Just taken another delivery from compost direct ,as usual a great product and smooth delivery,much easier than going to our local suppliers and lugging bags home in the car,the driver left it at the end of drive and was easy to barrow to where it was needed,what’s not to like.

This is my first purchase from Compost Direct of Horticultural grit. Just what I needed for my heavy clay soil, having dug it all in and needing more I purchased another bag about two weeks later. The service was excellent from a low loader onto my drive for easy access. Thank you.

Huge bag of compost soil arrived quickly and was a lovely crumbly texture, perfect for my new flower beds. I have had black compost from them before which was also excellent.

This is the 3rd or 4th time I have bought black gold compost; perfect for enhancing soil and all other uses, so much better than garden centre new type compost which is hopeless. Plant growth is much stronger; gardeners regard the soil as now good. Driver delivered to a point on our driveway as requested

The delivery driver was fantastic in placing my goods (Bark and agricultural grit) exacty where i asked for them to be placed. Will be reordering more Bark in the not to distant future. Five star all round

What a brilliant way to buy compost. Think of all the plastic sacks I have prevented from landfill. The black gold has done wonders for the garden in my new home, where the previous owners had left an overgrown garden with impoverished soil. Slowly slowly life is returning to the soil.

As with other customers I would rate compost direct products as 5 star. I’m a landscaper and have been using compost direct for many years and their compost gives consistently great results. Unfortunately a few years back they chose to subcontract delivery to a pallet only company, which does not lend it self to 90%of my clients driveway. To add to this the drivers are always very rude to me and my clients. If the pallet trolley was manual instead of electric this would help alleviate the delivery on gravel issue. I have chose an alternative supplier if I think delivery will be an issue.

Can thoroughly recommend the multi purpose topsoil which I have ordered many times - perfectly suits my planting requirements. Also very pleased with the topsoil lawn dressing ideally suited for lawn patching and levelling.

Absolutely first class product. We had a slight hitch with our order being split, but Karen in customer service was very helpful and kept us informed of the situation.

Great stuff. This is my third bag I’ve used for my allotment which is on clay soil. This has improved my crop yield and attracted more worms which can only be a good thing.
Delivery was placed exactly where I wanted it and the product itself is well rotted material easy to dig in and also easy to re-bag as I had to.

I have used this compost for my many pots and to invigorate the soil on the garden. Over the summer my plants have taken on a new lease of life, looking perkier. Delivery was courteous and helpful and deposited where I wanted it. Excellent product and excellent service.

As always Compost direct delivered the "Black gold" on time. It is honestly the best growing medium I've ever used in my garden beds; the plants just love it (as do I !!)

Shall be ordering more for the new areas being made into beds using no dig. Can't wait to get started once the flower season is over.

Despite 'Black Gold' being an excellent product, which I've used for many years now with astonishingly good results on tired borders, Compost Direct will now only deliver by a pallet system - they cannot/will not/do not deliver by crane lorry any more. They say they cannot deliver on to properties with a gravel drive (or a slope or on to grass or an unmade road) because their pump trucks are operated manually. This smacks of Compost Direct abandoning its numerous domestic customers.
I made personal contact with Karen (Office Manager) by phone and email, only to be told with absolute intransigence that delivery onto a gravel drive was not possible with their current pallet system. The move to 'pallets only' must surely be having a significant impact on business, or is the private customer simply not worthwhile?

Great price but let down by the delivery. Customer service regarding the delivery problem was excellent.

Excellent products - good delivery and value.
Used the top soil with manure and the compost for veggies. Loved both products and mixed they work really well together.
The delivery driver was fab and she help load the pallet as close to the garden as was humanly possible.
Our veg and flowers have loved both mixes. I will be buying again.

Lovely consistent quality compost. It needs mixing in with soil or other matter as it dries out if left as a surface dressing. I've used it on flower beds at a new-build site with heavy clay one spade depth down. All plants are flourishing. I have placed several orders over the summer for border gold compost soil for our community constructed raised flower beds in our local biodiversity project. The service provided by Compost Direct was excellent and the donated flower bed plants - mostly donated by local supermarkets via their Community Champion member of staff - have flourished in the soil. I highly recommend Compost Direct as a reliable, dependable and value for money company.

great service, very helpful delivery guy moving the compost as near as he could to its destination. we mixed in together the Black Gold, Veggie pro and Soil conditioner, smelt amazing. All plot holders well happy. Thank you x
