I purchase a coupon thru Groupon for an oil change at Mountain View Tire & Auto Service, at their Burbank, CA location. I had an appointment for 1/30/2024 at 2PM. I got there on time and was total I'd have to wait for up to 4 hours (6 o'clock at night) Total them this was unacceptable and to cancel everything. I had a negotiated contact in writing and they failed to live up to it.

I've attempted to get a refund on the CC I'd used with Groupon. There are no phone numbers to reach Groupon, just file a complaint on their website and they'll get back to you within 30 days. The 30 days has since passed and have not received a reply.

I will never use Groupon again nor go to a Mountain View Tire

SCAM!! Steal Your Money

SCAM!!! Do NOT go here unless you want them to steal your money. I purchased 2 tires here for $1600, yes $800+ per tire. I’m not disputing the cost even though it’s outrageous. No, the tires were not gold plated, just massive mark up. They were only able to install one tire. They were not able to get the other tire off due to a wheel lock, which they stripped the key trying to take off incorrectly. I then went to purchase another wheel key on my own dime, again they stripped that too and still were not able to take the 2nd tire off. At that point I just said refund me for the 2nd tire as I had already spent over 1 month and 4 trips to their location. Manager (Jesse) said he had to submit it to corporate and would take 2 weeks (funny how the charge only took 5 seconds).

So I’ve been dealing with corporate (Monro Auto Service) for over 2 months to get my $800+ refund. I’ve called them 4x, each time they acknowledge the refund due, but state they need a manager approval and would get back to me. Same story each time. So no refund and lots of wasted time. I’ve filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, as their charge and refund practices are illegal and super slim shady. FYI, don’t pay for all tires up front, only pay for what they install that day. So if you want to play russian roulette with your hard earned cash, take your chances. Otherwise find another tire place that isn’t shifty and dishonest.

Furious is an understatement

Furious is an understatement. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Called the Troy location to make an appt Thursday and Friday of last week, no one answered. Went to the Troy location on Saturday and was told that they could not get me in for an oil change at that time, but could get me in at 445 that day. I made the 445 appt and provided my cell phone number and said if anything changes in the schedule, please give me a call. I don't live close, but this is the closest location to my home, so I kill time for 3 HOURS and stay in the Troy area. I showed up at 445 and was told that they still could not get me in. The ONLY reason I make yet ANOTHER appointment for Monday is due to the fact I have a Groupon, so I make an appointment for Monday at 6pm and AGAIN, SAY PLEASE CALL ME IF ANYTHING CHANGES. I show up today to my appt and was told that I will not be getting my oil changed... as they do not have a tech. The manager was extremely rude and after arguing with him for a few moments, he said, AND I QUOTE, that it's like making an appointment at your doctor's office, yes you have and appointment, but if they can't get you in, they can't get you in. Now I am not sure what doctor he sees, but if mine needs to reschedule, THEY CALL YOU!!!!!! I called the corporate office to complain, and 4 TIMES when my call was answered, before I could even speak was disconnected. I have worked in customer service for 30 years, and this is absolutely ridiculous!!!!! ZERO STARS, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!

Tirechoice damaged my car & is taking no responsibility

Transaction date: 5/11/24
Amount: $133.88
To: replace snow tires with regular tires
Issue:
- I brought in my car for service, a 2023 Tesla MY, on 5/11/24 with the tires placed on the back seat.
- On picking it up, two of the snow tires were in rear seat floor well, wedged tightly between the rear seat and front seats
- Also, one of the wheel covers was broken and wouldn't stay on
- When removing the tires from the rear floor well, the brackets holding driver's side seat back snapped, causing it to fall off shortly thereafter
- I returned to Tirechoice to resolve or be reimbursed for the damages.
- They said it would have to go to Corporate and that it takes a long time for resolution
- I left the broken wheel cover with them and was told that the Manager, Dale, would call me and follow through with my request for reimbursement of damages. He never did and in trying to reach him, calling at the times I was told to, he was never there and never returned my calls.
- Since other employees said it would help if I sent Dale an email detailing the total cost of damages ($628.33). I did so on 5/18/24. He never responded.
- I waited patiently for any response, which also never came.
- I kept calling, trying to reach him, but he was never in when I was told he would be there, and he never returned my calls.
- I was finally able to reach him on 8/21/23 and he said he was meeting with regional manager the next day and would bring it up, which made it obvious he'd never done ANYTHING.
- I resent him the email, and he told me when he would be in next so I could find out what happened.
- He was never there at those times, so I stopped in at Tirechoice on 8/21/24, he wasn't there, and in talking with an employee, found out that he was rarely EVER there.
- I left him written a note saying that if I didn't hear from him within the week, I was going to report this to the BBB and on Trustpilot.com
- A week later I've still not heard from him. Hence this post.
