Coleman 8 man blackout tent
I bought an 8 man octagonal tent (blackout) back in Feb 24 and first used it in mid August, I would say a good quality tent as it was similar to the previous tent which was an 8 man octagonal (not blackout) which I used for 4 or 5 years without problem
we arrived at the campsite as usual weather was typical of an august in Kent we ate or food before bedding down for the night round 9pm. Come midnight I noticed condensation dripping from the ceiling. All I could do was to video it and get on with the weekend
on Saturday morning a took a further look to see if I had missed some type of vents to allow for crossflow ventilation there was none,I searched the web today I typed in 8 man bell tents and every one I could see had 2 ventilation points at the apex.the moisture in my opinion as a camper for some twenty years was excessive and almost everything that was on the tent floor was damp
the second night was much the same, I was of the opinion that the top sheet being of greater water resistance was holding the condensation on the inner side of the top sheet it is my opinion that Coleman overlooked this element at design stage as my previous tent never had this problem
when emailing to supplier they contacted Coleman and there response was to say they had not had a problem with that tent before. I found this hard to believe as there were only two adults and a child in it roughly a third of the capacity which equates to a third of the moisture so not accepting there was a problem I have no choice but to seek recompense by sending a court order to the supplier they will have two weeks to respond this if they don't want to explain the videos. will update this post as soon as
