Ross ripped me off by taking money from me upfront for aircon and ASHP and then disappeared without doing the work. He's avoiding payment me back ever since. I've also just found out that Ross Stewart's Climate Control has unpaid 5 county court judgements totalling over £45k against him. Has anyone else had problems?
Ross was very fast at coming around and providing an inflated estimate. He was also good at pressure salesman tactics. Eventually we agreed a price and he confirmed no VAT would be due.
I signed an acceptance and posted. It was returned because the address on all his paperwork was wrong. He’d moved.
I paid for the equipment. He part removed the existing units, leaving holes through the walls. Then discovered that the electrical installation was not compliant with regulations. Took a couple of weeks to get an electrician and for the work to be done. Meanwhile we had gales blowing round the house.
Unfortunately Ross didn’t then get on with the work. Said he’d turn up, didn’t it was only on site for an hour. Although I’d also paid him for the electrician Ross didn’t pay the electrician.
Weeks rolled on, and on. Work completed late October. I sent 60% of the balance. I was away by then and he started to demand the balance before I could inspect. Add to that he included VAT on the bill.
I’ve never received such bullshit from a tradesman.
Installation seems good. But his attitude, timeliness and reliability mean I can’t recommend him. I wouldn’t have him back.
My experience has been really bad with Ross at Climate Control. I have an ongoing complaint with Ross at the moment, and will update this review with the details once it concludes.
