I’m enjoying this platform

I love the Collabstr interface and how easily it is to navigate around it. The collaborations vary and it’s refreshing to see different companies who welcome my creativity.

I spent over $7,000 on Collabstr

I spent over $7,000 on Collabstr. Sadly and shockingly, when I needed them to intervene after an influencer never delivered — despite being fully paid — their response was dismissive of responsibility.

For months, Collabstr staff told me they were “messaging the influencer” and following up, which gave me the impression this issue would be resolved through their platform. But eventually, I was told directly by their cofounder: “Collabstr will not be involved in this process.”

In another email, Rebecca from their team told me my order “does not qualify for refund” even though no deliverables were received!

From my perspective, this is completely against Collabstr’s own promises, where they advertise: “We hold the funds until the creator delivers the content” and “You only pay for what you get.”

Because of their delays and refusal to act, it became impossible for me to raise this with my bank, leaving me out of pocket. As a bootstrapped startup founder, I feel betrayed and unprotected. Collabstr markets itself as a platform that safeguards brands, but in my experience, they abandoned me when I needed them most.

In my view, even their founders don’t stand by their words. Shocking and disappointing.

Edit replying to their comment:

The refund I received was arranged by Grail Talent, the new management team of the influencer, not Collabstr. Collabstr was not the party who facilitated the return of funds. I am honestly shocked they falsely claim they facilitated the refund!

Their reply here calls the amount, that they still didn’t refund until today “a small transaction fee,” but in fact the platform fee was $500 USD for this particular order— which is not a small amount by any means. The order wasn’t delivered as confirmed by their emails. It’s a ridiculous amount when I got nothing but exhaustion throughout this process.

Collabstr could have been more strict with the influencer and disputed the funds. Instead, they dragged the process for over 8 months. For me, this doesn’t seem sorry or responsible. What kind of company charges $500 for an undelivered order? I have never in my life came across this experience before.

Hi Ahmad,

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate the chance to clarify.

On Collabstr, brands have full control over when funds are released to creators. In this case, the payment was released by your team before the content was delivered. We make it clear throughout our platform that once funds are released, we are unable to automatically recover them, which is why we strongly recommend waiting until you’re fully satisfied before approving a payout.

That said, our team went above and beyond to assist, and we were able to successfully recover your funds. You ultimately received a full refund for the order.

The only amount we were unable to return was the small transaction fee, which is charged directly by the payment processor and is not retained by Collabstr. While we explained this at the time, we understand that it caused frustration and regret that it added to your overall experience.

We’re committed to making Collabstr a safe and transparent place for both brands and creators, and we’ll continue improving our processes to help avoid situations like this in the future.

It was truly a pleasure working with Gilden Tree.

It was truly a pleasure working with Gilden Tree.

The communication was always kind, respectful, and clear and I loved how much trust and creative freedom they gave me to bring the product to life in my own voice.
Beyond the collaboration itself, I genuinely admire the brand values especially the focus on sustainability, artisan production, and social responsibility. Highlighting these aspects to my audience felt authentic and aligned with what I believe in.

Smooth First Collaboration Experience

This was my first time using Collabstr, and I’m impressed by how straightforward the platform is. Communication with the brand was easy, file uploads worked without a hitch, and the process kept everything organized and transparent from start to finish. I really appreciated having a clear agreement in place before creating content — it made the collaboration stress-free. Looking forward to using Collabstr again!
