Good trip out to see the Statue of Liberty.Food and drinks available plus toilet facilities on the ferry.When your on Liberty island you can take as long as you want as there are ferries going back to the main land on regular intervals. The views from the island out to Manhatton are really good plus you are close up to the Statue aswell.
Highly reccomended.

What a waste of time to visit this wreck of a prison. The government doesn't do anything to show you what it must have been like to be a prisoner, except to show you the cells and minimal artifacts. The free guided tour was somewhat interesting. Lots of areas were closed to the public. The government should hire an outside contractor to make it more entertaining.

Alcatraz is well worth taking the time to visit.
The experience was well managed from the time we got to the departure area, through to the ferry to the island, the self guided tour on the island itself and the return trip on the ferry.
Alcatraz is some place, well worth visiting.
