Talked with the owner who was very friendly although seemed to have a lot going on. After being told how easy it is to install over the phone, I received a somewhat hard to understand email that said my "project was too small and complicated" and " he'd have to pass on it". I find this way of stating that the window was unsuitable for the inserts to be diminutive. Yes, I'm not a corporation outfitting an entire office building. I'm just one person trying to block noise in my apartment. He also mentioned depth, which I can't imagine could be a problem since I have the deepest set windows I've ever encountered. So, essentially, he's saying that because of the drapes and blinds...? Since these are easily removed, I guess my conclusion is Mr. Petit is a bit small-minded in his vision, far too over-loaded in his tasks, and looking for large corporate or government budgets to make a project worth his very valuable time. With many other competitors in the field, I wish him "the best of luck with his sound pollution" business problems. In my opinion, if you want to get rid of a client for whatever reason, there's still plenty of ways to do it politely without accusing the client of too small a project, which I might add the same project has been quoted several thousand dollars by othe companies, so it's not a few hundred dollar project and they don't do any of the installation, so literally all they had to do was order it from the factory. It's hard to imagine a better client than that. I guess he's looking for bigger fish for certain.
So it's not out of context, see for yourself:
"It was equally nice speaking with you today as well and thank you for sending over your videos, pictures and window sizes.
Unfortunately, your window and door setup is not conducive to using our Climate Seal magnetic insert system due to the depth of the existing door hardware, window treatments for the windows and doors. It's a complicated, small project and I'm afraid we are going to have to pass on this opportunity.
Thank you for giving us a look and we wish you all the best with a solution to your sound pollution.
Kind regards,
Matthew Petit
