Came with a niggling shoulder and back…

Came with a niggling shoulder and back pain and my osteopath asked me lots of questions and took time to listen to everything I had to say about general health. Within a couple of weeks this was fixed and they have no fixed a problem with acid reflux which it turns out was muscle and posture related. Can’t recommend enough I love this centre

An osteopath from Core Clapton at SMSM…

An osteopath from Core Clapton at SMSM therapy told me that crystals have magical properties because a quartz watch stopped working and that it's all science based. They also suggested reflexology from a business partner and that it works based on one anecdote also. They also suggested acupuncture and other alternative medicine such as cranial osteopathy. I lost around £500 on deep tissue appointments which were really 20-50% chiropractic type adjustments accompied with sciency sounding buzzwords thinking it was a licensed physio/sports centre. It delayed proper treatment as I believed they still meant well.

This changed as I when I found out that all the irrelevant intimate questions are actually used for nasty swearing gossip about patients after being friendly to them, that I often encounter at the SMSM clinic that I have recorded. A distressed deaf elderly woman who was unhappy with being scammed was mocked as a foreign crazy woman. Youtube "SMSM Therapy" for another gossip session by this osteopath. It appears vulnerable people think they are their friend and succumb to charm and placebo. Please think critically and do proper research.

Concerns you raise internally may instead be crafted against you in a way that defies evidence. For example, when I was raising concerns with my osteopath, I highlighted a forum post about osteopathy made by one of their leaders at their university. My osteopath hinted that the lecturer gives good grades to favourite students and that some osteopaths gives the profession a bad name. However during the gossip soon after, this was turned around on me and I was the one being labelled "shady as f****" for not supplying the website name during the verbal discussion as I said its one of the first few search results on "osteopathy scam uk" and stated I can send the link after the consultation. The aforementioned 2021 post that perfectly illustrates osteopathy gang culture is here on a doctor's forum titled "An impressive demonstration of osteopaths’ inability to think critically":

"Osteopath here . I studied under the BSO , now the UCO , university college of osteopathy in London.

It was a unique and privileged time.

We don’t follow your systematic rules.

We are osteopaths . We have our own school of thought . We integrate with patients like human beings.

You forgot most physios have dog sh** people skills. Most universities like Kings and st George’s interview with a mini interview system which is suited to actors and actresses . The tutors are all old bitter hags who need to exercise themselves

The fact is , Osteopathy is more free and in tune with a patients needs. Osteopaths make patients feel good. And they pay us handsomely.

Articulation and HVT doesn’t work? Ok then why does my patient feel better.

There is a reason prostitution is the most lucrative business of all time, always will be and always has been. Nothing can replace feeling good . It’s the ultimate human existence

The author is just a grump … stick to your lame physio universities run by fat l*sers who can’t get cash like osteopaths because they lack the ability to get quick results on the day.

I’ll see you later while I relax in my penthouse with my Russian girlfriend, I’ve gotten respect and money as an osteopath for my contributions to the community . People love osteo and hate physio for a reason."

I rarely leave reviews/feedback…

I rarely leave reviews/feedback however, I feel I had to on this occasion.

Whilst I have left a 1 star rating, this is no reflection on staff/teachers at Core Clapton.
This is due to the fact that Jen Woolridge (Wednesday evenings Pilates Teacher), has left :'(

I have been attending Jen’s weekly classes for over a year now, both at the Core Clapton and online sessions during the lockdown.

To say that it has been a difficult time the past year for everyone, is an understatement.
Jen’s classes have been a godsend and a lifeline for me (and others).
Since attending Jen’s classes, I have seen a difference within myself, both physically and emotionally.

It is a serious loss that Jen will no longer be at Core Clapton, as she is an amazing teacher, was a great asset at Core and the Core space is very close to home.

Jen is passionate about Pilates, attentive, understanding of your level and gives alternatives to suit every individual.

You may say that there are other Pilates teachers, but it is very difficult to find someone who is truly a wonderful teacher, who is also understanding of every individual’s situation, empathetic, personable, whose character shines through.
I have to add, great choice of music too!

I have found Jen’s website online @jwopilates.co.uk and will be continuing my classes with her

Jen’s classes are brilliant as a whole for your mind, body and well-being.
Please try one of her sessions and you won’t be disappointed!

♥️Big Love💋Best Wishes♥️

Brilliant practice, life-changing support

When I developed a niggling pain behind my right knee that really inhibited my movement while running a few weeks ago, I knew exactly where to go for help.
Core Clapton sorted out a bout of patellar tendinitis for me a couple of years ago, a problem that had stopped me running completely at the time (and physio had been unable to sort out). But with a few months of steady work under their guidance, I was back running 5k and then 10k.
I've had a similarly brilliant experience this time, with warm and friendly one-to-one sessions with Lisa and really helpful exercises to do on my own in between. And once again, the pain has gone.
I cannot recommend this practice highly enough.
