I was promised things that were never…

I was promised things that were never delivered. I was charged astronomically, and no actions taken. I am currently contacting SLCC and raising a small claims court if anyone is interested in getting their money returned. They took advantage of me when I was in a dire and vulnerable situation. I am disabled. What really angers me, is that there are no bad reviews on their Facebook or website. Only adoring comments of admiration.

Toxic and unprofessional

I engaged this firm to deliver an eviction and recover over seven thousand pounds in unpaid rent, however, they are passive in their approach and not remotely proactive in their advice or their strategies to resolve problems.
At no point were they able to confront or contact the tenant at the heart of the problem, if they had the whole situation would almost certainly have been resolved in four to six weeks, but it seems that if it was difficult to do they didn’t do it. And it obviously suited them to draw the whole legal process out for as long as possible.
There is no sense of client service or empathy, rather the feeling that clients are treated as cash cows to be milked until dry. They give every impression of having financial problems; for example, they have recently switched to charging client twice monthly. They gave all sorts of fatuous reasons for this claiming it favoured the client. It doesn’t. It helps their bottom line.
When given all the powers by the Courts necessary to recover the rental arrears, they completely failed to deliver.
Later, having decided to sell the property, I asked them to conveyance the sale. Following the property sale, when the company held my funds from the sale, I received a threatening email from a director of the company threatening me with court action for my bill! Toxic and unprofessional behaviour. Then, after a forensic audit of all their invoices against what I had paid them, I found that I had been overcharged by in excess of £600. When challenged about this, they refused to engage.
Also, once the property was sold, they held on to my funds for five days (is that even legal?) without apology or payment of interest on the amount.
I even caught one member of staff in a lie, which was pretty stupid since all interaction was in writing via email so the lie could be easily proved. So, two attributes you don’t want in a legal representative – stupidity and dishonesty.
Conclusion: avoid Clarity Simplicity at all costs (and I DO mean costs) if you value your bank account and your sanity.
