Coquets are the same as booking. ComHaving looked at their website and…

Having looked at their website and booking over the phone I thought I was booking a 5 star gold award property through a local company that let and managed and maintained high standards. Long story the property was utterly filthy bathrooms mouldy through lack of cleaning water just pooled round the taps and sinks and water still on the shower glass which was opaque due to limescale, dirty duvets with blood and mould, dog hairs and sand everywhere filthy floors and surfaces and fridge and dust that you could write in. Also used guest toiletries and chewed muddy dog balls in the dog welcome basket.. Rang coquets to let them know we were unhappy was told that it was owner managed all they could do was call the owner. The owner en route had called us just to give property information and had already told us she lived away from the house and told coquets not to call the owner but I would not book them again. Coquets then decided to call the owner so I then had to talk the owner through the problems which I woud have preferred to do in a time of my choosing. Had we had other options but with two dogs and having already had a long journey we just decided to clean which is what we spent the first evening and following morning doing. The owner was lovely and offered to send the housekeeper to reclean but given the standards of the person we declined. The owner arranged for a 75 voucher as an apology this was unknown to us and we had not asked for anything. I was annoyed coquets had ignored my wishes and contacted the owner I also thought it was interesting that I never was approached by them to ask for feedback on the property or to leave a review. I sent the owner all the pictures for her to address but really this should also have been sent to coquets. The property looked utterly unlike the photos and we felt totally ripped off by the experience. I will certainly check the small print in the future.

Insects crawling all over the beds

Arrived at a holiday cottage booked with this firm to find both bedrooms full of large black flies which were crawling all over all over the clean beds and pillows.
Black mould was growing around the window frames, light fittings with no lightbulbs, carpets had not been cleaned, dirty oven, no dog bowls or hamper provided as advertised.
Staff condescending and unhelpful. Would not recommend

Thank you for your review. Due to the time of year (mid-May) and in the midst of a warm spell, and the location of the property which is next to a working farm (clearly advertised on our website) there was an unusual amount of black flies that had made their way into the cottage. Huge apologies were offered from the owner and us for the condition in which you arrived, yet you had chosen to depart early the morning after arrival, giving us no opportunity to rectify the problem, which would have been very quick and easy to do.
We're are disappointed that you chose not to continue your holiday in this beautiful part of the world, and a gesture of apology was offered to you.
As part of our Booking Terms and Conditions which you agreed to when you booked with us, if there happen to be any issues during your stay, we ask that the owner or us are notified straight away to allow us the fastest opportunity to put things right for you. As we did not have this opportunity and you did not follow the terms you agreed to when booking, there was no opportunity given to the owner to rectify the situation when you had already made your way home.
We're sorry that this happened and hope we have the chance to provide a peaceful stay for you in the future.
Best regards,
Stephanie
