Knot & Stone / Macramé Jewelry Academy – selling another creator’s videos without permission
I purchased the “Macramé Jewelry Academy” advertised by Knot & Stone and sold through coleccionebooks.com.
Before purchasing, I contacted Knot & Stone and asked to see an actual lesson from the course. Sophie, who introduced herself as “the person behind Knot & Stone,” sent me a video and described it as a video “from inside the Academy.”
After purchasing the course, I noticed a “Subscribe” message inside one of the videos, which seemed very strange for content supposedly belonging to a paid course. I searched using a screenshot from the video and found the original creator: Fabiana Silva from the YouTube channel Macramê Tecendo Cor em Nós.
I contacted Fabiana directly. She confirmed that the videos being sold as part of this paid course are her YouTube tutorials and that she has never given Knot & Stone or Coleccionebooks permission to use or sell them.
Fabiana also told me that another purchaser had already contacted her about the same issue approximately one month earlier. She is now reporting the matter to Shopify and filing a police report in São Paulo.
I bought this course believing I was purchasing legitimate educational material from Knot & Stone. I would never have purchased it had I known that the paid course contained another creator’s videos being sold without her authorization.
I have kept my proof of purchase, access to the course materials, my correspondence with Knot & Stone, and my correspondence with the original creator.
I strongly recommend checking the origin of the course materials before purchasing Macramé Jewelry Academy from Knot & Stone / coleccionebooks.com.
