I have bought multiple pairs of Costa Sunglasses over the years and their warranty process used to be great...well that has clearly changed. I have a pair of $200 sunglasses that were damaged by an errant soccer ball kick. Costa "determined" that the sunglasses (less than 5 years old) were out of warranty and offered a repair for $150...... That will be the last pair of Costa sunglasses I ever buy. What a shame they have gone so cheap and so classless. Abandoning the warranty, you use to hold so high won't increase your business.

At one time getting your Costa's refurbished was easy and quick. As most who own them know the rubber temple guards and nose guards just rot off after about three years and are no longer covered under warranty. The lenses are great, but the frames are poor quality. I recently tried to have my Permit's repaired and they have refused to do so. Only offered me a discount on a new pair. There are many good options now and I am done with Costa's and I was a 20 year customer!!

If I could give a 0, I would. I purchased my glasses when they had lifetime warranty and had them replaced once before for delamination of the lenses, with a substitution. I now have the same issue and they want to bill me for the repair. That's breach of warranty. I bought them with lifetime warranty.
I've emailed Costa del Mar as requested in their response and will update my review as necessary.

Costa Del Mar is a fraudulent company that doesn't honor warranty and customer loyalty. After several years of service, several parts of the frame began disintegrating and falling off the glasses. Costa claims this is not a defect in material or workmanship. I say it's both. As a result they lost my business forever. Sad that they are dishonest and deceitful in their practices.

The worse website and order process ever. This company has reverted to 2001. This how the French destroy brands.

Costa use to be great but when they went from Florida to new location all went down hill. I have a pair of Tuna Alley Pro that are only 8months old and the frame broke at nose just from putting them on and no abuse. I use my case when needed and also Krokies to keep them safe.
I have only owned Costa for over 20 years. Customer service is horrible and they do everything not to speak with you and only want you to deal with a BOT and that goes nowhere. You have to send multiple pictures and receipt and still it looks like they decline 90% of warranty requests. When I finally got a person on the phone they told me even if the same thing happened in the first week they would decline warranty request.
I guess its time to move on to another brand as loyalty doesn't matter.

Costa is junk I would not recommend buying Costa. The #Warranty sucks buy Waterland sunglasses I will never recommend this product to anyone that’s for sure buy any other brand then costa

The worst customer service! One of my lenses cracked after buying a pair of Costa's 6 months ago. I reached out to buy a new lense and they replied its out warranty and offered me a pair of glasses for 150 dollars. I just want to buy a new lense. The company is terrible! Zero communication. Stick to Maui Jims or another reputable brand who actually cares.

The only reason they got one star was because I had to put something. Paid over $300 for pair of sunglasses had them less than a year and a half frame broke when putting glasses onto my face only thing they could do for me was offer me a new pair at half the cost will no longer purchase anything made by Costa Oakley or Ray-Ban since they’re all under the same umbrella I hope people read this message and come to the same conclusion. They’re about putting out poor product for top dollar and not standing behind it. It’s one thing to cut your quality down. It’s another to go up in pricing and offer less to the customer as far as a warranty is concerned. Will be taking my business to Randolph an American company that actually stands behind their product and takes care of their customer.

DO NOT EVER BUY COSTA DEL MAR SUNGLASSES. They used to be a great company and had great customer service but ever since they sold their company back in 2020 to Essilor Luxottica, their customer service has decreased 99%. I give them a 1 star of 5. I would give them a zero star if that was an option!

Wanted to tell you that l am quite impressed with the sunglasses purchased. I wear them daily and they do get the usual tumble and drops. Never seen so much as a scratch. Got home after work and had to get some work done on the farm. Sunglasses were on my head as I was climbing into one of my tractors in complete darkness. I stumbled on the top step and my sunglasses fell from my head unknowingly. When I say I stepped on my glasses, I mean I stepped on them.
I curbed stomped the hell out of them as I fell into the cab. My heart sank when I realized what had happened. One lens broke and the other was cracked. The frame was absolutely undamaged. I showed the staff at Cabelas and they said they have never worked on Costa King Tide 8 glasses as they thought they were durable. I can attest this from my stomp. I'm not a little guy. Was gonna add a pic but don't think I can on here.
Thumbs up on being durable

I tried to contact customer support about a product questions. The AI chat is "CHAT" (yeah, right) is crap. It kept saying I don't get that, or what this a product you bought online. I tried to call several time and sat on hold. I have two costa's and two Maui Jim's. I had an issue with a broken MJ lense and they were on it. I want to buy a certain type of Fisch style configuration. JUST NOT WORTH THE WAITING ON HOLD. MJ, it is.

I have 3 pairs of Costa sunglasses. They last about 3 years and they fall apart.
They are great for the first year and then begin to break down significantly just after the warranty is over.
Shame on me for buying the most recent pair. I spoke to customer service and they literally laughed at me.
I need a new pair of sunglasses and I will NEVER buy another Costa product.
Be careful grasshopper.

