Comcast replaced a defective streaming…

Comcast replaced a defective streaming box at my residence ~4-5 years ago. Rather than replacing the item in my billing, they added the replacement and kept charging me $14/month for the defective unit. Their online billing portal limits past records to 24 months, preventing self-service access to older statements. I requested an internal (Comcast) network audit of the defunct box to verify zero network activity and a full credit refund for the duplicate equipment charges.
In hours of fruitless attempts to correct the issue (4-5 calls to ‘customer service’), I was finally told I could get a $336 refund for 24 months of double $14 billing, and was given their ticket #. They said they'd send confirming emails but did not. They are defrauding me.
Delay, denial, promises--they don't care. Their protocol is to punish the customer.

Terrible reception and customer service

Had Comcast Cable service about 20 years ago, after they bought out Media One in the Ann Arbor cable market. Their service was always terrible. The customer reps on the phone were rude, their rates kept going up and there was constant interference in our programming. We switched to Directv in 2009 and had much better service. Now we have YouTubeTV streaming service and never get any interference from inclement weather and save lots of money.

In 2023, when we moved back to Ann Arbor from Tallahassee, the only home internet in our area was Comcast's Xfinity service. So we signed up. We had terrible reception and Xfinity kept trying to raise our rates. We finally canceled and signed up for home internet with T-Mobile and pay only $35 a month and never have WIFI failure, like we constantly had with Xfinity.

Avoid Comcast and Xfinity for your own good.

Comcast Business Failure

Our experience with Comcast Business has been one of the most frustrating vendor relationships we've ever had.

Our business experienced approximately seven months of intermittent service degradation, during which Comcast's own systems repeatedly indicated that our connection was unstable and required attention. Throughout that time, we consistently received internet speeds that were a fraction of the service level we were paying for.

After months of troubleshooting, Comcast ultimately determined that the root cause was its own infrastructure—not our equipment, network, or internal systems.

You would think that after admitting the problem originated on their side, Comcast would make things right. Instead, they refused to provide any meaningful billing credit despite months of substandard service.

The support experience was equally disappointing. We were routinely routed to overseas customer support representatives who were polite but often lacked the authority or technical visibility to move the issue forward. As a result, we spent countless hours repeating the same information to different people without meaningful progress.

I want to acknowledge that Daniel Hardy was professional, courteous, and responsive whenever we communicated. Unfortunately, he appeared constrained by Comcast's internal bureaucracy and was unable to obtain a fair resolution despite his efforts.

Equally frustrating was the complete lack of continuity. Our previous Comcast director contact, John Hale, disappeared from the process without any communication or transition, forcing us to start over with new contacts while our issue remained unresolved.

As of this writing, our executive escalation ticket (ECM0022689417) has remained open for weeks with little meaningful action.

This experience has cost our company significant time, productivity, and frustration. The technology eventually got fixed, but only after seven months of degraded service—and Comcast's response was essentially, "Problem solved, no credit."

Businesses don't pay Comcast Business premium prices simply for internet access. We pay for reliability, accountability, and responsive support when things go wrong. Unfortunately, Comcast failed on all three.

If your business depends on reliable internet service, evaluate every available alternative before signing a contract with Comcast Business.

I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience with Comcast. My bill kept increasing without a clear explanation, and the service quality did not justify the higher costs. The internet connection was unreliable, with frequent issues and interruptions.

When I decided to cancel because of the poor service and constant price increases, the process was frustrating. To make matters worse, I was later sent to collections, which I believe was handled unfairly.

I would not recommend Comcast based on my experience. Customers deserve transparent billing, reliable service, and fair treatment when they decide to cancel.

comcast does not value long time customers charges them more

worst lack of customer service. they have AI on the phone takes an act of god to get a live agent and I mean it is near impossible but if you are willing to deal with a computer that does not ack, what you ask for , for a good 1/2 hour
to possibly get a live agent, then you will get inconsistant wrong information with nobody to give you correct information. even their stores do not have telephone to ask questions. pathetic. a customer of 13 years cant get a deal on internet only but a brand new customer gets it for half. so they dont value you as a customer, only want new business. pathetic

Comcast Business Terrible Business partner

Comcast Business has been one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had.

