Worst insurance company ever

Worst insurance company ever. Always founding something which is excluded and they won't pay.
I was left in the middle of my treatment with a life-treating condition due to their T&C.
Worst customer service ever - you spend hours on the phone and their call back service is so slow that it is usless.
Avoid if you can! Nightmare.

They simply don't answer the phone

They simply don't answer the phone. I have been trying now all week, have managed to speak to them once after escalating via my HR dept to the account manager who managed a call back two day later. The lady I spoke to would not accept a letter from a hospital (I had visit to A & E), only a GP ("terms and conditions") and required me to start all over again via a GP. It is thoroughly unprofessional, dangerous to your health and quite frankly a con.

Absolutely apalling service

Absolutely apalling service spent 2 weeks trying to speak to them hours upon hours being on hold with no body ever picking up at the other end. the call back system is a joke as they don't call you back. When i eventually got to pseak to someone from a different department they took my details and said they would mark them as urgent and someone would ring me, that was 3 days ago, still no phone call. sent emails that have just been ignored. I'm only with them as I get the package through my employer. Look elsewhere if you want cover avoid Cigna like the plague.

Nightmare phone lines

Bloody awful to get through to and to get an answer to my query on the phone. Been on hold on and off for days and every time I get an answer they put me through to “someone who can help” to then spend an hour being told that I need to be reassured that my call is important to Cigna....Dont think so, or you’d answer my call!

I have got a health insurance cover…

I have got a health insurance cover with Cigna UK through my employer since 2019. I have recently made a claim for knee injury and was satisfied with the process. I booked a consultant of my choice at the BMI London Independent Hospital and all costs were covered. I am totally satisfied.

Awful customer services

Awful customer services. No one ever picks up and the automated message needs updating as it continues to advise people to hold. I have been trying to get through calling consistently over the past couple of days to no avail.

Do not use Cigna .. you will be shocked 😳

Don’t know where to start apart from advising people to not use Cigna or if you are with Cigna to move as quick as possible before anything happens to you or your family. They will find a clause in their T&C’s!!! To think that I have paid extra premiums for years and was due to have an operation in March 2020 when COVID hit. My operation was obviously delayed till July . I knew I had a 6month recovery period and would require physio. I actually stopped working for my employer at the end of October which was in the middle of my treatment. Called Cigna as I needed face to face physio and not zoom physio and was told my policy had expired. I requested that they review this as I wasn’t able to have my operation or give me a refund of the months I had paid my premiums and was unable to get treatment. They refused . The FCA have advised insurance companies on how to care for clients during the pandemic and Cigna have ignored. They took my money and provided no service in return . I have now reported them to the FSO and the FCA and also taking legal action. Their terms are illegal and their actions are immoral. Not nice people regardless of #bekind and caring for the vulnerable during COVID . They take your money and made more during Covid as no pay outs !!

Worst providers ever

Worst providers ever, read the small print every time, went for level 3 cover which includes Full cover meaning no shortfall to be paid. Then phoned them to tell them needed emergency treatment for a cracked tooth, they said visit any dentist. When it came to providing cover, they said £168 shortfall to be paid as I didnt use a Full cover dentist. What a con. Do not go with these con artists.
After going through their complaints process I managed to get the shortfall refunded.

Great from the get-go

Great from the get-go.

This was my first experience with Cigna and I could not be more impressed. The nurses were always patient with my questions and really listened.

Being able to see someone at my local Nuffield was a real plus.

Really impressed by Cigna

Really impressed by Cigna, the process was so smooth and I can’t believe how quickly I was able to speak to a consultant and arrange my treatment.

I had to make a call to their contact centre and the agent could not have been more helpful.

Always a positive experience when claiming

I have used my Cigna UK healthcare plan many times over the years, and my experience has always been positive.

Accessing physiotherapy for minor ailments has always been excellent, usually an appointment within a day or two. The staff at the end of the phone are knowledgeable about my treatment too.

So far so good

I have used Cigna for a few minor health issues and never had any issues with them, they always authorised the care. The nurses I spoke to on the phone were always friendly and helpful, they even offered to book appointments for me. If they were coving maternity services too, I'd have given them 5 stars.

Absolutely furious with Cigna

Absolutely furious with Cigna
Absolutely furious with Cigna! After having a Hospital Cash Plan in place for a good number of years they have left me high and dry! It just so happens that I am due to have an operation, which I was expecting to have just before my policy year ended. However, my operation has been delayed and I now have no protection whatsoever!

Originally my policy was with First Assist, which, I think, was Royal & Sun Alliance previously, although may have got this wrong. They were either bought out, changed their name or business transferred to First Assist before they in turn merged with Cigna. As a consequence, unlike some companies that will sell policies to another company so you are still covered, I am now left with no cover whatsoever, and as this will now be a pre-existing condition, no hope of getting cover either!

As I am now 63 and my husband 66, we obviously both have pre-existing conditions. Therefore, we are very, very unlikely to get any cover whatsoever, and whatever cover we do manage to get will not have the same benefits, neither will we be able to get it at the same, affordable premium!

For anyone reading this review, just be aware that not all insurance provisions are actually worth buying!