This company makes great sunglasses but their website and customer service is awful because I received a pop up that state Ted get 15% off when I enter my email then get 20% off when I create an account which I did under my email but the code the sent me said code does not exist then I called customer service they said the same thing but I told them about the above activity’s that I did and he said he couldn’t help me then they sent me several emails and finally this last one had a discount and I purchased my sunglasses on 2/6/2026
Washington it really necessary for me to go over all this I didn’t sign up for emails under another email I used to purchase today

It’s the customer service that’s really bad here. They’re super friendly but nothing gets done and they ghost you by long holds and no replies.
I tried to make an adjustment to a prescription glasses order just hours after ordering on a late Sunday night. The first chat associate told me to just email my rx and changes and it would be done, the next associate said it can’t be changed and the third said they’d cancel it and I could reorder. Neither happened. Then me and my insurance company called and spent hours on hold with no one ever returning to the call to help us. Then an associate said I could cancel thru an email inquiry but now has ghosted me.
The products seem nice but I wouldn’t ever order again in the event something isn’t right or need to use the warranty.

I've had my c-mates for about 2.5 years. The rubber that goes around the nose area starting coming off, then broke off. I contacted Costa to see if I could get the replacement rubber. What i got was an offer to purchase another pair at a slight discount. These glasses were $400! Ill never purchase Costa sunglasses again, nor would I recommend Costa sunglasses to anyone. Extremely expensive and disappointing.
Extremely Disappointed – Quality and Warranty Are a Shadow of What They Used to Be
I’ve owned multiple pairs of Costa Del Mar sunglasses over the years and used to swear by the brand. Unfortunately, that reputation no longer holds up—especially since the company was sold to new ownership.
My Costa Reefton Pro, which comes with a premium price tag, has been a massive disappointment in terms of durability. For sunglasses marketed toward serious outdoor use, the frame quality is unacceptable. Normal wear led to issues that simply shouldn’t happen on a product at this price point. These do not feel like “performance” sunglasses anymore—they feel cheaply made and fragile.
What’s even more frustrating is the warranty process. Costa’s warranty used to be one of the best in the industry. Now it feels restrictive, slow, and designed to deny claims rather than support loyal customers. Even with a legitimate issue, the experience was exhausting and left me feeling like the company no longer stands behind its product.
The biggest letdown is the shift in brand values. It’s painfully obvious that after the sale to new ownership, cost-cutting has replaced quality and customer service. You’re paying premium prices for a name, not premium craftsmanship or support.
At this point, I can’t justify recommending Costa Del Mar to anyone. There are better-built sunglasses on the market with stronger warranties and companies that actually care about their customers. Just purchased a new pair of BAJIO sunglasses because they are do it the right way. Costa may still sell its old reputation, but based on my experience, the Costa I grew to love is long gone.
Buyer beware!

Buyers Beware. I purchased my 4th and Last Pair of Costa Sunglasses. I own the latest pair for 9 Months and the Left Wing of the sunglasses at the tip behind your ear was bending outward. I contact Sun Glass Hut at Bass Pro Shops where I purchased these $300+ Glasses and they sent me to Costa. Sun Glass Hut said they never saw that before. I sent 8 Pictures and typed a Novel to Costa because that's what they require and they denied replacing the Sunglasses because they say it was out of warranty. The warranty is 2 Year Limited. I Purchased them 9 Months ago. They only thing they offered was a replacement pair for $225. They wouldn't even take the sunglasses back to see that this was a product Defect and Not a User Issue. By Far this is the Worst Company Customer Service I've Seen in Years. If you have ANY Issues with their Products you're Basically Screwed Because They Don't Care. I Hope You Consider Other Sunglass Companies as Costa is the Worst Option for you.

I have had Maui Jims and Ray Bans, the Rincon was my first and last pair of Costas. The glasses look nice when you get them (feel very cheap) and mine started to fail less than 2 years from purchase. On both lenses the sides are showing a rippling effect. It isn't in my field of vision yet, however, I think it is only a matter of time - both lenses are damaged. I only clean them with warm water and soap then dry with microfiber towel. These aren't even my daily worn sunglasses, I use Goodr glasses for yard work and running. These are truly overpriced Goodr sunglasses, they feel the same and the lenses don't appear to hold up any better. I was hoping for a better outcome, save your money and look somewhere else.
I tried to post a review on their website and its locked out, you have to do it through this site. They cherry pick the reviews of their glasses to show on their website. I was surprised, but not really, to see on Trustpilot a 3.1/5 rating out of 1400 reviews or whatever and on their site the Rincons are 5/5 with 24 reviews. Switch and bait crap. I also tried reaching out directly to them and gave up frustrated because they limit you to two sentences when writing them

Prescription sunglasses and regular glasses were sent with incorrect prescriptions. Returned all 4 pairs. I have now been waiting months for a refund back to my credit card. Have called 6 times. Each time they say they will send email confirmations and the money will be refunded within 24-48 hours. That was 1,510 hours ago and I still have no resolution.
Have been a Costa fan for decades, and the products are "A" quality. But the service side is an "F"!
