Do absolutely not recommend
- Teachers often seem to be not very committed (trial classes teachers did not show up, no response)
- once you booked more than one hour with a student and the teacher closes her available slots you might not be able to take the classes. For 10 classes bought you have 12 weeks to use these. Money lost! This happened in our case.
- by mistake we pressed the end class button and there is no way to reconnect- we lost the class (as well)
- system is not very friendly for students, lots of hurdles don’t work.
—>> some teachers / classes are inexpensive but it is just not worth it. Spent hours organising and reorganising classes that don’t happen.

Be very careful with Classgap
Please, be very careful if you book more than one session with this platform (e.g. 10 sessions with a specific teacher). If for whatever reason such teacher is not available or doesn't answer your request, Classgap will not refund your money after 14 days of the payment. It does not matter if it's not your fault, they won't return you your money. They'll tell you that they keep your money and your only option is to search for another teacher and even then they give you a time limit to find them and have the classes with the new teacher.

The platform is easy to use
The platform is easy to use, the teacher fantastic and when there was an admin issue, they were very efficient and friendly to resolve
recomended for student not for teachers
Definitely recommended for students, but as a teacher, I am very unhappy. The fees are really high (32-27%) and the teacher is never protected: students can change the lesson time at the last minute (how can I organize myself this way?) and they can not-show up without notifying. They don't lose money or time, but I lose both. It would be fair to put some restrictions on the scheduling! It's a shame because the other features work very well: students write in chat without needing private contact and the virtual classroom works very well (it lacks a command to disable touch when using the pen). I will continue to use the service because I believe it is among the best online, but I would like to see some improvements for teachers.

Unqualified teachers and no reimbursement
I first booked lessons with a data analyst teacher who said she knew Python. After a few lessons, she couldn't answer most of my questions (beginner level) and it was obvious that she'd never used this programming language. When I wanted to delete my account, I had some money left on my cash balance, and Classgap told me that they don't credit the money back, which I thought was theft.
Avoid wasting your time with them, there are many online course platforms much more rigorous and honest than Classgap.

Best client service department
The client service department impressed me a lot!
When I wrote to them and asking for help, they replied very fast and did solved the problems for me every time.
For example some of my classes are expired which I didn't realised, Erick did helped to extend the classes for me, and I'm very grateful.
Could be better .
The website keeps on logging me out. It doesn't accept my password and it also doesn't let me change it. It's already happened twice.
Also, I may be the only one, but it still takes place in my lessons on classgap : somehow, classgap laggs a lot. And probably it's not my problem, because I have lessons on zoom and Skype and I never experience the same kind of problem this much.
Probably a good fit for some academical subjects, but definitely not for piano, vocals etc. but it's just my humble opinion.
The good thing is that you can easily check tutor's availability and there're plenty of tutors which you can try to work with.

I registered as a teacher
I registered as a teacher. Within 3 months, the fee went up from 20% to 35% + 31% transfer fee. So if you pay £20, the teacher only gets £12. Outrageous. and no influx of students whatsoever. A total scam for teachers. Don't bother registering.
On top of that, I receive scam messages all the time.
when I registered, the commission was 20%, now it's 35%. the commission will get smaller after a teacher completes 100 hours. with no influx of students, that's impossible. so they suggest to spend more money on advertising. I'm sorry, I'm already spending 66% on my earning just to be on your platform. what a scam!
it was explained that the commission had gone up because of the platform integration. Just use zoom and integrate it to your website. no need to reinvente a bicycle.
also, if you want any support, you either write an email and wait for 3-5 days for a reply or you can pay £160 for 15 min for a call. which tells me that the company is not interested in helping you

