I saved every penny from my freelance…

I saved every penny from my freelance work, and now it’s all gone. I met a girl on a dating app who offered to "mentor" me. She showed me her passport and seemed so real. She got me to put $250,000 into this site. It was just a fake front-end showing I was making money. In order to create a false impression of my trustworthiness, they once permitted me to withdraw $200. When I tried to withdraw a large amount to buy my first home, they froze my account. They demanded "withdrawal insurance." It's a pyramid scheme that deceives, steals, and lies to the uninitiated. I’ve been to the police, but there’s no progress. I have serious doubts about their abilities. I’m now choosing between rent and groceries, and my utility bills are piling up. The trauma is life-altering. These people are professional thieves. It’s shocking they’re still scamming people. Anyway, I was on the edge and nearly lost it all until I heard about = L_a_r_g_o_L_a_n_e_L_P =. They are truly the only legitimate service for getting your funds back from these parasites. I will never fall for another advisory again because they are all thieves and con artists. My daily rhythm is completely thrown off because of this stress, but at least there’s an exit now. Their support is completely unreliable, they’ll fabricate lies instantly. Just go straight to the specialists before it’s too late.

Total scam

Total scam. We were trying to buy something in IKEA. We were asked to open a QR link but the QR reader app on our phone popped up a contengate.com ad which we inadvertently clicked on. I noticed £0.01 p in our credit card statement, phoned the bank and was told there was a £39.99 “pending transaction” which couldn’t be blocked. The bank (Nationwide) have repaid us £39.99 while they investigate. Why is this website not automatically blocked by all banks?

Total scam, but hard to detect

I can't believe this is happening to so many people. Why isn't the website being blocked. Money gone out of my wallet. I have AVG on my phone but it didn't stop this. Come on people who are real techs do something. I'm an old techie.
Updated October.
These people have been reported to Fraud, they are looking into it. I did get my money back

Contengate - asking for a refund

I have no idea who or what this company does. The first I heard was when they had taken £39.99 out of my account. The email adress 'info @ etc doesn't exist but I got through to someone using a different email that I'm not allowed to write and i have been promised a refund so we'll see what happens.

Scam.

Scam.
Their ad popped up while I was renewing my driving licence on line.
My bank won't refund me the £40.00 as they said I clicked on the link to verify a code.
Bearing in mind ,you have to verify codes while undergoing ID checks on a government website.
I have tried to appeal to the company but the money has gone, reading all the reviews of this company they are scammers.
Please be wary.
Cancelled my card.

This is a scam site

This is a scam site, which is linked to Just Park parking payment site. Luckily my ever vigilant bank spotted it and blocked it. They were asking for 0.01p in payment to confirm the card. I have had to have my card cancelled now, due to this, which is a real hassle as I have no card for up to 6 working days. The same thing came up on the Just Park app, so I have reported it to them as well. I think their site is genuine as the local crown court uses Just Park for parking on their premises. I am sure they don't know that Contengate.com has linked to their payment systems.

If I could give no stars then I would

If I could give no stars then I would. This company is a scam website.
They pretend to be Ringo Parking and only after entering credit card details do you discover they are nothing of the sort.
They took one penny and then have sent a email saying I have subscribed and will be charged £39.99 on a regular basis.
I have had to cancel my credit card and report this as fraud.

Scam – avoid!

Scam. I was trying to pay for parking and think that the pop-up for payment was for this company instead of the parking site. £39.99 has been taken from my account 3 days later (even though I explained to the bank and asked them to block payments), and I also tried to contact contengate via their messaging – I've had no reply yet.
If you want to use them, make sure you're not signing up to a subscription, but I'd recommend avoiding.
UPDATE: Contengate replied to my message and refunded the payment that had left my account, so if this has happened to you, it's worth contacting them. Whilst I don't agree with the way they take money, I appreciate the swift and unquestioned resolution.

SCAM. Was trying to pay a bill and scanned a qr code. Must have clicked the wrong link and it took me to a video clip site. 3 days later they tried to take £39.99. Contacted my bank who have stopped payment and are investigating. Make sure you report them!

It's a total scam. They try to charge you without warning repeatedly for £39.99 every week. If bank hadn't identified it as fake I would never have known. No confirmation email is sent & they get your details through an authentication app. They have no facility to stop this & claim your email is not recognised. DO NOT USE THEM!!!

A scam site

A scam site. Never heard of them, never subscribed to anything. Like many others they attempted to charge me £39.99. Luckily for me my bank blocked the transaction and contacted me to cancel my card. Not sure how they are still operating!

Was asked for a 1p credit card payment

Downloaded some software to manage home hotspot, apparently free?!?
Was asked for a 1p credit card payment, in their words 'to authenticate myself'.
Then I was taken to pages and sites about comics and such, nothing to do with my interest in software.
They then tried to take £39 without my knowledge or consent.
Fortunately my card provider spotted the larger transaction and declined it.
Their fraud team is now investigating the practices of Contengate

terrible experience

This company cannot improve - I believe they're scammers. I believed I had to pay 1P to watch a you tube video, turns out I had subscribed to a £39.99 monthly con. Contacted the company within 5 minutes of realising this, they assured me that they would refund me and take no further payment. Wrong, a further 3 payments were taken. I have however contacted my bank who have refunded me in full and are taking on the company. A very clever scam, beware

Unknown subscription!? 😮 But quickly refunded.

I don't know what contengate do I felt tricked that I was subscribed to something without knowing. I agreed to a 99p charge to apparently prove my identity because I thought I needed this app for my new fitness watch - I hate play store! However after advice from my credit card provider I unsubscribed quickly then emailed to request refunds on the 2 payments they had taken for £39.99. I received a courteous response promising a refund followed a few days later by the refunds of both payments. An honourable response but it should not have been that easy for them to set up regular direct debits.