They raised my bill by nearly 70% without any fair explanation, charged an outrageous amount for equipment, and somehow renewed my contract while also billing me for an installation that never even happened. It feels dishonest and completely unfair.

Their billing practices are misleading, and getting clear answers from customer service is nearly impossible. For a company that claims to support businesses, this level of service is unacceptable.

I strongly recommend that any business stay far away from Comcast Business and carefully check every charge if you’re already stuck with them.

Foul language recorded

We canceled our account because of horrible service. Paid down to zero and switched to sister company. After we got off phone with horrible staff. We got a $700 bill in mail from them. Then they used profanity and insults towards my wife. Brave Lil bunnies when using foul language and being impossible to even get words in. Shame on the cowards who abuse Churches, Church staff when robbing them.

I'm very disappointed with Xfinity…

I'm very disappointed with Xfinity right now. I received an SMS alert on my phone this morning. claiming that there was a charge on my card. I checked my account to see what the charge was for, but there was no information available. So I went online and had a virtual chat. It turns out it was for an Agent Assistance Charge cost. Like WTF. In all these years, I've never heard of such a thing. To make things even worse. They make it so you'll have to call in. For example. I proceeded to alter my plan and selected the one I wanted. Only to see an error page telling me. For Further assistance to contact their agent. The other thing is, I never enable auto payment. The only thing I can see is that the agent did not disclose the charge and enable the auto payment for the charges to go through.

Terrible Service at Ridiculous Prices, AND THEY KNOW IT

I spent literal hours of my weekend trying to resolve an issue, and they did such a bad job that I'm now sharing my experiences everywhere.

I had the app crash once, multiple "accidental" disconnects of the chat, and my router spontaneously reset itself during one chat (which has never happened before). Each time, I had to start over from scratch. It took 8 people before I gave up, and all I wanted was some sort of customer loyalty discount because another provider charges half what they do. I didn't need half, but I thought we could negotiate lower.

When doing that took over an hour, I asked if I'd be receiving a survey. I explained that my issue was with the policies and procedures, not the customer service reps, but I couldn't get anyone to answer that question. After multiple times my chat just disconnected, I requested a supervisor, which they refused to provide to me.

Then, I looked for a way to email to inform them what happened. There's no asynchronous way to contact them unless you use Reddit or X. If there is, it's so well hidden and denied by everyone at the company, that it functionally doesn't exist. They aren't seeking opinions because they don't care if your experience is bad because they assume you have no other options. And that's not a conspiracy theory, the call center worker actually told me that switching to another company wouldn't resolve my problem because no other company would be able to provide fast internet where I live.

Bottom line: If you have any other option, I can't imagine it will be worse than XFinity. I suppose if you find a company that also comes to your house and kicks you after providing bad service at ridiculous prices, that would be worse, but that won't happen as long as they have to pay an actual employee to do that because that would require them to adequately staff to support the number of customers they have, and that doesn't seem to be a priority.

Comcast has the worst customer service…

Comcast has the worst customer service I've ever experienced (other than one other company - Amerigas).
First it's difficult to find somone to help you by phone and then on the chat, you are chatting with someone overseas (likely India) who are usually very polite, but also incompetent. Even assurances in writing are broken. I cannot wait to be done with this company.

Twelve to eighteen months after singing…

Twelve to eighteen months after singing up with Comcast, I began having broken cable signals. I contacted Comcast about it and they sent a technician to my home to supposedly “fix” the problem. For about, 2 months it seemed that they had until the problem re-occurred. So, I contacted them again and they sent another technician. Same thing happened. Over the course of a few years, I’ve dealt with 6-7 technicians that Comcast sent to my home to correct the problem yet the problem continues to exist. Unfortunately, at the time that I subscribed to their cable TV and internet there really wasn’t any other choice. They were essentially the only provider in my area. In addition, to the numerous technicians they’ve sent to my home I spent countless valuable time attempting to get by placing phone calls only to reach their voice mail merry-go-round, trying to get service via their virtual online chat assistants and several trips to a Comcast store to speak with someone directly. All ending in extreme frustration and dissatisfaction with my experiences. Trying to seek credit on my account for the lack of service they’ve provided only proved to be a nightmare resulting in peanuts (pennies on the dollar)! Comcast is a monopoly that cares more about protecting their bottom line tag providing their customers with reasonable service that customers should be able to expect. Their TV ads are an absolute joke! Clearly, they don’t understand the value of a customer or care less. I will never suggest Comcast to anyone!

