the truck, a man and his 13 year old son introduced themselves to me. He mentioned that he had picked his son up in Townsville that day to come and stay with him for holidays. Our first impression was that of “how is this man and his young son going to safely get out belongings off the truck, as it took 2 strong men to put in on the truck in Rutherglen.

In any case, we went out to the truck to view the contents and my sister and I realised that in-fact it was not our belongings that we could see. After mentioning this to the driver, the driver absolutely lost the plot, swearing, cursing, and was extremely angry. To the point that my sister and I were considerably afraid.

After the driver through some items out of the truck, we could see that our items were tightly and neatly stored at the rear of the truck.

He proceeded to throw our mattresses on the lawn, whilst still yelling and screaming.

My sister and I quickly went inside to call someone to take control of this driver, as I was extremely concerned about him transporting our valuables from the truck into the house in the state he was in. This was when I called Steve. Steve told me he knew nothing about the delivery and ended the call. I then called your office. The person who received my call said that they would call me back. I waited for what seemed a while, before I called again to explain the urgency. By this time, the driver was threatening to not remove the loan from the truck. He was extremely upset as our delivery was supposed to be the last and that he was supposed to finish up the day before.

He eventually received a call, and then another. Finally he commenced unloading the truck. The first box he carried in was contained some of my most valued possession ie. “my dogs ashes”, which he dropped on the bitumen. The contents fell out and the box particularly fell apart “A hard plastic Crate”

He continued to bring boxes into our garage. He then asked to use our toilet. At which time, both he and his son used the toilet.

It was very difficult to watch this man struggle with our belongings, and my sister and I felt obligated to assist with bringing the boxes in as, they did not seem to be coping at all. My sister has had 2 hip replacements and now has a strained back as a result of lifting heavy boxes.

Eventually, everything was brought into the garage and we had to ask the driver to assemble our beds and tables etc as we were told that was part of the service.

The last thing the driver unloaded was my webber bbq. The driver attempted to carry it alone, “refusing our assistance”. And as a result put a 2 metre scratch along the surface of my back decking.

During the unpacking of our items, we found a broken mirror, glasses a light, bent candelabras and sone other small broken items. In addition, there as a very heavy pot plant stacked on top of a labeled “VERY FRAGILE”. Box. The box was intended and if it weren’t for my sister’s and my quality packing, the contents would have been broken.

We requested a $2,000 refund for all we encountered which included re-painting of our back decking, physio bills and other breakages. They refused and told us they were sorry for the experience but we weren't covered by insurance, which for $7,500 we thought we were not to mention we received one Removalist which is an unrealistic ask when it comes to moving heavy and awkward furniture and items.

We are still completely traumatised by the whole experience from start to finish.

I recommend using a different company other than Faulkner (QLD). in conjunction with Chess Moving.
