similar to tinder

(I'm writing this because of all the negative reviews. I don't even use trustpilot site) - I'm going to be very frank - if you aren't attractive and do not have good photos, this site will suck but so will any dating app. I'm 5 feet 11 inches. Slim, athletic build, Asian and I'm not ugly... I had pretty good success with this online site. Met up with one girl and she was real. I took out to a nice cafe, we kissed. Got her an uber back home (be aware that the average salary is like 300 USD so a 7 USD cab ride is a lot). There were a couple more girls that were interested in meeting but I honestly didn't have the time. Between here and tinder, this site is much better. I hear Bumble is good as well from a friend who was using it in Medellin. I'd recommend trying to get onto the site 2-4 weeks before flying down to Colombia to start some convos. Start your convos relaxed and get them off the website after a couple (5-6 exchanges) of messages and ask for their instagram (to see if they are a real person) AND whatsapp. If you are a boring texter, you will get ghosted as well. Be warned, you do have to do a lot of weeding out - there are a lot of girls asking for money right off the bat or escorts/prepagos, but also some genuine girls looking to date (or a sugar daddy). There are also a lot of weird bots. They ask you for skype or gmail chat...(who the heck uses these) and then text you for a bit before stopping the convo (I have heard the site hires people to do this trick, it could be...). There's also the classic "my phone or laptop is broken, please send me money" trick. Try it for a month and see how it goes (I paid for the week and ended up getting a month after because I wanted to keep talking).

edit /update (2025)- after going back a couple of times for spanish school and vacation... and using tinder and bumble too- I can say that colombiancupid is the worst app. Use bumble but again, it's all dependent on photos and if you're actually a decent looking guy. I found that with better photos each time, I got way more matches with attractive girls.

Apple subscription is $36 for Platinum

Apple subscription is $36 for Platinum, on Colombian Cupid website it is $46. Also if you sign up via Apple, ColombianCupid has no way to trace your purchase, and then when you speak to them about the price discrepancy they completely ignore it because they think they are smooth, so how smooth are you now with a 1 star on Trust Pilot?

Scam website

This site, and all of its associated dating sites like LatinAmericanCupid, Anastasia this and that …, are all useless and are scams. Girls are either fake/scammers or women with kids in need of a man who will support them and their kids (something I will never do, and rather stay alone). 10% of the girls are good looking, like in the general US population. I upgraded to a paid membership and the site pushes me to upgrade even more, which I will not do. I will not renew the subscription. In general, all the dating websites seem to be like this now. This model seems to be the only way to maximize profits for these companies. In the beginning these sites worked for meeting people, but they’ve all gotten corrupted about 20 years ago. These companies are not regulated at all. Seems like the best thing to do is just go out and randomly meet people than to use these sites.

They can arbitrarily delete your account permanently after you paid!

Yesterday I logged into the app. And my account was permanently suspended. I emailed customer service and they said the following:

“Dear Isaac,

Thank you for contacting us.

Our site provides a safe and secure environment aimed at helping members connect with that special someone as a desired partner or friends.

As you have indicated on your account, you are not seeking members for the aforementioned reasons.

It is with that in mind that we have unfortunately removed your account from the site and cannot permit it to be reactivated.

We wish you luck in your future search.

Kind Regards,

The ColombianCupid Team”

I asked them to please escalate this issue to a supervisor. They are now ignoring me. Don’t waste your money. I repeatedly reported women who are looking for sugar daddies and they repay me by blocking me, a paying customer!

AUTORENEW - basically steals from your card and continues to turn itself back on without your authorisation and the profiles of woman are not true and are misleading across the entire CUPID platform.

You have to be really, really careful with this company.

They have a AUTORENEW function that keeps turning itself back on, even when you have turned it off, they continue to turn it back on, thus leading to renewal and payments of minimum £17.00 per week for what is a pretty poor level dating platform.

Many woman are after money, they ask you for money, they are fake and simply not worth the time. But it is the con of the AUTORENEW on the entire Cupid.Com platform that is basically theft and I want them investigated for it.

I have had 6 times now where they have taken money from my card without my authorisation because their AUTORENEW turns itself back on.

That is theft and the platform offers nothing but an expensive hole in your pocket, because even if you do not authorise payments, Cupid.Com still takes the money.

0/10 for how they go about taking money from you
1/10 for the woman, most are wanting money and you to pay for things, there is about as much honest dating and conversation on this platofrm as much as trusting the British Government, you follow?.

Terrible, having you investigated Cupid.Com, not just your colombiancupid platform, but your braziliancupid platform and all other platforms and that investigation is with the UK Trading Standards and International Trading Standards.

Someone has to deal with you Cupid and that person will be me and I will not stop until you are stopped and closed down. All Cupid.COM platforms are a massive con. I will make sure for all their customers who are legal and ligit, that I am having them investigated by powers who can remove them in a heartbeat.

No apologies from them, no explanation as to why they continue to turn on AUTORENEW behind your back, that is theft, end of and thieves, especially big online thieves like CUPID.COM will get their comeuppance.

Good and bad.

Good and bad.
The fact is: those girls are amazingly beautiful. And...basically, this is it.
I was living in Colombia for over two years- and the conclusion: a good body is not everything!
You will pull the long black hair together with tonnes of traumas, and tragedies, and you will pay for it. This way of another. Time, money, bleeding heart.
Of course- Colombia has lots to offer. Even a good woman. But- they have a good man too.
Be careful play safe and think. Think twice.