One of the WORST companies for customer…

One of the WORST companies for customer service. Half the time I try and call the automated system continues to try and have me handle my problems with the Virtual Assistant. I continually ask to speak with a live agent and the automated system takes over again. I have to call over and over, finally I say DISCONNECT my services and instantly a live agent comes on the phone. This Is a waste of time, there are agents that answer, obviously outsourced and very difficult to understand what they are saying.

Even the simplest tasks are time wasters when dealing with comcast. Just to change my credit card to a different card for billing took me a half hour. Their automated system is determined to send you to AI. The the AI sends you to the wrong place. I wish there was any other choice but to use Comcast. It makes me want to scream when I have to call for anything.

Comcast will purposely fail to receive/acknowledge your termination request

Don't sign on with comcast for internet.

They require you to sign a docusign agreement for cancelling, and will continue to bill you for 30 days after your disconnect request.

What's particularly evil is the docusign functionality straight up doesn't work. My father said he had submitted the docusign for termination, but Comcast and docusign claimed he never did. So he get billed for an extra month.

Thing is, after he claimed that, to make sure it wasn't his error, I watched him properly sign a new resend of the termination document after I called in to request a new termination form to be emailed to him. I watched him fill it out properly and submit it, and saw the confirmation page in our web browser after we hit the submit button.

But I know from prior experience, you are supposed to get a confirmation email for completed docusign documents. And he never got one by the end of the next day.

So I told him to look at the original document link which took him to the docusign form. One of the fields which I saw him fill in previously was now BLANK, even though I know it was filled in, because I helped him choose the choice. So, the form was acting like it was never completed, even though it was done properly the previous day. So we resubmitted it AGAIN, and finally, we got the confirmation email.

I believe Comcast and Docusign are purposely making the docusign functionality flaky, so they can bilk you out of an extra month because "you didn't complete the docusign online", even though you did - the system just doesn't register it properly unless you check it AGAIN after your original submission and "fix" whatever single field the docusign software blanks out to make it look like you didn't do it properly originally. Absolute scumminess.

From 9 Stars to 0, zilch, not-a-one!

USE AT&T - Heck, use ANY OTHER company and RUN, RUN, RUN far, far away from Xfinity / Comcast ISP and / or its Mobile Service!!!

I've been an Xfinity (Comcast) customer for over 14 years (although their records show 12). I used to love XFinity. While it was never perfect, customer service was easy to get through to, and even if late, they'd come through and resolve most every issue. NOW, in addition to raising prices for non-fiber lines, they're trying to automate, get rid of people and pocket savings by instituting the WORST App on the planet. It is coded by people who have no idea what they're doing, in-house coders, or a contractor who bid too low on the work.

It does the MOST minimum of things, answers in the most canned ways, loops you around in circles ... and yet Comcast PUSHES customers to use it in no uncertain terms. You literally cannot get help in any way, shape or form until you do a fifteen-minute dance with their go-nowhere App. OUR time means nothing to them. Every agent I have (finally) gotten through to, tells me the exact same thing: overwhelmingly, people complain about the App, but Comcast / XFinity is not budging (on the contrary), nor are they improving it in any great way.

I am literally looking at AT&T on another tab at the moment even THOUGH an XFinity agent just told me that if I disconnect my XFinity (Comcast) internet service, I will need to pay an additional $25 per mobile line (I have three with them)!!!

This is a company who worked hard at establishing customer loyalty, only to put it out with the trash, then lit a match to it for good measure!!!
