A Once Excellent Site that has Gone Drastically Downhill

I first joined this site in January of 2010, at the start of a long divorce in which i had custody of my son . Chinese women being impressed with men who are devoted fathers , I have had countless contacts, offers of marriage and three wonderful, intense romantic relationships, including one last summer and fall. However , by choice I remain unmarried and am still looking ...... So, What has recently gone wrong with the site that I should give such a low rating ? It has been inundated with scammers , perhaps 5 to 10% of profiles posted . Cupid makes it very, very , VERY , easy for scammers . How ? All a scammer posing as a woman need do is post one photo and leave 95 % of the profile page blank and they are on . Only one client need pay for total freedom of messaging , and ss most men pay and most women don't , that swings the door wide open . Some scammers use photos of models that can readily be found using reverse image searches, while many are so stupid their contradictions are easy to catch ( living in Boston and looking for an Australian living within 200 miles of LA ......I see this sort of thing all the time ) . ALTHOUGH THE SITE POSTS WARNINGS , ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IS DONE TO VET NEW MEMBERS !........ Pretty faces draw the men , and 90+% of men pay , while no more than 20% of women do ....... Requiring a full and consistent profile would at least deter scammers ; my suggestion, if as a man you choose to use the site, is to only contact ladies who pay , as the scammers never do !

Female members mass greetings

What I found, in helping a female friend setting up her account in China in Nov. 2024, is that female accounts, when open, has a popup window with many male photos. The window is for the female to mass send a greeting. If you do not close the window, you cannot do other things on their website. I as a man have received many females' greetings and when I reply to those paid members, I never get a reply. I got one reply saying she did not greet me in the first place. Naturally, when females mass end their greetings, they cannot remember what the did. Male member accounts do not have such pop up window. Obviously this website is trying to lure many male members to upgrade.

The land of filters

The land of filters, airbrush and unrealistic expectations. The ladies in their 40's and up, have age ranges that are not going to happen. That is just the age demand! The financial, education and physical demands are on another level. Honestly, if they were in their 20s to 38 perhaps they might have a chance. Perhaps this is why as others say, they just disappear. The filters tell you the whole story here, you don't need to look at the profile, move on.

Chinalovecupid.com is very bad

I totally agree with Liam Greyson (Sept 22, 2024) and
Edward Pi (Sept 16, 2024). This critic site could be an ally of ChinaLoveCupid.com (herebelow referred as CLC).

Apart from what they described in their experience, there are things a lot worse. That platform auto-generates messages to male members to lure their addiction and payment to be paid members. However, when male members send out requests such as adding wechat for further communication, the female members respond no more! Previously you could judge from their standard messages. Nowadays, with the advance of AI, the platform now can issue true-like messages. However, the objective is the same to fool the love-hunger male members. I don't know how it deals with female members, my ex-gf told me she would never use that site again.

I used ThaiFriendly.com in the past 5 years. I had never experienced the bad feelings like CLC.

It is fine for a business to earn money, but not by cheating and hurting your clients/members mentally!

I have de-activated my CLC account after joining for 1 day. It is because I saw all the tricks in less than 24 hours. By the way, I used CLC by various names since 2012 (it was very decent in 2012). I paid many times but no more now.

It is a horrible website

It is a horrible website. Mostly divorced chinese ladies looking for a green card a way out of their many problems. These ladies have extreme mental problems act like princesses when they are beyond their expiration date. If you speak your mind the site will help to suspend your account.

I am not yet a paid member however

I am not yet a paid member however, When a paid member contacts me because they are interested, I have never heard back from them after responding to their message. I have received many messages and responded to probably 99% but never a response.
I have been contacted 2-3 times by several members but no response. It seems I am not being permitted to receive a response from their paid members.

Me parece una web, seria y completo.Estoy feliz con los resultados..en conocer alas personas,, pero de momento no he tenido suerte 🍀. Gracias.

Hello, I appreciate the survey. Sincerely, I am happy with the website. I will not say who, they asked me for money... but everywhere there are people with bad faith. This Website, I am more comfortable, and how, more serious. I encourage you to continue with your line. Thank you. A great one. Tony

I've had much real romantic success…

I've had much real romantic success using this site over the course of many years , but one glaring problem has grown much worse over time : the presence of scammers . Cupid is largely to blame for this ! Why ? Scammers ( largely African , which Cupid admits ) almost invariably post only one photo , invariably of a strikingly beautiful white or East Asian girl , and provide little or no other information . If Cupid required 75 % completion of profiles and 100 word descriptions of prospective members as well as 100 word statements of the kind or partner they are looking for , scamming would be made much more difficult !....... Another issue is " Beautified " photos , which should be discouraged . At least 1/2 of the girls bear little resemblance to the photos you see , and fully 3/4 post some fake photos . It is very embarrassing when you see such girls on video ( I just had such an experience with a lady who did not resemble her photos at all !! ) ! The beautification software on smartphones is so sophisticated now that it is often difficult to tell , so until a lady e-mails photos to you or you see her on video , do not get too anxious to meet her !

Good site for subscribers

This dating site started to work for me after paying a subscription enabling translated messages. Subscriptions are often discounted and are good value for money compared sites where you need to buy credits frequently.
If you are sceptical the best approach is to join for free - you can’t read messages but you can view profiles of those sending messages by clicking on the message then the sender.
Just concentrate on putting up your own profile at first, leave to see how many messages you receive and who these are from, then make a decision about whether to join.

You should be aware that most Western social media is banned in China. Skype can be used and if you enable your phone number as a way to connect in addition to your original Skype ID this is helpful. WeChat requires a qualified user to “help friend register “ so this is unlikely to be of much use.
Also be aware that messages and photos go through on Skype - don’t forget to request or accept translated messages with each person you wish to chat with. Video calls can be more difficult but are possible - perhaps depending on local internet capacity in China or just general bandwidth that maybe contracts for free calls worldwide when Microsoft’s AI detects revenue !
