Flawless and quick delivery, top-notch car, speedy car return. Very professional.

The first car had a very very strong smell of an awful cleaning perfume. Causing head aches and travel sickness.
The office changed the car rapidly and the new car smelled less. Still the sprays used are horrible.

once i rented a car here and i recall that moment with joiy and sastisfaction...
at the beginning i was a bit skeptical becoz of my wife as she is always doubtful, but anyway, we rented and the car was clean and almost new....
what I also remember is the convo i had with customer support, they explained everything well...
so, will rent here in the future too, earned my high rating

This is the second time we’ve rented a car with Cicar, this time in Lanzarote. Everything was easy and smooth: the price included a second driver and full coverage, with no deposit or credit card guarantee required. This gives you great peace of mind while on holiday. The car was brand new and spotless! Returning the car early in the morning outside office hours was simple, you just leave it in the parking lot and drop the keys in the box. Traveling to and from Fuerteventura by ferry was no problem (we also got a discounted rate as we had a car rented with Cicar). Overall, an excellent experience!

I always book my cars with CICAR. All insurance is included with no excess. They have offices in every tourist area, as well as at airports and ports across the Canary Islands.
The only downside: at Las Palmas Airport, the vehicles are often not completely clean (inside and outside). I understand this, given CICAR’s popularity, but I have sometimes found bottles, chewing gum, etc. It’s clear the cleaning is done very quickly. In addition, I’ve occasionally received cars with warning lights on (service required, oil change, underinflated tires). Once, there was no water in the windshield washer. Even when mentioning these issues to the staff, the answer was simply: “It’s not a big deal.” Driving with underinflated tires, though, really is a concern.

Great prices, no hidden taxes or deposits.

If you come from Europe and check their rental prices, you might think that this is some sort of a scam :) That was my first reaction when I wanted to rent a car and checked their website. Then I saw that the rentals in the Canary Islands are really affordable, and the Canary Islands have a great reputation. The range of cars is decent, but I suggest going with a small car if you want to explore the countryside. Also they have a parking at the airport which makes everything even more comfortable for eveyone

Easy collection, Offered an automatic at the same price which was a massive massive advantage to my wife. The website does state its a "Peugeot rifter or SIMILAR" to those who state they didnt get what they paid for. We did get a big car which easily fit 5 plus luggage so happy days! Good quailty car. Friendly staff with quick and easy drop off.
Gran canaria drop off is underground

Although the vehicle I received was fine, I'm always disappointed when I don't receive the vehicle I had booked (Opel Mokka automatic). The Seat sometimes lacked a little power in the mountains.

We recently used Cicar at Tenerife South Airport and unfortunately had a very poor experience from start to finish.

We arrived without a booking, expecting to pay a fair rate at the counter. Instead, we were quoted €260 for 6 days, more than double the online price for the same vehicle, which was listed at €125. When we pointed this out and said we could book online immediately, the staff — particularly a younger female attendant — responded rudely and told us we could do that if we wanted, but we’d “have to wait an hour.” This felt like a clear attempt to pressure us into overpaying at the desk.

We went ahead and booked online anyway, returned 30 minutes later, and were handed the exact same car. No apology. No explanation for the pricing discrepancy. The whole interaction felt like a tourist-focused upsell scam: either you pay double at the desk, or you’re punished with a wait.

The car itself was heavily used — dents and scratches all around, both inside and out, and noticeably high mileage. It worked fine for the duration, but it was far from the condition you’d expect when booking through a supposedly reputable rental company.

Cicar has a good reputation in the Canary Islands, but this experience was frustrating and felt dishonest. If you do plan to use them, book online in advance and don’t expect much flexibility or politeness at the desk. Definitely not the kind of service that builds trust with returning customers.

Everything was arranged smoothly with picking up the car and returning it. It was also a good functioning car.

Rented many times with Cicar and they are by far my favourite option in the Canaries. No hidden costs and never had any issues. Free cancellation and no need to pay in advance. Both pick-up and drop-off super quick and easy. Have also been upgraded for free on a couple of occasions. Our most recent rental car was brand new and a joy to drive. Prices are very reasonable.

The service was super fast, we got our car in less than 10 minutes of waiting. The vehicle was brand new, less than 6,000km and the ride was smooth. I'll definitely recommend

I have booked with Cicar for many years. I am always impressed with the quality of service of the personnel and the cars. This combined with great value makes Cicar my top choice for rental cars every time. I just wish they would expand globally!

All inclusive insurance, so worry free. Full tank of petrol. Used this year at Gran Canaria airport. Underground car park for pick up was busy, but only 5 min wait for pick up. Staff were fine. Drop off was fine. Fuel station at airport was a good price. Took 2nd drive round to find entrance to underground car park. Used last year in Tenerife and excellent then. Very good here, so will use again.

Its my third time using them in the Canaries.

the Airport staff is always amazing, the cars are relatively new (sometimes things don't work perfect) but they do the job

this time I had to return the var earlier, didn't as for a refund as I didn't consider I was owed one but received one a week later. A pleasant surprise