Definitely AVOID working with this…
Definitely AVOID working with this platform if you are a teacher. I was a professor with Classgap for a short time, and the experience was overwhelmingly negative.
Late last year, I invested a lot of time and effort in creating a profile tailored to the platform’s requirements, finding students, teaching them, and initially found the experience to be positive overall. However, in January of this year, I noticed the amount of money that had accumulated in my account was less than what Classgap owed me for the classes taught so far.
Of course I emailed them, asking if there had been some kind of mistake — they replied that they’d raised their commission from 20% to 32% of each class taught in order to “improve the platform and the services we offer.” I told them that this was unacceptable, as they had failed to communicate this change in policy before implementing it.
The customer service rep, Paola, replied that “everyone was notified via email.” That is untrue — I was not. Classgap sends out a number of emails, and I read them all. No email or newsletter that I received mentioned a change in rates.
I offered to accept their higher commission from that week forward, as it was the first time I was hearing of it, if they would agree to pay the 12% difference in commission for the several weeks classes I’d already taught in January. Paola said they wouldn’t: that her supervisor had informed her that my choice was to accept the situation as-is or stop teaching through the platform.
I requested to be put in touch with her supervisor, or with whomever it is that oversees these kinds of decisions, and was informed that they “don’t make exceptions in cases like these" and the only option was to "accept the situation," or stop teaching through their platform and “we’ll unfortunately have to find someone else to teach your students.”
“Polite” bullying of this kind has no place in education, and I chose to stop teaching through the platform.
Their behavior was unprofessional as well as unethical. I would have been fine with a change in their conditions, if they had simply communicated that change properly, rather than charging 12% more per class with no warning.
When one signs up with Classgap, they are very clear about the conditions; it makes no sense that they wouldn’t be just as clear when changing them. They seem to feel zero responsibility towards the people who generate the income that sustains their platform (in this case, myself), and do not seem to value the relationship between teacher and student.
In addition, there has been no change nor improvement to the platform’s functionality since they raised their rates.

It’s a scam
It’s a scam. They steal money from users. It’s extremely hard to get refunded.
I made a payment for 5 vocal lessons last week but I’m not satisfied after the first lesson. My throat gets strained and I have trouble with talking after a few days of break. They promised to refund me over 3 times but I haven’t yet get the refund after over 6 months waiting. I have seen similar reviews on other review websites. It’s definitely a scam website.

It is really interesting
Es una experiencia muy positiva ya que practico mi speaking de forma directa con mi profesora, desde mi casa y con un método que es muy resolutivo.
Writing this as a teacher for Classgap.
Classgap have recently changed their commission policies, ranging from 32% (starting out) to LEGEND at 16% after teaching over 500 hours in the last two years (that's quite a lot to arrive at). It means that you're easily working, as a teacher, at below minimum wage in a western country when you factor in class planning.
The company has also recently revoked a way of giving paying (highlighted) teachers less commission. Without warning...thus teaching paying for this option suddenly are without it. When I wrote to the site, I received the same response (a robotic response?) numerous times.
Other than this...the website works quite well. Classes are well equipped with Google docs, etc. The trial classes are quite ridiculous as teachers don't get paid at all for a twenty minute class and many students seem to just want a free class. Even for the paid first class (by the student), depending on your advertising option for the classes, you will be giving it for free or at half price.
Finally, if a student buys a packet of classes and then disappears, the website keeps everything. This, frankly, is theft of the teacher as the packets become cheaper the more the student buys, thus you've already been working for less if a student buys a packet of twenty and then stops appearing halfway through.
Mixed, really, but lately it's become ridiculous to be a teacher on this platform and make a real living. Imagine, you're paying for your classes and have no idea that the teacher could potentially only be receiving 70% of what you're paying?
UPDATE:
Nothing on the site has been improved other than a reworking of their whiteboard system. Nothing else is necessary to teach a class and justify a potential 20% increase in commission.

Nice platform for learning
I like Classgap a lot. It was easy to find a teacher and you get three short trial classes so you can try several teachers beffore choosing one, which is very helpful. The platform is easy to navigate and provides a good interface for the lessons.

Booked a free trial Turkish lesson with Seda, on the lesson day and time she said there were ‘ technical difficulties ‘ and could we reschedule. I thought fine these things happen.. next thing I get a new day/time but at a cost of £27 again I thought fine I’d have to start paying at some point. However at the designated day/time of the lesson Seda failed to take the lessson, no explanation. I’d tried to contact her to see if there was a problem but radio silent. I’ve lodged a complaint with Classgap haven’t heard anything from them. Overall extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. Would advise to stear clear from Seda and this company
