I am so impressed by the customer service. I ordered trainers that came in the wrong colour. I called, they looked into it, confirmed their mistake the same day and offered to either collect by courier for a refund or i could accept a discount. Thy staff were friendly, helpful and i will definitely use them again.

Recently rebranded as Coes from previous Goddard. I went there based on past reputation which sadly is no longer lived up to. We went to the King’s Lynn branch looking force £700 coat shown on their website as “in stock”. Entering the store I was struck by the intense musty smell of damp and the harsh bright lighting. Several staff standing around ignoring us. After searching for a few minutes with no sign of the style of item being looked for, I asked a very bored untidily dressed staff member about the product. She replied -contemptuously- “oh we don’t stock those here”.
I showed her the web page. She turned away replying that “ must be another branch, perhaps Ipswich”
Very poor standard of service, no customer care, bored, disengaged, contempt radiating from her. I left, very disappointed. How do they think they can survive in this internet age when they make the customer experience so unpleasant. They deserve to go bankrupt. Certainly I shall never think of using them ever again.

I’ve ordered the same item from this website twice and had problems both times. The first order was cancelled after payment because the item wasn’t actually in stock. On the second attempt, I’ve been waiting nearly a week for delivery via DHL eCom, which has been unreliable with repeated delays and cancellations, and no way to contact them directly. Overall, a poor experience — I wouldn’t recommend ordering from the website given these issues. The actual shop might be a different story….

Today my wife and I visited Ipswich COES looking for new trousers. After browsing for a while, we met Mr. Roger from Menswear, and we were absolutely amazed by the level of service he provided.
Roger went above our expectations — not only did he help us find exactly what we needed, but he also shared his great knowledge of clothing with genuine passion for his work. Thanks to his guidance, we left completely satisfied with our purchase.
We are very thankful to this kind gentleman and truly appreciate the outstanding service he gave us. People like Roger make shopping a real pleasure.

I ordered a Pair of pj’s from this company however the Brand was The Night Store whom I have previously ordered a set of Pj’s and robe from. I expected to receive the same quality being it was the same brand. On receipt of my order I was extremely disappointed the item was poorly made with huge plastic buttons and badly stitched as it had come from a sweat shop ( the original set I purchased from the actual night store company had smaller covered buttons in the same fabric) and great workmanship and had a satin bag in the same fabric attached which made the product look high end. As I write this review I am returning this item back to Coes & Golding. I will not be ordering from them again.

I went into Coe’s in Maldon as I needed a dressing gown for my partner and had no idea what I was doing.
Alison went through all the options with me and has ordered one down from the Ipswich store. She is brilliant

Took my reluctant father to hire a suit. Alison was 5* and made him feel comfortable with his choice.
Alison is Coes and Maldon’s very own Gok Wan. Nothing too much trouble with every possible eventuality covered. Wonderful experience and would thoroughly recommend Alison and Coes.

Great service. First product was received in excellent time. I had to exchange due to a product fault and the customer service and reshipping of the item was faultless. Definitely recommend.

100% pleased with my online purchase from Coes. The price for my silver trainers was great, the service friendly and super fast. My trainers arrived this morning in a lovely neat package with a handwritten card, a nice touch. They fit perfectly. I wore them out to lunch and got lots of compliments. So all in all a happy experience - thank you.

Amazing customer service, a lady helped my son pick a suit for his prom, was an excellent service, could not fault at all. Suit looked amazing. Then came the bad news from my son that he was no longer going prom. Spoke to Goldings, they didn’t even ask for an explanation, they were happy and helpful enough, as I hadn’t picked up my suit that was still with them they gave me full refund. Will be now making this my new shirt shop & if I need a suit I know where I’m going. Excellent service.

Daughters went into buy expensive trainers, staff looked down their nose and decided they were not worth serving. They felt that it was because it was how they were dressed, they had just come from the gym.
Shame as they missed out on 2 x running trainer sales which ended up in them spending their money in alternative shops, who were happy to serve them.

Needed a wardrobe refresh, so popped to Coes: sales staff were friendly and helpful, there was plenty of high-quality clothing to choose from, and the prices were pretty good (I caught the tail end of the January sales). Will definitely head back to look at the new spring collections.

Needed an XXXl suit for my niece's wedding. Haven t bought a suit for years. Pity what was available off the peg was so expensive.So I decided to hire. Staff were excellent and knew their business. And they couldn't have been more helpful. Not a convenient journey,but worth it. Coes is everything a business should be.I needed help and advice for such a special occasion.The staff know how important it is,to get these things right. I will certainly go back should I need another suit. Many thanks to all the staff.

I had a great experience at the Maldon store, with the two lovely ladies working there. I had initially chosen Coes as the prices were more reasonable than other suit shops, but it exceeded my expectations in every way!
Although I was hiring a suit rather than purchasing one, they put so much care and attention into making sure it would fit perfectly. They also spoke extremely highly of the company and owners, which was fantastic to hear. It was a breath of fresh air, and reminded me how high streets used to be filled with family run businesses.

Ordered a fragrance and it arrived within a couple of days - packaged very well. It was also priced very competitively.

Suits hired for son's wedding from Maldon. The service and quality of suits and shirts is outstanding. Nothing is too much trouble.

If you want to have your faith in good customer service restored, then please go to Coe’s In Ipswich. Staff are absolutely lovely, very knowledgeable and unbelievably helpful.
They are not just a clothes shop but also have a great selection of unusual and thoughtful gifts for all occasions.
And the parking is free.
