We would not book a party here again

We would not book a party here again. I booked a party and while the children enjoyed it, as a customer it was pretty disappointing.

Checking the children in was smooth and it had limited numbers so was able to have space without it being over crowded which was nice. The staff that welcomed us in were very friendly and helpful and Marcel was very good with organising a special dietary required meal for a guest of ours and was very nice.

However, I felt a bit underwhelmed upon entering the play, one of the inflatables was not working, which was I not informed about.

You are asked to arrive 30 minutes before but the briefing but it did not start for about another 20 minutes, therefore we are all standing around waiting, very frustrating as the information whilst informative for the children was something that could have been explained 10 mins before going into the session. I was informed I would be allocated a host, which was not the case (if I had one I don’t who it was). You only had a party room to eat, not for the entire duration. When I asked where our room was, I was told it would not be available throughout only for eating only, which I found annoying as it would have been nice to have had a safe place to put everyone’s belongings throughout instead of strewn across the floor as you go in.

I am surprised they don’t have countdown timer on the wall as the food was just put on a side table and then told you have 40 minutes and I was left to serve the food , drinks and organise the cake. I asked to borrow a lighter and a young guy brought one to the room and then was really rude and I quote ‘ you need to hurry up with this cake, as I need to get the lighter back to the kitchen’ in an brusque tone in front of all the other adults and children, which the adults were extremely shocked and wondered if they heard correctly. I will be honest I was absolutely disgusted with this, extremely bad customer service, you can’t talk to paying customers this way! I will however say that the food was nice and all the children enjoyed it.

Then another guy comes in and basically tells me as I’m putting cake into the party bags ‘you have need to be out in 5 minutes’ and he leaves and is standing outside the door waiting with another member of staff, applying mental pressure to get you out which was really surprising as there was not other guests in the inflatables arena so did not need the room however, as I left, most of the staff was standing at the bar chatting and laughing and the bar was not closing any time soon.

As an inflatable fun set of activities, I felt that the atmosphere was a bit delayed with a lack of enthusiasm with staff and there was hardly no interaction with the children.

Based on my experience, if was to do it again I would pay for the admissions only and eat at McDonald’s across the road as it would have been cheaper, not rushed to leave the table with the same inflatable experience.

Based on other parties, we did not feel this was a birthday party experience, lack of customer service, especially for the money which I would consider expensive when you consider a lot of options elsewhere.

Years ago I used to work for a company that hosted birthday parties and it was all about creating that special experience for the child and their friends to just have the best time, it was also the responsibility of the party host who would dish out food, top up drinks throughout and prepare the cake, if you are looking for that, the host if there even is one, does none of this, it’s just left to you, very disappointed. This is such a shame that I had such a disappointing experience!
