Extremely rude!

I spoke to this company on the phone. I was enquiring into whether they install the stoves, and also if they had a showroom where I could view the different log burners. The lady was extremely rude, kept saying I can’t view a log burner without understanding the size I need, kept interrupting me when I was talking. Will definitely not be purchasing a log burner from these, I’ll be going to Wenlock Stoves or a company online. Very disappointed as I like to support local businesses but this has really put me off.

Hello,
Please accept my apologies for the poor experience during your recent phone call to our office.
While we all have off days, clearly this should never be reflected in how we treat our customers. If you would like to give us a second chance please call and ask to speak to James.
I would be happy to discuss your requirements and make any relevant suggestions. You would also be welcome to visit our showrooms either at More Works or Ludlow,.
Once again I am sorry we fell short of our own expectations and standards.

We've had our magnificent Clearview…

We've had our magnificent Clearview stove for more years than I can remember and I needed some small spares for the handle before the winter returns. I telephoned their number and was immediately served by a charming, amusing and generous representative. You can't beat their stoves and you can't beat their staff. 10/10

I am back here to tell you if you are…

I am back here to tell you if you are looking for a wood burning stove multi fuel or otherwise. DO NOT buy from this company. I am about 5 / 6 years in from paying a great deal for the vision 500. I burns the logs away in no time. there is very little control. The brass handle is ridiculous, it gets so %^dy hot, and has fallen off continuously since I bought it. The grub screw holding it in is next to useless. No matter what they claim, the glass will not stay clear. I only burn DRY logs so they can't make claims that this is the reason. I, in all honesty wish I had not spent the ridiculous amount I did spend on this lower than average stove. As for after sales, customer service !!!!!!! They don't want to know. They are convinced they are leaders in their field, But they need to wake up and read what unhappy customers are saying. 5/6 years in , I am still unhappily stuck with this costly unit. GO ELSEWHERE.

Non existent customer services

Non existent customer services. Phoned Clearview today to make an enquiry about the heatproof rope around the door of my vision 500 stove. I asked what size the rope was and the lady who answered the phone literally refused to tell me what size the rope is accusing me of wanting to get information but buy the rope elsewhere. All she kept saying was I need a kit for £49. I had no idea what I needed or where I was going to buy it at that time, but I tell you what, I will not be buying from this company or recommending its products from here on in. All replacement parts I have previously purchased have been bona fide Clearview products. An owner is entitled to ask questions about the item they have purchased, and guess what, when you receive good customer service you are happy to purchase from them. The one thing I can say is that having now looked into this, you do not need to pay £49 for 2m of fire proof rope. Your loss Clearview.

Clearview Stoves are sorry that you felt disappointed by our service. The reason why we were reluctant to provide a diameter during your call was because, in most cases, customers wanting to know the diameter of the our door rope wish to purchase 'off the shelf' door rope either in a store or online. Any door rope that is not packaged by Clearview and purchased either from Clearview or through an authorised agent is unlikely to be our door rope and so will not provide a sufficient seal. This will result in an immediate reduction in performance and efficiency. We do not provide an a approximate diameter because we do not wish to encourage customers to buy an inferior product. As a company we order 'door rope' from our supplier, we do not specify a diameter, as it is not the diameter that is important, it is the thickness and the type of weave, both of which are unique to us. We tried to explain this over the phone, but perhaps were not clear enough.

I’ve recently visited the clearview…

I’ve recently visited the clearview works near Bishops Castle as my in-laws had developed a leak in their 30+ year old back boiler in the log burner.
Everybody was extremely courteous and helpful and seemed to have a good knowledge about their products and I did manage to replace several major parts in the log burner and return it to correct function and improve its rather tired appearance.
I was especially impressed that the parts I needed (quite major pieces) were available from stock and I took them away with me.
I would have love to have left 5 stars but can’t bring myself to based purely on the prices, I realise these stoves are at the premium end of the market but it definitely made me wince when I was given the total, so unfortunately-1 star based on that…

Use at your peril

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!
Aftersales is non-existent. IF you can make contact with anyone at Clearview Stoves, you'll be plied with empty promises. This is especially true of showroom staff in Stow-on-the-Wold. Money that is owed as a refund for over-ordered parts, WILL NOT returned. The Installer that put the stove in broke the hearth and the stove's collar but, won't come back to make repair. Even though it may not be safe!!

Clearview stoves a very expensive joke

Where to start with this company. Firstly they were very slow to complete the order and then to deliver it . When it did arrive ( 5 months later than stated ) the delivery driver was very unhelpful and almost ruined it taking it off the lorry . But the worst is yet to come, the glass is always dirty when in use, if you open the main door to add fuel then smoke pours into the room, the handle fell off the door after two weeks, the stove itself is impossible to keep clean , the riddler in the grate gets jammed up frequently. I went for the oven stove so I could use it for heating food in and on but it has underperformed every time . There is no after sales help (and I have tried calling them repeatedly ) they either don't answer or pick the phone up then put it straight down again. The whole thing is a waste of money . It's poorly built the design is crap and if it were possible to minus stars on this review I would definitely be putting - 10

Awful dreadful company

Awful, dreadful and appalling customer service, would have given no stars if one could of! Buyer beware this seems to be the normal rating for the reviews for Clearview…

Clearview Stoves have had my money since 12th July, £1,854.00 and at the time of ordering they quoted that delivery would be between 6-8 weeks but they kept putting the delivery time back and back and back which at the very latest should have been the 24th August. Eventually by the 21st September, I got so fed up with constantly chasing for a delivery date/timescale with calls and emails (including emails and phone requests to Jonathan Greenall the MD) none of which were ever returned or responded to, asked for my money back on the 21st September as no delivery or information on timescale was forthcoming.

Even though payment was taken over the phone, the Clearview refund process can only apparently be done via a cheque and only the MD, Jonathan Greenall could sign the cheque which was to be sent via post. Unfortunately Jonathan Greenall has never been around to sign the cheque as he is always in the factory?!

Order was cancelled on the 21st September in a telephone call with mutual agreement between the man who organises the deliveries on behalf of Clearview and my husband as Clearview had clearly broken their Agreement to deliver the ordered stove in their timescale, which the delivery manager fully admitted to. To date no refund has been received and it is now the 17th October.

The lady in the Accounts Dept, who apparently deals with ‘all the refunds’ (that’s an interesting phrase from Clearview themselves, so guessing there are many!) is extremely unprofessional and very rude - even to the point that she actually slammed the phone down on my husband even though he was very calmly and patiently asking for the return of the money after 21 days of waiting for it!

UPDATE: My next course of action was having to go through my Bank to get the money refunded under the terms of the Credit Card Consumer Act which my Bank did under a credit card Clawback for undelivered goods and that was the only way I got my £1,854.00 back as Clearview didn’t refund me even though it was Clearview’s negligence for undelivered goods. Please note a Bank will only pursue a clawback if they feel there is good reason to do so and they did on my behalf, so in other words Clearview was very much at fault and were negligent. I have also reported Clearview to Trading Standards, Which Consumer etc as would hate even one other person to go through what I did with them.

Good stoves if you can get one, don’t buy direct from manufacturer, but terrible, terrible, terrible ‘service’ only purchase with the knowledge that you will have an extraordinary amount of angst, stress and daily phone calls and emails that get no absolutely no reply, pay up front by 2 months for a stove that then doesn’t get delivered, and you will have to turn to your own Bank to pursue on your behalf to get your refund.

PLEASE bear this in mind and go buy a Chesney or a Woodwarm….

If any of the above facts are disputed by Clearview I would be very keen for them to respond to this…
