I have just had my watch 10 year old…

I have just had my 10 year old watch returned from Citizen Service Centre and am delighted it is working again. I was recommended to send it by my jeweller after fitting a new capacitor had failed. I contacted them via email and they were very attentive. I sent it off 24/9/2023. I knew they had received it because of the tracking. I received an estimate of £75.00 a couple of days later, which I thought was very reasonable so paid.
I did get a little concerned when I hadn’t heard anything after a couple of weeks and there was no update on my account. However, I emailed them and was told to expect it to take approximately 20 days.
It is here, working, looking great.
I’m very pleased and would definitely use them again in the future if needed.

Poor servicing

I sent my vintage titanium divers watch into Citizen watch UK for a service. The cost was reasonable at £75.
After weeks of chasing them for updates, they finally admitted that they had caused significant damage to the watch caseback in trying to open it. Quite astonishing that this could happen. My watch was over 10 years old and a favourite watch of mine, now it’s scarred forever.
They did offer me a replacement watch in compensation, which I accepted, but wanted to warn other watch owners to think twice before using the Citizen UK service centre.

One fatal flaw...

The watch that I bought seems superficially to be well made and nicely designed.

But a fatal flaw - the bracelet is huge, and there is NO WAY for the owner to adjust it, and NO INSTRUCTIONS for doing so with the watch or on their website.

Not only this, but the company actually states on their website that it is a deliberate decision not to make this information available.

You are supposed to take the thing to a jeweler or dealer just to get the strap adjusted! Oh, and another thing is that they charge you for doing something like this...

This seems to me to be an utterly ludicrous waste of time and money so I sent it back for a refund (which they've not done yet, by the way).

Very bad experience

I am having a very bad experience with this company. The watch strap has come off my watch. I sent it to them for repair under the 5 year guarantee that they gave but they are refusing to repair it under the guarantee. I have written to them to complain about this however i have had no response and they still haven't returned my watch. These are not the actions of a high end watch manufacturer. I cannot recommend this company or their products or services

Can Citizen service a watch correctly?

After years of faithful service my Citizen Red Arrows went back to Citizen for a service. Sadly on its return this watch has no longer faithful, if anything it had turned into an annoying monster whose spindle would come lose so stopping the watch and occasionally actually changing the city the time is linked to. The jewellers very kindly sent the watch back to Citizen but all they do is come back and say there's nothing wrong, when clearly there is. My advice, dont send a watch back to Citizen for a service, you'll save hundreds of pounds and not end up with a product fit only for a bin.

Bought a Citizen watch in Jan 2015 for £120, thought it would last for years. The guarantee was for 5 years. A few months after the guarantee expired the watch started to malfunction. Are they programmed to fail just after the guarantee expires?!! Won't buy another!!

Mistakenly contacted Citizen in USA re extra links for expensive watch and never expected to hear from them. Lo and behold Citizen Uk took up the query and sent me required links for watch. Thought this was brilliant and good service. Don’t understand reviews. All Citizen watches I have purchased have been accurate and have lasted till now. One of my favourite brands and I collect watches including Omega Tudor and other high end makes. Couldn’t be happier with Citizen

Some of the numbers have fallen off the dial of the watch. As it was under 5 years old, I contacted Citizen to ask about a repair under their guarantee. Even though I registered the guarantee at the time of the purchase, they wouldn't consider anything unless I could produce the original receipt which I couldn't find and probably would have faded after 4 years anyway. I expect they would have found an excuse to say it wasn't covered by the guarantee anyway even if I had found the receipt given the tone of their emails!

I BOUGHT A CITIZEN WATCH MODEL NUMBER:E650-S10387857L

I BOUGHT A CITIZEN WATCH MODEL NUMBER: E650-S10387857L
THE WATCH HAS BEEN LOOSING ITS TIME TRACK AND DAY OF THE WEEK.I SENT THIS WATCH TO THE MANAGER SOPHIE
CITIZEN UK
Service Centre
PO Box 161
Wokingham
Berkshire
RG41 2FS

THREE TIMES.THEY RESET THE WATCH EVERY TIME AND RETURN IT TO ME. NOW THE WATCH HAS DEVELOPED THE SAME FAULT AGAIN. I WAS JUST TALKING TO THE MANAGER SOPHIE TODAY(ON 05/03/2019) SHE ADVISED ME TO RESET THE WATCH. SHE EXPECTS ME TO KEEP ON RESETTING THE FAULTY WATCH. BUT SHE DOES NOT WANT TO REPLACE THE FAULTY WATCH. AND BY THE WAY, SHE CUT ME OFF THE PHONE CALL. IT IS A DISGRACE THAT THE MANAGER SOPHIE IS CAPABLE OF DOING SUCH OUTRAGEOUS ACT. I AM THEREFORE WARNING EVERY ONE, THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE BUYING A CITIZEN WATCH. SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU MIGHT END UP IN A BAD SITUATION LIKE ME.I HAVE ALSO WARNED HER THAT I AM CONSIDERING LEGAL ACTION AGAINST CITIZEN UK AND I WILL HOLD THEM RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL LEGAL COSTS AND ALL OTHER COSTS ARISING OUT OF SUCH ACTION.
