I would strongly recommend you think carefully about doing business with this firm

I would be extremely wary when dealing with this company. A seller should not be judged by how smoothly everything goes, but how it reacts when there are problems. And I had problems with a tablet, returned it to an adress Chinistore asked me to send it to, but haven't almost two months later seen a penny of my refund. Chinistore boasts 'satisfaction guaranteed or your money back' but that simply isn't true.

In detail, I bought a tablet in December and it was shipped quickly, but when I unpacked it and started it up, it was obvious there was a real problem with the wifi. I emailed Chinistore and they advised me to install new firmware and sent me a link to do so. The trouble was that the site was completely in Chinese, I didn't understand a word and every link I tried either brought up a soft porn site or a gaming site.

I told Chinistore and they sent me a screenshot of the site with an arrow pointing to the link I should try. I did try it, but again all I got was sort porn or gaming site. So I applied for a refund through Paypal which I had used to pay for it. In reply I got an email - directly, not through the Paypal system - saying they were disappointed I had applied throughy Paypal as they liked to sort problems out themselves but under the circumstances would I return the tablet? And they sent me and address in Shenzen to send it to. This I did and it was delivered on January 12. I then received an email from Paypal saying that I could get a refund once I had returned the tablet. But the address they sent me - presumably the address with which Chinistore is registered at Paypal was a different address, one in Hong Kong. I replied saying that I had already returned the tablet but to a different address.

Now Paypal is refusing to refund me as I didn't return it to the address it specified and as for Chinistore, no refund, no emails, no explanation, nothing at all. The upshot is that I don't have a tablet, I am £157.71 out of pocket because I didn't get my money back from Chinistore for the tablet and delivery, I am also £27 out of pocket because that's what it cost to send it back, and I also had to pay £10 import duty. That's almost £200 it has cost me, with nothing to show for it, for doing business with Chinistore.

I would say when it works, fine, they are no worse and not better than anyone else. But in my case I have been taken to the cleaners. They haven't even told me why they are not paying. But then why should they? I am on the other side of the world in the UK and they know they can get away with it so they ARE getting away with it. In that respect they are behaving like crooks, so my advice to anyone considering doing business with them is to tread very carefully indeed. As the phrase is 'buyer beware'.

DO NOT BUY FROM

DO NOT BUY FROM CHINISTORE!

Before purchasing i asked chinistore to ensure an Australian charger was packaged with. This did not come in the box.

The screen was faulty.

I sent the item back at my expense and they told me that they never received the item. This is more than 6 months from the date i bought the item.

I've learnt my lesson at $250.

I hope you can learn from me too.
