Old interface / Not intuitive
Old interface, not instinctive. I expect a better experience for a procurement tool in 2025
Would give negative stars if possible
Would give negative stars if possible. Everything is verified on my end yet I’m still waiting for 4 separate invoice payments, one from over a month ago. Coupa tries to ruin lives. I wasn’t able to make rent because of them. Trash service full of trash people.
Absolute Disaster: A Nightmare Product Backed by a Completely Incompetent Company
This product is an absolute disaster. It’s clunky, unreliable. This is by far the worst company I've ever dealt with. Their professionalism is a joke. I wouldn’t trust them with a single byte of our data. Stay far, far away if you value your business.

Our client asked that we register an account to be paid through the Coupa portal. We went through the sign up process which was arduous, pointless and horrifically over complicated. Then once we had our account nothing matched the information sent to us by the client and we were unable to navigate the platform to set things up.
This is Coupa's words: a solution to deliver a streamlined and efficient experience. The Coupa Supplier Portal (CSP) gives you clear visibility of all purchase orders, facilitates the invoicing process and provides transparency over invoice statuses.
I would hate to see what the non streamlined version would look like. Why any business would use this platform confounds me, 96% giving them 1 star!!!! Hysterical.
Its now 19.02.25 and we still havent managed to get paid as we have now spent another 4hrs trying to set up Coupa Portal. I have never experienced anything this bad EVER. So far it has taken 11 emails and 23 failed attempts to configure our details on Coupa.
We will not work with ANY company that uses COUPA in future as it isn't worth the heartache of trying to get paid!!!!
1.) 2FA policies are whack
1.) Your are not given the option to disable 2FA, you are REQUIRED to enable 2FA. 2.) If you chose 2FA via the authentication app, you can not freely switch the 2FA mode to receiving a text/code, without an act of god (consents from two officers, etc.) 3.) the 2FA field for receiving text/code is not editable, so a simple cell edit function, again requires the same dual consent process. All major banking institutions and even other major third party billing systems let customers choose to enable or disable 2FA and, if 2FA via text/code is enabled, you can edit the damn cell phone field. This is the worst customer support experience I've had in my 25 year professional career.

Unintuitive user experience with many bugs and some unnecessary steps. It complicates the whole payment process.
Absolute garbage.
Absolute garbage.
Lacks anything resembling the most basic of functionality. Massively unintuitive interface. Horrible to work with.
Worst company I've ever dealt with
Worst company I've ever dealt with. I spent hours on calls with 5 different workers over the course of a month trying to get set up and submit a very simple invoice. Each employee either gave me incorrect instructions and/or had no idea how to do the task at hand of setting up a simple profile. It took 5 very long calls of contradictory direction to finally get it done. Also, the program is ridiculous in that there are several fields to be filled in that don't actually work. The employees were aware of it and didn't know how to resolve. They were also rude and tried to get off of the phone without solving the problem. Another ridiculous flaw that is representative of many more on their portal: there is a field to input a date, indicating you can input it as 00/00/0000 format. There is also a calendar you can click on if you want to input the date that way. I had typed it in the field and that was one of the reasons the process couldn't complete. It took them awhile to figure out what issue was and then she said "Oh, you can't type the date in even though it says you can. You have to click the calendar and choose it that way." (there were several other parts like this, a field to fill in that has to be filled in a diff. way than indicated! Or there are fields that the employee said i had to override in a way no one would know of because the portal indicates the opposite. I have no idea how anyone is paying money to use this service!
Nightmare experience sending a simple invoice
Our clients wants invoices thru Coupa. Like others said: a complete nightmare. Even the VAT calculation is wrong and you cannot change the amount. Coupa helpdesk (in India...) keeps stating the same incorrect answers, asks for the issue 4 times and does not provide any help. I agree with all other reviews here...a nightmare experience that costs a lot of time.
INVOICE NIGHTMARE
3 WEEKS TRYING EVERY DAY TO GENERATE AN INVOICE - IT DESERVES ALL THOSE BAD REVIEWS
I CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY A MAJOR SUPERMARKET WOULD CHOOSE THIS SYSTEM
This system is distressing
This system is distressing. I couldn'agree more with all the negative experiences about Coupa I've read: I have to change password each time I login; while trying to resset the password I endup in an endless loop; there is nobody to chat with for assistance, the system keeps turning and turning and when leaving after 15 minutes waiting you get the message "No one is available to chat. Try again later. If you leave now, you’ll lose your place in line to chat". And all this because I am trying to modify personal data, which I had already changed last time I logged in.
You have made things 5x more inefficent
So you take over the accounting from our customer. Send me a 20 page pdf about how I need to do 100 things to get paid. Then, send me monthly emails telling me if i pay $450 a year i can get greater exposure. ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND??? The ONLY benfit you have brought me as a supplier to my customer is...you have literally made doing busines....5x more work!
Absolutely the worst!!!!
Absolutely the worst!!!!
No customer support.
Nightmare
Horrible
Horrible! Horrible! Horrible!
Our client uses this system and requires us to accept PO from Coupa and then invoice them. It's a nightmare! We've wasted so much time back and forth emailing, scheduling calls, and asking Coupa customer support (useless and never solved any problem)! Worst experience ever!!!
Absolute TRASH
Absolute TRASH. If I could give zero stars I would. Horrible product, customer experience & interface, and all Customer Services offers as a response to ANYthing is 'I don't know'.
Companies, vendors, suppliers - DO NOT USE THEM.

The worst system I have ever experienced. Not user friendly at all. It is so bad it makes me reconsider doing business with people who use it
Faulty system and incompetent customer support
System is faulty, and very confusing to use.
Their support doesn't give a s*** about you, and just provide you with standard answers. After providing non-helpful answers, they mark the support-request as resolved and kick you out of the chat.
If possible I would give this company minus 5 stars, unfortunately I have to give them 1...
Honestly the worst I've ever come…
Honestly the worst I've ever come across. The Foschini Group uses this and it's taken a SHOCKING amount of emailing and VERY convoluted process to process a payment. I am STILL waiting to receive payment and have had COUNTLESS hoops to jump through. AVOID AVOID AVOID
Painful
Painful. This is the type of business where you wonder just how they manage to exist. It's bizarre.
Total Coupa Flop
Trying to get payment via Coupa which uses it's own terminology and you have to spend time with them "reaching out" to ascertain where you stand.
Don't even consider them if you're looking for a change.
