Payment subscription no refund

Hi,

my experience is not about the app itself, but about a payment subscription.
Paid annual 144USD (12USD/month). What it didnt say is that you cant get part of your money back if you cancel after a month or so.

Charged without confirmation screen, transcription is bad

Accidentally the upgrade button expecting a confirmation dialog before being charged (like 99% of websites do) - there was none. Money was taken immediately with no chance to review or cancel the transaction.

When I sought a refund, their policy only covers cases where the software isn't working, not accidental or unclear charges. No confirmation step before billing is poor practice at best and intentionally deceptive.

Avoid if you're just exploring the product - one misclick and you're charged with little recourse.

Also, the transcription is terrible. Frequently gets words wrong, frequently attributes speech to the wrong person. Transcript looks completely nonsensical.

Charged £390 annually with no confirmation screen

I was an existing Cluely Pro subscriber paying £15.73/month through a proper Stripe checkout. Inside the app I saw an upgrade card showing $42/month in large bold text. I clicked "Upgrade to yearly" and was immediately charged approximately $500 (~£390) with no confirmation screen, no total price shown, and no opportunity to cancel before payment was taken.
Compare this to my original subscription - a proper Stripe checkout at checkout.stripe.com showing the monthly price clearly before I paid. For the annual upgrade, that confirmation screen was completely absent. The full annual charge was taken silently and instantly.
I contacted Cluely the same day. Their AI agent "Fin" refused a refund citing internal policy. No human agent has responded to my formal cancellation notice citing Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, which gives UK consumers a statutory 14-day refund right.
I have since filed complaints with the UK Competition and Markets Authority, reported the matter to Stripe for breaching their own merchant terms on subscription disclosures, and escalated to my bank's Complaints Team.
The checkout design showing a monthly price while silently charging an annual total with no confirmation is a textbook dark pattern. UK consumers have statutory rights that override a company's internal refund policy.

Horrible scammy app

Horrible scammy app, used it once in september 25 to see if it could help in my sales process. Was crap and haven't been able to cancel since, have emailed help@cluely email several times, they just ignore my requests, I've also tweeted them. The cancellation process is a maze, no simple way to cancel at all. I've

What a bullshit app

What a bullshit - app closed itself on its own during the interview, when asked to provide an answer to a task with a screenshot (task concerning which number is exactly as the one provided above) gave multiple correct answers that were wrong, all analytical tasks based on screenshots were more than 50% wrong, multiple wrong answers for text-type questions, also the Cluely app was 100% detectable as separate window - during the test test ended since it detected Cluely. So this is one big bullshit and waste of money

Deleting it was only possible by manually using Activity Monitor on my Mac and force-quitting about seven separate processes.

The app constantly asks for permissions and keeps itself open, even when I don’t need it. It’s difficult to fully close, and I don’t want it running or listening in the background unless I explicitly activate it.

Deleting it was only possible by manually using Activity Monitor on my Mac and force-quitting about seven separate processes.

The worst part: the app suddenly opened on its own and started playing a instructional video with some Asian guy while I was on a video call. I couldn’t stop or mute it, it just kept playing without my consent. This is completely unacceptable.

Cluely seems to launch itself at random. In my case, I was on a call with a colleague, but if this had happened on a customer call, it would have been seriously damaging and unprofessional.

No app should behave this way without the user’s permission or control.

this program sucks, dont use it. Seriously. Give it time to develop more.

this program sucks, it doesn't support Outlook integration at all, despite the program telling me it does. The ai assistant told me I could access the program settings via the web. When prompted for the link, it provided me a dead link (404 server not found).

Which was a dead link. I asked Cluely why it provided me with a dead link and it told me that that site was depricated. Which means that at some point, the site existed and worked but no longer does. This still points to the fact that AI doesn't fact-check what they tell you yet, creating more frustration.

The program does not use my microphone outside of meetings at all. Not a game breaker but it would be better if it did work all the time.

I spent about 45 minutes trying to do pretty basic things they advertise is possible and I couldn't get this program fully setup.

I assumed maybe the problem might have been Malwarebytes breaking the install or creating problems for me. I uninstalled Cluely and then quit malwarebytes. I then re-installed Cluely without Malwarebytes running and I still ran into the same problems.

I assumed the problem was that im a moron and maybe im just missing a step somewhere. Nope, I made cluely read my screen and it also came to the conclusion that what it was asking me to do was impossible because the options didn't exist in the menus. Which again leads to the fact that Cluely's documentation is incorrect or missing information and the assistant couldn't give me correct details OR the program just sucks right now because it's still new and doesn't support features that are needed for modern businesses.

Not only am I unable to remove it from…

Not only am I unable to remove it from my Apple computer. It keeps saying the application is open so it cannot be deleted or disabled even after I force quit the application. When I go to delete the account from the application itself, the delete account box is not clickable. This is incredibly inappropriate and gives off SCAMMY vibes! Incredibly unacceptable and predatory really gives off bad vibes.

They are just a scam and you get a refund from them and can’t cancel your subscription. Also, the emails in their stripe invoices they send are broken as well as the email as on them.

Save yourself time and avoid them and their service.

Disappointed.

Made an accidental subscription and wasn’t refunded. Found the tool to be very difficult to use… tried it on a meeting, and I thought it would be better with suggesting options (most of the times it didn’t give any options related to the discussion which I could click on to get suitable responses). Disappointed, and not happy.
