Tia Chiminea damaged part speedily replaced

We ordered a large Tia Steel Chiminea the order came through promptly but unfortunately the base bowl was damaged/ dented and did not seat correctly
We were initially a bit perturbed that there wasn’t a telephone contact number for Chiminea shop and thought maybe buying something like this online had been a mistake
We emailed Chiminea shop explaining the issue and sent a photo of the damaged part
We received a reply from Joe a couple of days later advising that he had organised a replacement part which we would receive within a week … it actually arrived only 3 days later
Thank you Joe for your efficiency the Chiminea is now assembled and looks great

Excellent communication

I ordered a medium Chiminea for our courtyard. A very large box was delivered which contained an Extra large mode. I contacted the shop by email ( no phone number available) with some trepidation after reading the 1star reviews.
Joe immediately contacted me, on a Sunday and when was on holiday. He had sent the only size he had, hoping this was acceptable for me. Unfortunately it was too big for the courtyard.
He refunded the money straight away and arranged for its collection after we had returned from holiday.
Thank you Joe for your excellent communications and service-5 star.

Faulty item - no response to arrange refund

I purchased a garden table cover from their sister site garden leisure shop. The box was ripped and the cover was ripped in multiple places near the drawstrings when received.

I have tried contacting both garden leisure shop and chiminea multiple times by email and Facebook messenger, as they have no contact phone number, to try and arrange a return and refund but I have had no response. The website clearly states to return an item you have to contact customer services which is a load of rubbish if they don’t bother to reply.

I recommend you do not purchase from this shop unless you want to lose your money.

Goods and service

I purchased a Toledo Cast Iron Chiminea order number 132708. Cost £179.99. The wrong main flue was sent, a decorative version rather than plain. Furthermore due to the wrong flue being sent it does not align with the top flue. The chiminea shop promise replies within 24 hours to customer queries. I contacted the chiminea shop and it took 3 days to reply. They did offer to send a replacement. However they have now sent a wrong replacement flue. I have made them aware again however have received no communications at all. There is no contact number and no acknowledgement of emails. So I am now currently left with a chiminea that I cannot use.

I can only speak from my experience but I can say I have not received the goods I purchased, have had poor communication and service and now left out of pocket.

Update 29/06/2023. I have now received a replacement main flue which actually came with a top flue I did not need. Of note the two top flues I received have both been damaged. In my experience The Chiminea Shop has been let down by the Gardeco company and DPD delivery. I have updated the star rating to 3 and pleased that it has all been sorted.

Beautiful products & outstanding customer service

Beautiful products and outstanding customer service! The Chiminea is of excellent quality, arrived quickly and was easy to put together. However, what sets this company apart from others is their customer service. They respond to emails quickly and go above and beyond to help out. I couldn't believe my luck when they were still keen to help out 2 years on from my purchase. (Sending out a replacement part to help me out, when it was technically not their problem!) Joe is a superstar and I would recommend this company to anyone!

Steer well clear of this awful company

This audacious company knowing that My order was a gift for my daughter, saw fit to send out a broken Waffle Iron which if used would have been very dangerous . I asked for a refund and was refused one, they told me they would send out the parts to fix the one they sent out probably knowing it was faulty which is completely unacceptable. I have emailed them saying that this was not acceptable and not had the courtesy of a reply so now its time to report them to Trading Standards and put a stop to their abuse of a customer. My advice is - steer well clear of this company they are completely unprofessional, cannot be trusted and their goods are defective and not worth the money. They do not deserve your custom and they will never get mine ever again so poor business acumen on their part and I wonder how long it will be before quite rightfully they go out of business. Serves them right if they do. If I could have awarded them a zero star rating I would have, bad company, poor customer service, faulty goods and not at all good value for money. Buy your Chimenea goods from someone else as I will be doing in future. Disgusting horrid company to deal with. Bunch of juvenile amateurs.

Shocking Customer Service - DONT BUY FROM THEM!

I purchased the Altiplano - Mexican Art Chiminea in April 2020 for £140.00

I express my complete dissatisfaction of the chiminea purchased. Despite effects to protect the chiminea when not in use it has corroded badly. The exterior coating has all flaked off & the upper rim has flaked too. The chiminea was very occasionally used as only purchase April 2020 & when not in use it is covered up with a chiminea purpose built cover.

I addressed my issues & dissatisfaction in the product and even supported it with pictures showing the poor state of the chiminea – it looked like I had it for years!

After weeks of chasing up customer service I received a negative response and no offer of compensation, I was just brushed off!

Here’s there response ………

MY apologies I have been swamped with emails and have had great difficulty getting hold of Gardeco whom always seem to go awol in extremely busy times. Whilst she appreciates your feedback and disappointment, painted clay can react in a variety of ways, especially with the introduction of heat. The paint is not fired or glazed onto the item like pottery and as such is simply a veneer. Factors of weather + heat can and does cause discolouration and flaking but can be painted over. Other factors that can cause similar effects related to weather (and location in the UK) are weather items are covered in thermal's covers when not in use.

As such there are so many variables involved, its difficult to pinpoint why some items flake / discolours, and others do not. They are all made the same way in Mexico and this is actually the first complaint about this item we've had at Chiminea Shop.

I am sorry you feel disappointed with the item and have taken your feedback on board.

Do not buy items from this company!!!!!

Warranty claim

Hi after emailing a coup,e of times and unable to find a phone number I would like a response
Purchased about 18 months ago performed beautifully all last spring/summer and stored under cover
Fired ut up this year only for what appeared to be the glaze blister and burn off and once cooled there are several cracks throughout the main body

Highly recommend this company

I ordered an Azteca XL Mexican Chimenea on 11th March and it arrived today (5 days later) in perfect condition just in time for my husband’s birthday. Joe who I emailed was particularly helpful and exceeded my expectations. It was very useful to receive an email from the delivery company on the day of delivery and the delivery driver kindly carried the Chimenea into the back garden. All in all a great experience and I would highly recommend this company and this product.

Excellent service

Second to none service. After a Chimenea cracked after 3 years under a 5 year guarantee the Chimenea shop dealt with the manufacturer on my behalf and their service was second to none. I have never seen better customer service and follow up. Many thanks to Joe for superb support.

My Chiminea broke after just 3 weeks

My Chiminea broke after just 3 weeks. I followed guidelines that were supplied with the item and when complained was told it was my fault and no replacement! Shocking company. I had to remind them of my complaint several times before being told no replacement.

We see no evidence of sand in the detailed photos you have supplied which would be required as per instructions. Therefore you did not follow the guidelines and blew the chiminea from over-firing.

Clay is an incredibly reliable material, used for 1000's of years and the products invariably do not come with faults. Likewise 1000's of items are sold every year without issue. The only issues that arise are from delivery breakages, thermic shock from over firing, and/or misuse. Clay chimineas do require careful use, and seasoning with numerous small fires to bake the clay solid. Likewise throwing logs in hastily, or through the flute will also cause damage.

It looks like very clear Thermic Shock / Misuse which is a usage issue and not covered for replacement sadly.

I recently ordered an item and a day…

I recently ordered an item and a day later was told it was out of stock...Asked if i could have a similar item..It was slightly more for the inconvenience caused...As it was a special gift...Short email saying NO..You are refunded and thats that..I hope their customer service improves..I will never order from these people again.
