UPDATE: sorted now
I tried to place an order with M&S for £47.50 using clearpay and the order failed. I tried again adding home delivery £51.49 in total and this failed too. When I went on my bank account 2 separate payments had been taken by clearpay for both the orders which had not been processed. I don't know where to turn. M&S have not got any orders from me for these amounts but clearpay have paid them. Can anyone help?

I ordered and have paid for a birthday…
I ordered and have paid for a birthday gift through this company, the gift was ordered through Fruugo, but ClearPay have got my money.
The gift is now well over due and on communications with ClearPay over the last few days 🙄 (waste of time), and them asking me the same questions over and over again (answered twice and now given up), they say the dispute is now closed.
They sent me a phone number to communicate with Fruggo, well guess what that number is unknown.
WILL NEVER DEAL with either company again, there a total WASTE OF SPACE

This is a scam
Clearpay site gave me the “payment failed” message after 3 attempts of ordering flowers. No money was deducted from my account. In the end I paid the merchant the full amount directly using my debit card. Later I realised that Clearpay have added the failed attempts on my account with them as confirmed orders. Contacted their customer services and they’re saying i should cancel the order with the merchant. The merchant has delivered all the 3 orders of flowers. This is a scam!
I can’t afford to pay for 3 exact bouquets of flowers all delivered to the same person. I’m not working and this is torture

Thieves
After many years of using Clearpay, never missing a payment, and having my credit limit set at several thousand pounds, I attempted to make a purchase on Amazon. Amazon said the payment was declined, yet clearpay took the first payment from my account and set up the remaining repayments as a purchase. I though this would be easy to resolve. WRONG. Ihave reached out to Clearpay many times using their messaging service and email but they just DO NOT RESPOND OR REPLY. The retailer Amazon have been fantastic, always available to speak to and willing to help rectify the error, but there is only a finite amount they can do without the input of Clearpay who just refuse to answer any queries whether by message or a telephone call i requested. As such I'm left with £300 of repayments to Clearpay, for items that where never paid for by Clearpay to the retailer. I will make all the payments as per contract but I will be taking legal action against Clearpay. AVOID AVOID AVOID
UPDATE - 7 days after issue raised. Still not resolved. 5 days of messaging clearpay and being ignored even though i have sent them proof from Amazon of the decline.

Good company
Never had any problems with clearpay its always handy to have and ordering is simple. I ever raised a dispute with a merchant via clearpay which was quickly resolved. Very happy thank you clearpay
Scam beware of other bank users in your household!!
All was going well with payments until they somehow got hold of my husbands bank details and was charging us both at the same time in my name !! Disgusting and a scam also they have now frozen my account when everything is now paid off and I cannot deactivate it hmmm... whys that so you can still take money off us both! Fuming

Worst company ever ..
Worst company ever ... I had an open account and used it and paid everything I purchased on time. All of a sudden my account needed verification. I provided this 7 times !!!! .. it was dealt with my 5/6 different advisors who clearly take no ownership of any complaints. All they do is pass it around a queue in the hope someone in their indian call centre picks it up. I'm a senior Customer service manager and I know when something is cleary wrong ... Poor managers poor direction probably someone sitting working from home in the UK watching day time TV and responsibilities include india. Classic cost cutting. Absolutely disgusting... I'm done

Shockingly bad company
I opened up an account and was given a £450 credit limit. I made one purchase, and paid it back early. I logged in to make another purchase, and to my surprise they reduced my credit limit to £50!! I paid everything back early, and my circumstances were the same as before. Absolute scummy company, the customer service is a joke. Do not waste your time with this service it’s unreliable, and they can just drop your credit limit for no reason, or any reason.

After reading through other people's reviews and adding my own clearpay gets back to me saying what they say to everyone else please message us on the app..blur blur blur..too late your app has now been deleted and it would not make any difference as you get to message a different person everytime and they all have a different answer. do they not read back on previous notes instead of just repeating what others have said to me already.

I have never missed a payment, I have just paid everything early to be able to use the service to purchase something and now my account won't work!!!! I'm furious, you tell me I've got a credit limit of £1500 but now I can't even buy something for £10! Zero customer service as well! UPDATE. I've just had a chat response basically telling me tough s**t! I am appalled, this company is unregulated so I have very little recourse to make my advice is avoid at all costs! Don't use they will shaft you! Bear in mind I've used this service without fail for 2 years!!!!
They've replied below, so I reached out again and guess what no reply! I can't even spend £10! So angry

Their customer service advisors have absolutely NO comprehension skills. I was overcharged on an order and despite THEM asking for a screenshot from the seller confirming the correct amount; which I duly sent, they continue to send me automated responses telling me to wait 5-7 business days when it has been 10! I’m sick and tired of them repeating the same nonsense! I’ve already closed my Laybuy account for this very same reason and Clearpay will be the next to go. I don’t have time to be going back and forth with imbeciles.

Clearpay is the worst company I have ever known on the 19/01/2024 i tried to order a item on amazon using clearpay app I then received a email from amazon 10 minutes later informing me that the payment had been declined and the order has been cancelled but clearpay have charged me £119.75 1st payment for a order that was declined the customer services is abysmal and no help at all I thought I was getting somewhere yesterday when they finally opened a dispute only to close it again 10 minutes later telling me that most merchants refunds can take 5-7 days to reflect on your Clearpay order how can the merchant refund a order that does not exist your clearpay card was declined and the order was cancelled I don't know how many times I have explained this I have spoke to my bank today and they have told me in 14 days time if clearpay do not refund the money they have taken from my bank they can step in and open a dispute for the £119.75 I have also made an appointment to speak to trading standards tomorrow I will also be contacting the financial ombudsman today if you value sanity do not have anything to do with this company

Merchant never sent order
Merchant never sent order. Never replied to all calls and messages. Clearpay washed their hands of situation puting all responsibility on me only even though they knew Merchant was no responding. Clearpay ARE responsible equally and severably for completion of order or refund. Only intervention by MasterCard 3 months later effected refund. Clearpay have no UK number to contact and in all honesty are rubbish and have no scruples.
...Had response to this review from Clearpay they are NOW asking me to contact their chat room regarding a refund????.. Theyve had all details for months?? They are really so incompetent.

Worst company, impossible to contact.
I cannot log in to my account to pay an instalment because when I try to reset my password it asks my to verify an old card which I do not use anymore. There is no other way to reset my password. There is also no way to contact Clearpay by phone, only an online form but nobody gets back to you. If I do not pay by midnight tonight I will be charged which will affect my credit rating but there is no way to log in to pay.

The latest order was cancelled,amazon never received a dime from them,and I have to keep paying.They debited the money from my accounts in these 3 instances I've been with them for 2 years now they even closed down the dispute I raised.i want my money back from my amazon orders and please refund as I won't pay for goods I never got
