I also noticed in-person services also became horrible over years. The company seems to run its outlets with only a few staffs. Sometime even a small number of service-seekers have to waste long wait-times. Staffs are often new recruits, half-trained, slow and incapable of solving problems. I have been with this bank for the last 24 years. By now, I am seriously considering to move to another bank reputed for good customer care.

When a bank branch sends you to apply for a business credit card online, and after three hours of waiting on the phone, the operator tells you that it is impossible to do it over the phone, your love for the bank grows exponentially. I don't trust this bank, go to a competitor, to anyone but this bank!!!

Demanded ID when I was verified twice with my own regular banking card and credit card in Upper James Hamilton branch
If you are a senior you cannot now even pay bills in the branch...you have to do it online where the print is small and procedures complicated for most seniors especially the disabled...this is not even a bank just another post covid rip off...this happened mid morning at this branch Saturday November 1st 2025.

This bank is the most frustrating bank ever. You would literally spend hours on the call for just something that would only take you what 5 mins? This is not fair, we have things to do and we are not calling for fun. If you can’t help your customers why still have the bank. Literally spent an hour on the call for nothing. Such a complete waste of time

The worst. Your CIBC c/c is the worst. Anybody reading this. DO NOT take a CIBC c/c. You'll pay your monthly bill on time & your next bill will have a large interest fee for late payment. Which means you have to spend hours on their 800 line trying to speak to someone. Month after Month. & try to cancel the c/c. Impossible. There is no dept in their 800 maze to cancel the card. If you actually get to talk to a person. "Oh thats not me dept let me transfer you. Wait time is only 3 DAYS. Worst experience I've ever had with a bank & I'm 74 years old. More than 60 years of banking. Stay away from this banking mess.
Superb Cutomer Service!
I wanted to make my account joint and have a bank draft made out ASAP. We dealt with Dennis and he was top notch customer service!! Dennis patiently assisted us with our requests and although it was near closing on a Saturday, he never rushed us and assured us he is here until we complete our transaction with a neighbouring bank. Being from Brampton, we miss the fantastic and expected customer service we received with Dennis! Wiithout his knowledge, he made a situation that was a headache and stressful, smooth and a relief! He definitely made it worth the drive to Collingwood! Thank you Dennis!

I requested a secondary user for my card
I requested a secondary user for my credit card, this was considerably urgent.
After almost days of not receiving a card I called them and they sent it about days ago, with Canada Post.
Canada Post was on strike, and still is on partial strike today.
I will never understand why would they mail something with them if the world knows they are on strike.
This is awful.
Now I am getting to cancel that card and send one to the branch.
Why wouldn't they use Fedex or UPS or else?
Or for courtesy call me to offer me to pick it up at a branch....they just made the executive decision to mail it with the garbage service on strike!!!!
This situation has caused me a great deal of stress and inconvenience. I expect honesty, professionalism, and timely communication from my bank, but unfortunately, that has not been my experience.

Worst customer service ever’ specially a nightmare to have credit card with them. The card was compromised online , filed complaint in april & it is october no compensation received. Called credit card department 4 days non stop & funny thing?? No answer. Finally emailed the complaint center & to my surprise they told me their employee never forwarded my case & now they want proof from my side & my statment of accounts lol & & to get statment of accounts is another challenge , online app sucks & customer service doesnt answer. So ya fu*them !
