Teacher mocked disabled child
My son does Cypher coding at his school as an after school club. He started to cry because the task overwhelmed him and he couldn't do it. Another boy started to make fun of him. 2 teachers in the classroom. The male teacher took a while but finally came over to help. As he was helping him, the female teacher looked over to the male teacher made eye contact and started laughing and rolling her eyes about my crying boy. I watched all this through the glass window in the door. The female teacher was horrified when she turned around and realised I saw the whole thing. I have no words. Definitely should not be in education and teachers obviously poorly vetted.

As you are aware, we have taken this review very seriously as it should not be a concern ever raised at one of our courses. We want to apologise again for the experience your child has had at our new coding club at his school. I hope that our recount of events and discussions via the school have helped with some understanding of the event that occurred at club. As you are aware, our Cypher Teachers attempted to be as supportive and comforting as possible during your child’s moment of distress. Our teachers tried to ease the tension in a light hearted manner and we are saddened that this technique in class came across the wrong way through the glass window. We wanted to let you know that there was no ill intent meant by our teachers, we have also provided extra training to make sure teachers feel better prepared to aid students when they are visibly upset. We have discussed school specific strategies to ensure classroom behaviour is better maintained and throughout the courses moving forward.
We are working closely with the school to implement their new house points system which will award points to students for good behaviour as well as take away points for misbehaving. We have also put in place a better process for the school to work with us to report SEND needs to our teachers prior to the start of clubs. We have worked with many children with SEND needs in our other schools and hope to be able to support your child in a more comfortable environment in the future. We are sorry you've taken the decision to remove your child from club this term.
We are passionate about ensuring every child has an amazing introduction and experience with coding and therefore really hope that you will consider his enrolment again in the future. Again, we are deeply sorry that you witnessed your child in distress, that cannot have been easy, but we hope the the measures we have put in place will help you feel your child will be supported if he chooses to return to clubs. Cypher was a great place to work
Cypher was a great place to work. I learnt a lot about teaching kids and coding. The work place was welcoming and each day, all of my managers were supportive, and the kids were wonderful.

My daughter attended an online class…
My daughter attended an online class during lockdown and absolutely loved it - the teacher kept her completely engaged and she looked forward to the class every day. I loved watching her really engage in the class. At the end of the week, she very proudly showed us what she learned. Also, the customer service was excellent in that we had a small issue on our side in the beginning that was very efficiently resolved. We will definitely sign up for more Cypher classes!

Kids created their own game…
Both my son and daughter loved the online camp, which involved creating a Roblox type game, with their own characters and platforms. Much better for both their minds and their self esteem, rather than just playing games on the iPad.

Cypher provides excellent tuition
Cypher provides excellent lessons that are accessible and fun! My children loved learning code with Cypher and the individual attention that the teachers are able to give all children during lessons kept them engaged, focussed and learning according to their own ability.

Fun, social and informative
Our children (son 10, and daughter 8) attended a 5-day course during the summer holiday and both absolutely loved it. My son is more computer literate whereas my daughter is more social and enjoys playing with others, but the course seemed to have the perfect balance of both. (Our children have also made friends and have kept in contact after the course had finished.) We would definitely consider sending them back during the next holidays.

Wonderful, fun and interactive camp in Ealing
The camp was excellent and our son had a fantastic time and learnt so much. The teaching was excellent and we got great feedback on what was being taught. The little gifts each child received were a great touch and we loved it so much we came back for some of the next week too! We will happily come back next year and highly recommend. As a final point the admin staff were super helpful and really friendly too. A great camp and a great company too!
