Silver hooped earring broke after wearing twice

I purchased a pair of silver hoop earrings as a present for my daughter (cost £54). After wearing twice the clip fasten broke off. I contacted the company who were initially very helpful and said to return them for which they sent a tracked return label. They wanted to look at why it had failed with a view to replacement but since returning I have heard absolutely nothing more, despite chasing via email and a form. I have said if they cannot replace or refund then please can they return them to me, but still I have heard nothing. This is very disappointing and I certainly wouldn't buy anything from them again.
